One year update - still happy
Follow up to the three month post. Still very happy with the car. Pleasure to drive, easy on the eyes and at the pump. Made it through a South Texas summer and would prefer cloth over leatherette seats--they get pretty warm and don't breathe. That would have meant the Sport vice Touring trim, which would have removed the COMAND knob (which I play with but don't really use). I would have been OK with that since the Sport Auto includes the backup cam, which has turned out to be really nice. The smaller wheels wouldn't have been a deal breaker. Averaging about 31.5 in mixed driving.
Great Value
This car has treated me very well. I have very little to complain about. My Mazda6 Touring only cost me about 24,500 which comes with a lot of features that would have cost a LOT more with other cars (I know I did a lot of shopping when I decided on the Mazda). The blind spot monitoring is cool and has helped me avoid several traffic incidents, the backup camera works great and now I back-up into spaces like a pro (it also alerts you by beeping when cars are criss-crossing behind you). I love the radio control by the armrest, allows me to change things without reaching for the screen. I get great gas mileage consistently and the car is a blast to drive. I put a LOT of miles on this car the first couple years of owning it and have had NO problems maintenance-wise. Nothing broke down, damaged... I did have to have the brakes replaced once, but I did a lot of City driving. My only real complaint was how poorly this car dealt with snow with the original tires (and the stupid expensive tires I bought to replace)... lots of skidding and very little traction. I think this is in part because the car is so light and the few options of tires in its size. 19" looks nice, but it is expensive to replace tires. Overall this is a fantastic car. The ride is fun and sporty. It gets great gas mileage. The interior materials are wonderful; feels like luxury car without it being one. Lots of room. Very reliable and fun. Also mine is red with a spoiler, and I have had a LOT of people tell me how sharp my car looks. I highly recommend the Mazda6!

Great car so far
Have had the car for two months and 3400 miles so far and it has been great. Love the styling. Could be getting better gas mileage; if driven cautiously and try to milk the gas some, get about 30 mpg mixed driving with about 60/40 freeway, town driving. When driven more aggresively I am getting 28 mpg. That is still not bad for stepping on it quite a bit.
Simply love it!
I've had Honda, Ford, Acura, and Hyundai's, but I love my 6! I feel like James Bond in it, LOL! The exterior styling is extremely stylish. Just love, love, love this car in and out!
Just took delivery - so far so good
I haven't had the car a week yet but so far so good. I agree with the others that it's arguable one of the best looking cars on the road today. I also like that I'm not lumped into the "Camry and Accord" group. There simply aren't that many Mazda 6's on the road so it's nice to be a little different. I can see why they charge more for red or white. I went with white since so many of my friends have red cars. It looks great! I traded in a Corolla for this car so naturally it feels super loaded to me and it is. It's got literally everything. I've had several BMW models in the past and I like to feel the road and that's what you get with the huge 19" wheels.
