Biggest Bang for the Buck!
Shopped everything in the midsize range and nothing compared. My wife drives a 2002 which is a great car (paint dings way too easy) but the Mazda6 gives us the sports car we were looking for. We tried the MazdaSpeed6 and loved the turbo and the all wheel drive but could not justify the price jump. We went for the 4 cylinder over the 6 for mpg and the balance on the 4 cylinder seemed better. The automatic was nice but the 5 speed added more get up and go. I chose the moonroof package to gain the Bose sound system which is awesome! I drove a Grand Am and the Mazda 6 is so much quieter and more comfortable that Pontiac should be ashamed. The comfort and inside/outside style screams value.
Like it Better than Fit
After failing to come to terms on a Honda Fit, I started looking for alternatives. For $400 more than a Fit Sport Automatic, I was out the door with this far more substantial and comfortable car. The rear seats fold down and the trunk is huge. All my friends and family, as well as myself, have been impressed with this car. Mine has automatic transmission, and side air bags. I also installed the Sirius myself (which I highly recommend). I have averaged 30.2 mpg in real world commuting driving. With the 18 gallon tank, you can plan to travel over 500 miles on a tank full. The car came with Michelin tires, power windows and locks, tilt and telescope steering and power mirrors.

A good college car...
This is a nice car to drive. It's quiet on the inside and rides almost as smooth as my mom's Lexus. I think that for the money you can't get a better car out there. I test drove many including the Scion, Honda, and Nissan. I liked the feel of the Mazda 6 the best. I have owned the car for about 6 months now and haven't even noticed a rattle. I would highly recommend this car to anyone.
Zoom zoom, with a good price
I bought my black 2006 Sport i 4 door for quite a good price with some hard bargaining. It is a fun drive to say the least. Took it on some mountain roads, and its low stiff suspension was a blast to drive. The Triptronic transmission that comes with the 5-speed auto is fun to drive. The car shifts through the first 2 gears real fast, and in its 5th gear overdrive, it's smooth and quiet. It's quiet overall, and feels much more solid around turns compared to the Accord I tried. It hugs the road and is well balanced. Even at 160hp it is still accelerates fast and takes over other cars on the highway with ease, and fun.
Mazda6 5 doors beats Accord and Camry
The new 2006 Mazda 6 is lot better than 2005; the seats are better, lateral support is superior, interior is quieter, suspension has been tuned and bushings have been replaced, the front disk are bigger, less fade, electronic height adjustable xenon light is a plus, the front nose, the skirt and the rear lights look more serious. Sure it would use 30hp more, but 0-60 in 8.2 seconds is quite good for a car that does 40mpg. The subwoofer from the Bose system could be better. Overall, for $30g, what car offers you volume, super big trunk with the biggest opening and an interior comparable to BMW, Lexus. I had 18 cars in my life, for the money, this is the best. The road handling is marvelous.
