I have had my Mazda now for a year and willing to recommend it to anyone looking for a great car. It is very fun to drive and I love the design. I did plenty of research and its all true. I have suggested it to several friends and two of them have already purchased theirs and they are too loving them.

Instead of doing what most people do and purchase and Accord or Camry, I decided to be a little different. The Mazda6 I purchased came fully loaded. I must admit, after 2000 miles, I am pretty satisfied with the car.

Fun to drive but with issues

I bought this car new in 2004 and love the way it drives. Very quick and fun to drive. However, there have been reliability issues including a clutch that just doesn't seem to catch shifting first to second, the starter had to be replaced and finally, the cable that connected my shifter to the engine snapped and I could no longer shift my car into gear. Very puzzling and the dealership had no idea why that would have happened. I really do love my car but wish it was more reliable. Also, it is terrible in the snow with all-season tires.

We purchased our 2004 Mazda 6 sports sedan and we love it. We were also testing a Pontiac Grand AM GT and the difference was incredible, You can tell right away the Mazda is put together very tightly. It has a modern look and very sleek design. This is my first non GM car and I couldn't be happier. Great fuel mileage too.

Excellent fun to drive vehicle with a lot of punch for a Sedan under 25K. It took me nearly a year to finally decide what type of car I wanted to purchase, and I have loved every minute with my 6.

The build quality of this car is great. If average German quality were a 5 and Japnese a 4, this car would score a 4.5 in my book. There is a solid "thunk" when closing the doors, quiet ride, good cornering. I went with the 2.3L for the fuel economy, not disappointed performance-wise, but if I did not care about mileage, I would have taken the V6. Even with an manu-matic the car is not a slug, just won't beat a Hemi off the line. I would highly recommend this car for its good looks, versatility and value.

I love my Mazda6s 5-door. The engine comes to life at about 3500-4000 rpm's and it fly's after that! The car handles better than most cars that I have driven. For the price it is a excellent car. I personally like it better than the BMW (low end) 3 series cars because of the interior room and the engine (not to mention it saves about 5 grand). Performance and appearance mod's are begining to come out and they are making this car faster and making it look better. I would recommend this car to anyone. I am very pleased with it and the service that Mazda has is unbeatable.

This car is put together nicely. I can't imagine a four dour handling any better. It has okay power from a stop, but impressive power while on the move. In comparison to everything else like honda, toyata, nissan, and so forth, the 6 is a much better bargain. To get the V6 in the other competing models is much more expensive, and in the end all you would be paying for is a LITTLE more pick up from a stand still. Is that really worth a couple thousand? Not when you consder how well the 6 handles.

I've loved the looks of the Mazda6 since I first saw one on the road. Excellent interior and exterior design. Great V6 and manual transmission. The ride is rather harsh. Small bumps in the road seem somewhat exaggerated by the suspension. Small creeks and rattles are evident on the interior when going over these bumps (noises in the B- pillar, the doors, and behind the audio/HVAC panel). The Bose system is awesome, but buzzes are definately noticable in the doors and handles when the bass is turned up above a medium level. Love, the car, wish the build was a little more solid.

The best thing about the 2004 mazda 6 is the styling. with the dual crome exaust the euro style tail lights and large lighted rear wing the vehical has a very agressive look. The sport package is a must!!! the only small regret i have about my M6 is getting the V6 with the sport package and getting the automatic transmision. With the sporty car i think i would have enjoyed the manual, also increasing the 0-60 time down to 6.9 sec. the Mazda i purchased was fully equiped with heated leather seats and the bose audio package which is execellent.i highly recommend this vehical for anyone not looking for the tipcal honda or toyota.

I jumped into the 'need another car' category last October, with gasoline taxing the middle class and below. I quietly looked for a late model, used vehicle and drove nearly everything out there. Plenty of used American cars, surprisingly plenty of Toyotas, Honda and Mazda were harder to find. When I drove the 6 its was perfect. Smooth, comfortable, room for my family, 30 mpg, and no up front hybrid cost.

I bought the sport wagon Auto. few days back with lxry pkg, sport pkg, bose audio, side airbags anad pwr mnrf. and I love the way it handles. More space, easy ingress/outgress, comfortable seating position, more leg room for back passengers than the Subaru Outback. Got a great price $4500 below invoice. Also considered Accord but the dealers were so arrogant did not even acknowledge my internet pricing request. Great Saleswoman and was very impressed with the dealership. No hassles and transaction was very smooth. Great car for a great price, camry, accord, altima don't even come close. Outback is too pricey. Great Styling. Easy to use controls. Can't believe a wagon can look so sporty!

Wonderful family sports sedan ! Regularly have positive comments & inquiries made at the gas pump, etc. by interested strangers...Once underway, the 4-cylinder gets up and goes at speeds above 50 mph ++. Nothing like it ! The automatic/manual shift transmission is a great idea for an all around exciting driving experience in all manner of traffic and driving conditions I feel.

Overall, love the car. Wish it had more torque but Mazda did what it could with that Ford motor. It revs surprisingly well and is not as course as you would think of it. Some of the interior also shows Ford cutting costs but like the design very much. There are a lot of little things I would like to change but every time I drive it, I forget about them.

I bought my fun to drive, eye appealing Mazda6 in early 2003,but I'm very upset and disappointed with the mechanical build quality of my Mazda6. I've owned this yellow "lemon" for 1 year and it's been at the dealer several times. Let me enlighten everyone with a little history. I've taken the lemon to the dealer on three diffrent occassions for coolant leaks (repairs made to diffrent areas in the cooling system), knock sensor (replaced) and not to mention the factory recalls within this past year.

After many visits to Edmunds to review lots of cars, trucks, etc, I decided to focus on two hatchback/wagon types of vehicles to complement what I need to drive everyday. After test-driving the Malibu Maxx LT, and liking it, I still wanted to take a close look at the Mazda6 Sport Wagon. WOW! I am so glad I did! Gallo Mazda in Worcester, MA had a fully loaded Black Onyx Mazda 6 Sport Wagon with the Sport package. It has the Luxury Package, Bose, power sunroof, spoiler, and the best damn leather seats I have ever sat in!! All this for $21000! The car drives so smoothly, and the handling is better than anything in this price range (by far!). The hard work paid off....I made the right choice!

I have owned my new silver 6s with sports package and manual transmission for 2 months now and I am very happy. The only things I can fault it for is the turning radius and it can be difficult to launch in 1st gear because of the lack of torque. However once this car is off the line it is a hoot to drive. It handles superbly at speed and the engine comes alive at 3500 rmp. As a younger man I was a Datsun 510 lover, and this car takes me back to the fun days of rowing gears and tossing the car around turns. It is also the best looking car in it's class (imo). Compared to the Accord, Camry or Altima this car has so much more personality and fun to drive factor. Why drive something boring?

This car is a great everyday driver for work. If you can opt of the V6 it is worth it. However, I do a lot of driving in Home Health and miles per gallon is important to me so the 4 cyl benefited me. I like to do my own shifting, but in todays traffic pay the extra for an automatic. I looked into everything in this price range 22K and the Mazda offered more spunk than other manufacturers. If you reside in San Antonio, Texas go to the IPAC dealership and speak with John B. (Manager), Reggie A, or Eddie G. They were AWESOME!! I have only had the car a day so I cannot comment on reliability at this time. The car is great.. it sells itself.

Just picked up my 6S, 5 speed, fully loaded in silver and this car literally has it all! My previously owned BMW 330i(with sport package as well) has nothing on this car(just a higher price and a name!), no kidding! This Mazda is ALL you could want in a car without raping your pockets! I have had more fun in this car in just 3 days than I had in my bimmer in 3 years! Just as fast, and the mazda has a hell of alot more available options than the bimmer did, and all for about 12k less! I got mine fully loaded for 23K!! It is all you could want in a car, very sporty, good quickness, handling is great and it has room for just about everything!!

I literally test drove 10 different cars before I decided on either buying the 6 or the Subaru Outback. I finally went for the 6 because it is 1000's less than the Outback. I live in MN. Winter driving is part of out lives here. I found that the 6 handles the snowy days very very well, thanks to its all speed traction control. My wagon has the luxury and sport pack; makes the car looks really sporty and it's amazingly comfortable! The auxiliary heater is great for winter. Handling on dry pavement is solid and inspires confidence around corners. Headlights with intergrated fog lights makes driving in the dark a lot more visible and safer. The sport shift is a lot of fun. But downshifting to gear #1 is a little rough!

I wanted a V6 5-speed with no options and since there are no such cars on any dealer's lot, I had to order. But the wait was worth it. My lapis blue Mazda 6 is beautiful, handles like it's on rails, and is quite fast above 3,000 RPM. If you're into performance and looks, you won't find any better sedan at $19,200.

I bought my 2004 Mazda6s from a dealership a few weeks ago. It was used, but had barely 6,000 miles and was in EXCELLENT condition. I was in love with the 6 for a very long time, and I am absolutely delighted to own one. My 6s is fully loaded, down to the leather seats, Bose Sound system and the sunroof. This car has it all, a head-turning exterior, a fun and fab interior, and the 3.0 V6 engine gives you some pep when you want it - yet still remains quiet (a lot less noisy than its competitors). I am very very happy that I purchased this car and I look forward to many great times ahead in my zoom-zoom!

Bought my '04 6S 5-speed in January 06 with only 5500 miles on it; I've put 11K on it since then and have had no major problems. V6 has plenty of power, you just have to let it rev to get to it. Suspension is by far best in class for handling, almost as good as a BMW. Almost. Ride is fine on highways, but rough over city pavement, but that's not what it was built for so who cares. Comfy interior, fantastic seats, but climate control has mind of its own and is usually too cold. 3rd gear grouches when you rush your 2-3 shift, other than that gearbox is fine, shifts are relatively quick but clutch is pretty heavy for a family sedan. Mileage is crappy, I get 20 MPG (highway commute).

Yes, you get a lot for your money here. In my case Mazda was taking $4K off sticker to move a few of these and I was able to get the dealer to reduce his cut as well. But there's a price. After about 9K miles my front rotors are warped. Lately the car has started to stall immediately after being started in the morning. The interior rattles and buzzing speaker enclosures were annoying from day 1 and seem to be getting worse. Matter of fact, I put it in the shop this afternoon and got a Dodge Neon as a loaner. The Neon has a smoother ride and it doesn't rattle. That's pretty sad! I was planning on this car purchase being a long-term keeper but I don't think that's going to happen.

I fell in love on the test drive. All the fun interior toys, the spaciousness, the comfort, the styling, the quiet engine, the power! After a few months I noticed the engine lagged while it shifted gears, and it even shut itself off once. Not good. Then I took it in with all my complaints and they found a defective throttle body. If I had driven it much longer I could have done some serious damage to the engine. Now it's fixed and it's like having a new car again. I'm still in love. I tested it once in the semi-snowy/icy Cascadia Mountains in Oregon and the traction control system kicked in nicely. I'll soon be moving from Nevada to Toronto, Canada. Can't wait to see how it does in the snow.

I bought this car new and have never regretted it. It is THE best car I've ever owned and plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off. With 73k miles on it so far the only things I've done were normal wear and tear items, new brakes, tires and a battery. I did have to have the radio antenna replaced because I knocked the old one off while washing the car. She still looks great and I get lots of comments on how nice it is. Not a rattle on her and she drives like a dream. It's a shame that the big 3 can't build them this good. Sporty style with a very comfortable interior. I'm 6' and weigh 280 pounds and am very comfortable in this car.

Well, I was once stuck between a TSX and Mazda 6, however, I went with the Mazda6 considering its aggressive exterior and unique interior modeling, including its much lower price tag. Plus, it was a V6 as opposed to Acura's "weeny" I-4. That's all I have to say. :=) Plus there were way too many TSX's on the streets. If it wasn't for this last detail, I might safely say my dad would have wanted me to get the TSX. Nevertheless, in general, I wanted a more manly car and here I am today.

The 6s is a blast to drive, but the quality isn't very good. I have under 6000 miles on the car and have had to have the dash board, the steering column, the center console, the radio, and the defroster replaced. The problem has come back among other terrible rattles in the back of the car along with problems the technicians caused. Other than the poor quality the car drives great, just crank up the tunes and try to zone out all the rattles. The body of the 6 is awesome with the sports grille and body kits you can get. If I had to do it again I would have gone with the accord or tsx.

Yes, still a winner.Bought end of January, Pebble Ash Metalic. Unlike VW, Mazda 6 has been trouble-free. Starting to see more on the road. Would still choose over the TSX, Accord, Altima or Camry. Great handling, just rotated and balanced the tires, helped; amazing how many new cars need this from day one.

I stopped by the Nelson Mazda to test drive the Mazda 3 5-door. I loved that car, but my wife was concerned about cargo space on trips. Our salesman, Rob heard our concerns and introduced us to the S-Wagon. I had no intention of getting a wagon, but this wagon changed my mind! This car has a beautiful, sleek profile that screams performance. The interior has plenty of space, plenty of headroom, and is very confortable. The performance is terrific! The handling is exceptional and exactly what you would expect from a much smaller sports car. The BOSE 6- disc in-dash sound system is the best I have ever heard in a factory supplied system!

This car is incredible to say the least. This car performs incredible with the 4-cylinder engine with 5sp manual. You’ll want take the long way home, I find every excuse to drive this car. This is the best handling car that can actually fit 5 full size adults for under $30k period. The handling is far better than the Acura TSX. I option forgot how big the car is when driving it, it feels like a subcompact most of the time. With a starting price under 20k, its a great value, with every option you’d expect from a car in this class. To sum it up, an inexpensive car, that’s comfortable, that hands down outperforms anything in its class, and looks great.

I just bought my 6 wagon. Its great. I have so much fun. I had a Accord coupe 01. And I really liked that car. But, the 6 is a total upgrade. The handling is superb. Acceration is top-knotch. I was on the intersate the other day. And a mustang gt drove up next to me. The engine of the mustang was loud and aggresive. The driver quickly drove past me. So I said the heck. I will se what this 6 can do. I switched into manual. And I dropped into 4th gear. You thought that I had nitrous in the tank. Cause the car took off and me and the 'Stang were going at it. The 6 couldn't be shaken.

This car is fun to drive and more importantly it is number 1 in consumer reports safety tests. My kids are learning to drive a stick and we are having a blast!

I got my car to replace my totaled mazda b-2500. the only complaints i have is the notchy gearbox and various rattles but that's it. my mazda is rock bottom of the 04 mazda6 lineup- no moon roof, automatic trans, leather, multi disk player etc. but the interior design is very good and roomy. cars good for aggressive driving and sounds the part too. some say it doesn't get enough horse power and mileage but mine with a aftermarket intake has 30-40 extra hp and 2-3 more mpg, so don't change the car change the intake.

I bought a 2004 Mazda 6i sport sedan after having rented its little brother (Mazda 3) last fall. The 3 was so much fun to drive, I thought a little extra leg room and 4 doors and this would be a sweet car. I did a lot of research and every review I read recommended purchasing the car. The reviews that meant the most were the ones by owners, not tech guys who drove the car one time. This is a great car. I drive 500 miles a week in my sales job and this is definitely a driver's car. Handles like my old BMW. Purrs like my cat. Sometimes I wonder if the engine is running while I am at a light. And after driving a Ford Explorer (gas guzzler) this car laughs at gas stations.
