I bought a Mazda 6i (manual) last month. The seats are comfortable and adjustable. The tilt and telescoping wheel is nice. The cabin is generally quiet. Cargo space is more than enough. The handling is great and I now understand what people mean by a car ‘communicating’ with its driver. Shifting in lower gears is a bit of a pain at times, and with low end torque not special, the car is most fun once in 3rd gear. Braking is solid. Sweeping curves are a lot of fun. Gas mileage is good. I have yet to see another Mazda6 on the road since I bought it almost a month ago. Uniqueness, is a very good thing in my opinion.

I've had this car for about 7 months and I have loved every minute of it. It was a true head turner. Outstide of the looks, the performance is top notch. I have the 4-cylinder manual transmission and it is just a fun car to drive. The cornering is tremendous, the kick at 3000 rpms is a true crowd pleaser, and the overall responsiveness of the car is great. Anybody that wants to know about this car should check that out and most of you're questions will be answered. Well I've gone on long enough about the car, but there is just so much to say. If you have any further quesitons feel free to go to the forum (www.mazda6club.com).

NICE SPORTS SEDAN

Of course the Acura tsx or a Volvo S40 looked good and felt better when I drove them but did I want to spend that kind of money just to get from point A to B NO! I was going to purchase a Honda Accord considering good reviews. So the Accord was my choice amongst midsize sedans. But the ugly style of the '04 Accord didnt' do it for me, I wanted a more male, sporty car to drive. The Nissan's altima was like driving a cheap car and the Camary was just too much for the car you were getting. So the 6 was the one I purchased. The handling is just great and the power you get for the price you pay is just perfect.

the respose rate of 4-cylinder is not fast enough during acceleration. sport- type automatic transmission is not smooth enough. So if you know shift stick and have money to get a S-model, you'll have a perfect car!!

After a lot of research, we bought our first Mazda. A sepang green metallic Mazda 6 with the sport package. After taking it on the first long weekend trip, we are amazed at the excellent gas mileage it got. We were concerned about pick up being that it was a V4, but our worries were put to rest. We traveled on heavy traffic highways, and passed any vehicle with ease. There were many times we caught ourselves going 80 without even realizing it, that is how smooth and powerful the ride was. We would recommend this vehicle to anyone, without hesitation, and that is what we didn't have with this Mazda 6 ......hesitation :) zoom - zoom

Lots of features in an attractive package. Reliability unfortunately has declined just as Consumer Reports has indicated in the 6. Throttle problems and now a malfunction in the Bose stereo. A few rattles as well. My previous '90 MX-6 GT was a better car, actually the best car I ever owned. May trade it for a Toyota. I bought it due to the safety ratings.

I love my 2003 MAzda6i. As soon as i got in this car for a test drive i fell in love! The way it looked inside and out, the sporty feel, the automanual transmission, and just the little features that most car company's just look over (like the steering wheel controls)all of this made me a buyer. I love it when i go somewhere and people are looking at my car and they go "what is that?" Then they say "man that thing is sharp!" My husband and i fight over who is going to get to drive it for the day :-). As long as this car is reliable i will have it for a while.

Definitely fun to drive. I've driven domestics for the past 35 years & put a lot of research into my most recent purchase. Test drove GM, Ford, Toyota, Nissan & Honda. Nothing was better than the loaded Mazda6s unless I wanted to spend an extra six grand! Love the car...Dealership? Questionable at best. If I purchase another Mazda it will be at a different dealer!

At 3,400 miles the car was struck in the rear on a highway and sent head on into a concrete barrier at near full highway speed. Every crumple point gave and passenger compartment stayed intact. Front was gone and part of the driver rear panel was embedded in the hood of the car that hit me. Was worth every star in its 5 star rating. Super built car for safety. Going to get another.

Bought the 6 wagon after looking at the Subaru forester xt and the Legacy GT wagon, and a used a4 avant. The 6 was by far the best value, I could not make my self spend another $7000 for the Subie.... So far the car has been exceptional. Handels supurbly, acceleration is great fuel economy is actually really pretty good, depending on how you drive of course. Stlye was the best out of the cars I was looking at and comfort fit and finish are also sweet. I got the most basic 6 wagon you can get, manual with no other options and could not be happier.

I bought my Mazda6 after selling Cadillac Eldorado. Wanted something with Europinian design. Interior and exterior design 10+. Driving is fun. My Cadillac had V8 and now I have V4 i do not regret that I have less HP. For daily work commute it is one of the best cars on the market. Plus, I didn't want to drive what most people drive: Honda Accord, Toyota Camry. My only complain: after 500 miles generator broke. I was upset because this is not what you would expect from the car with only 500 mile on it.

The Mazda 6 was the car of choice. Great performance and a lot of fun to drive. Mazda has integrated some great technology into this car. You will not go wrong owning this car.

Picked up a 6s manual fully loaded as a Xmas present to myself after months of research and test drives. I am thouroughly pleased with the car's handling, engine and interior. The rear spoiler is a little disco for me, but didn't want to wait 3 months for one without. The buying experience was good except the haggling over trade in value.

I can't say enough how much I love this car! I know there are no perfect car for <$50k (or above?). But it's amazing to me how little you give up for how much you get in this sexy 5-dr hatchback! I can go to a $50k budget and there isn't another car that can beat out this package in every major aspect. The holistic approach that Mazda took to driving pleasure really pays off (see below for highlights). Beneath the aggressive exterior is a car that blends in the handling (and good looks) of a sports coupe, the luxurious ride of a lexus and the utility of a compact suv. Simply unbelievable!

My wife had a 2001 Acura Integra and needed a bigger car. After careful research, we decided on the Mazda 6S in Sepang Green and can't be more happier. The car is loaded with everything but leather and navigation. The styling is very sporty for a 4 door sedan. Performance and handling are excellent. The engine and transmission are smooth throughout acceleration and quite quiet. The interior is very roomy. The car has ample storage space. I like the spring-loaded rear seats that fold when you pull the levers in the trunk. I also like the fact that it is easy for me to change the oil. I don't think there is a car on the market with this many features for the money!

My criteria was a midsize sedan with high MPG, and very fun to drive. This car is fantastic. I get 28 MPG driving around and 32 MPG on a trip. The performance is great above 3,000 RPM. The car is also very quiet inside. I have never seen an oil filter like this! The 4 cyl has a housing where you replace the paper filter media. This media is hard to find and many places cannot perform an oil change because they do not have an oil filter.

I love my car. It hugs the road, manuvers well and brakes are excellent. I narrowly missed someone who pulled out in front of me. The brakes did their job without any extra handling necessary. It has a large turning radius but I wonder if it is built this way to have better overall manuverability. I don't like the gas mileage. The manufactor claims the car gets 26-32 mpg yet I can only squeeze out 25 mpg when driving conservately. I usually get the top rated gas mileage for each car I've driven. Mazda is directly to blame for this yet the government has freed companies up to lower gas mileage and the companies are now able to fudge it's numbers.

My wife picked this car out at an auto show because of its looks, but what a treat to drive. It seems there is the soul of a sports car in this thing! The engine is an absolute jewel, the gearbox delightful, the brakes linear and responsive and the handling excellent. The small steering wheel and quick steering are a nice touch. The interior is a pleasant mix of sport and comfort with great fit and finish - surprising considering this is considered a base model!

I was thrilled when I first laid eyes on the Mazda 6 in person, it looked even better than it did on paper. It had the sporty aimage I was looking for. The 6's interior is attractive and ergonomically sound. Both stereo and climate controls are easy to use. This isn't a pretender it is fast and handles great, with little cabin noise. Acceleration is responsive and the clutch and shifter are smooth. This car is quick 0-60 in 6.8 sec with a manual transmission, its .6 seconds faster than a V6 Accord. I know its not fair to compare manual to automatic, but you can't get a Manual V6 Accord sedan. At least someone is looking out for true drivers.

You actually have to pull out to know that the engine is running, because you won't hear a thing. A virtually silent drive. It hugs the road like no other vehicle I've driven, and with all the power you could possibly want. And comfort! More support and comfort in the seat than in the former Mazda 626, which I found lacking in that department. Extremely comfortable. No complaints.

This is my second car which replaced my Mazda b-2500 that got rear ended and annihilated by a hummer. Great speed, acceleration, comfort, I love the red display at night. The shifter is notchy but smooth engine. I am a very aggressive driver and this car suits my needs. However, the accelerator seems to have a mind of its own when cruising for 4th or 5th gear (it revs by itself) and the dealership cant figure it out. But this car has a huge amount of space and I will keep driving it as long as I keep my distance from those hummers.

I have a Mazda 6s with a 6 cyl and automatic. I have to keep looking at the specs as I can not get near the miles per gallon in town as they are stating. I am barely getting 12 to 14 miles per gallon. Maybe I have a heavy foot but I try to be easy on the pedal and still the mileage in town is poor. I was pleasantly surprised then to find out that the highway miles per gallon was close to what they had estimated and so not all is lost on gas. But if you are looking for performance and not gas mileage, then this car is for you. Fun to drive and some real pep when you need it.

I compared the Maxima, Altima, Accord and 6S (all manual of course) and the 6S was the easy winner. The combination of it's 220hp 5-speed manual with it's size and handling made it the most exciting car to drive in this class and price range. The exterior styling is more aggressive/less domestic than the others. The interior fit, feel, and design is on par with the Accord and blows away the Nissans. It is smooth and quiet but has "corners-on-rails" handling. It will guzzle gas if you zoom-zoom and the gas tank gauge is way too conservative. It is a must-drive if you are looking for a practical car to get your driving fix in.

I just picked up one of the first Mazda 6 Wagons available last week. About 800 miles into it, I am very pleased with my purchase. I understand the value of cargo room, but don't want to drive some boat that doesn't corner and gets crappy milage. Enter the 6 Wagon, with most of the cargo capacity of smaller SUV's, but with the ability to corner and accelerate without mpg numbers starting with a 1. The engine is a bit less torquey than I expected, but spin it past 3 grand and it gets fun in a hurry. The handling is stellar, as is the interior. It's a heck of a lot of sport, cargo room, features, etc. for the $. And I can still drive a manual!

I bought this car new in 2004 and love the way it drives. Very quick and fun to drive. However, there have been reliability issues including a clutch that just doesn't seem to catch shifting first to second, the starter had to be replaced and finally, the cable that connected my shifter to the engine snapped and I could no longer shift my car into gear. Very puzzling and the dealership had no idea why that would have happened. I really do love my car but wish it was more reliable. Also, it is terrible in the snow with all-season tires.

This car is a great everyday driver for work. If you can opt of the V6 it is worth it. However, I do a lot of driving in Home Health and miles per gallon is important to me so the 4 cyl benefited me. I like to do my own shifting, but in todays traffic pay the extra for an automatic. I looked into everything in this price range 22K and the Mazda offered more spunk than other manufacturers. If you reside in San Antonio, Texas go to the IPAC dealership and speak with John B. (Manager), Reggie A, or Eddie G. They were AWESOME!! I have only had the car a day so I cannot comment on reliability at this time. The car is great.. it sells itself.

I have driven a lot of cars and for 27000 dollars you cannot find a better car anywhere. The slick sporty look and the awesome handling only enhances the overall performance of the car. The car is great for every type of driving and would take it over a beemer any day.

Yes, still a winner.Bought end of January, Pebble Ash Metalic. Unlike VW, Mazda 6 has been trouble-free. Starting to see more on the road. Would still choose over the TSX, Accord, Altima or Camry. Great handling, just rotated and balanced the tires, helped; amazing how many new cars need this from day one.
