Great car so far. Fun to drive, lots of options. The Bose speakers sound amazing, the back up camera is pretty clear, lane assist is subtle but helpful, lights are bright. As for navigation, I didn’t purchase the card from the dealer, but off amazon for $75 vs $500 at the dealership. Haven’t received it yet but reviews were positive.

I spent three years driving this car and my lease has ended. It was my 3rd leased vehicle, and the best (previous = Toyota RAV4, Honda Civic). Maybe because of what I drove previously made my Mazda seem so good! The RAV4 was fine, but there was no "fun factor". The Honda Civic had the CVT from Hell. Took a week to go up a hill in that thing. Enter the 2016 Mazda3 iTouring. For a car in that class at that price ($23,000 sticker), nothing else could check all the boxes regarding handling, steering, comfort and even the Bose radio. The seats had great support, you could accelerate on a corner with minimal body roll, and the pick up going up a hill was instantaneous and powerful. This was a dream to drive. For me, I was happy with the technology, enjoying blind spot monitoring the best. I did not opt for navigation as I have little need for it. Phone synched with car with no problem. No Android Auto/Apple Car Play, which was fine for me. With a pair of good snow tires, this thing went anywhere-I live in Maine. The bad? Well, visibility sucks. The cup holder is too far back and awkward . Climate control is placed low, forcing you to look way down to see what setting you had on. The quality of interior materials is just OK. Piano gloss black scratches easily. The arm rest showed every little mark. The seats, though extremely comfortable and supportive, showed some slight wear after a year. Trunk space was good for me. Back seat space was tight, but I don't sit in the back and seldom need to put anyone back there. There were no repair/mechanical issues, which I would hope would be the case in any 3-year lease. The good far outweigh the bad. I turned in my leased Mazda3 iTouring in 2 weeks ago. I test drove the 2019 Mazda3. While it's interior and exterior are far more refined than my 2016 Mazda3, I personally did not find the "fun factor" there any longer. It's just too champagne for my beer taste/wallet. The lease price for a 3 yrs/36,000 mile BASE model was more than $30/month for the 2019 iTouring. I am still mourning the loss of my 2016 Mazda3 iTouring, but what a ride while it lasted!

Moving along in my third year of ownership of this car. Still drives very well and seems like an extension of one's arm when quick correction is needed to avoid an accident. So much fun to drive! Mileage is good, avg. mpg. @27 city, @ 32 freeway. I recently discovered that Mazda's engineers provided help for stopping when on an incline with stick shift transmission - will hold on a hill so that re-engagement with transmission is smooth. Very cool. Also, found that cruise control is also a speed control: let's you maintain the speed that was programmed by cruise control, which helps you from going over speed limit on streets that are mostly flat. This model and year have the "SkyView" technology that has worked so well in racing and overall test driving.
