Fun Utility

This vehicle is a joy to drive compared to the other SUV's I have owned. I drive 15-20K a year in all types of weather and I have complete control in all conditions without having to "shift" into 4-wheel drive.

Great Car

This is a great car for all types of drivers - moms, dads, singles, etc. It's roomy, yet sporty!

Overall Wonderfull vehicle. Smoothest ride of any SUV. Decent gas mileage avg around 26mpg on Mobil Regular. Good sound system.Great styling.

Amazing

I've waited almost 5 years to own an RX300. I can't tell you how much I love my vehicle. It was so worth the wait. The comfort, style, handling, as well as the added ammenities... I can't say enough. I love that it handles the turns like a car, and that it has the get up and go that's required for extensive highway driving. Friends and family agree that it's one of the nicest cars they've been in. For those that I've allowed to drive my car, they all agree that the handling is wonderful.

Lexus RX300

Great car, fun to drive, sound system has great sound although the sound quality is not same when listening to the radio. The gas milage is low considering the size of the car at 14 mpg around town, but the car itself more than makes up for the low mileage.

the "feel good" ride

we just purchased a used 2000 rx300, and loved it so much, purchased another 1999. i was a die-hard nissan fan, but i have to say this is a great ride for the money. drive one, and you will want to own one. one thing i noticed later, lexus has 2 sound systems. nakamichi and i believe pioneer. if you can, get the nakamichi - it sounds better, and has more of a "punch". either way, the vehicle is a dream to drive.

Lexus 300 Drives Like a 400 Series Sedan

This is my fourth year with the Lexus 300 and I couldn't be happier. I'm sometimes tempted to trade it in for a new one but, except for a few more bells and whistles, they are exactly the same. Great car! Plenty of room. My dogs love being able to roam around the back.

IVE HAD MY RX FOR 3 YEARS NOW AND IT HAS BEEN BY FAR THE BEST VEHICLE IVE EVER HAD. HAD MANY COMPLIMENTS ON THE VEHICLE EVEN FROM TEENAGERS. SITTING IN THE RX IS LIKE BEING IN YOUR LIVING ROOM, GAS MILEAGE IS NOT BAD FOR ITS SIZE, AVERAGING 22MPG. EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY. AND VERY QUIET AT 70MPH.

This is the best car I ever own. Ultra reliable. Lexus dealership is much better than BMW's, honest and warm but classy. A Japanese supercar.

2000 RX 300

The RX 300 has been without any problems. Build quality and reliability are excellent.

Best car ever! Still going strong in 2023

Writing this in 2023 with 180k miles - my parents bought my 2000 RX300 new when I was 8 years old. She was handed down to me once I got my license at 16 and my parents replaced her with a new Porsche. My Lexus has since outlived that Porsche. For a 23 year old car, it’s incredible how well it’s running and how great it still looks. It’s still my daily driver and I haven’t had any transmission issues or other major repairs. The door lock & window motors did go out 2 years ago, as did the brake light module, but all were relatively straightforward DIY fixes. I did recently fix an engine valve leak at the dealer which cost me $600. Other than those minor issues, I have not spent anything else on this car outside of normal annual maintenance. I hope my RX300 lives forever. I have been shopping around for new cars as the day will inevitably come when I’ll need one, but I have yet to test drive anything I like better than this old girl.

Lexus RX300 Transmission

After reading reviews I thought I would add to the pot. My Lexus RX 300 SUV transmission recently went out and is in the shop as I type. Waiting for the transmission place to give me an estimate. He has had it and had to break it down. It needs to be replaced he said but is still calculating the parts and labor. I hate to hear what that is...I thought these were long lasting cars if you kept up the maintenance, which is why I bought it. It has 170K miles, so I guess it did last a bit longer than some of the others I read on the blog. I hope it runs like it use to or better after they replace this transmission.

Best vehicle we ever owned!!!!

We have almost 40k miles and have never had to bring it in for any warranty work. Regular maintenance only but stopped visiting selling dealer after they tried to oversell un-needed maintenance items. Vehicle runs great, replaced tires at 30k. This vehicle was everthing we expected and more.

Solid 4 Season Vehicle

Excellent handling in snow and ice without having to shift into 4WD. Good power and acceleration for a heavy vehicle. Very Comfortable with a resonable amount of room. Good balance of size, power and economy to run. Vehicle is well thought out and a pleasure to drive.

REEEEEAAAAALLLY Nice

I get 25 bucks worth of enjoyment every time I drive this car...Solid handling, wonderful traction going up my "driveway from hell" during the icy winters in NJ, good visibility, great looks.

Always dependable. Very easy to get in and out, without having to CLIMB into, like most other SUV's. Maneuvers through the snow like a knife through butter!!!

Best Vehicle Yet

The most reliable and best functional vehicle I have owned. Works great in snow and wet road conditions. Super smooth auto transmission and decent MPG. Excellent back seat comfort and leg room.

Great vehicle but vibrates

Great vehicle, particularly for a SUV and higher off the road. Good for higher water in Houston roads. Engine vibrates though when car sits idle at redlights. Only feels normal when shifting into neutral while at light. Rear door has quality problems with fabric covered plastic.

Transmission Blues

Up until today I LOVED my Rx. It is just the right size for a woman to handle and still has power and style. But today, I was told that my vehicle needs a new transmission to the tune of $4,000...count 'em, $4 grand! Of course it is just 5,000 miles out of warranty. Wondering if anyone else has had this same problem. Called an independent transmission shop and they said they see it on this model all the time! Yikes, I'm thinking about dumping it for the MDX. At least my Acura and Hondas have always kept running even with 200,000 plus miles wracked up!

Great car/SUV

Moved to the RX from an Impreza GT (old shape WRX), and although totally different, I find the Lexus pleasing.

Surprised Me!

I was all set to buy a 4Runner when my wife slyly suggested we drive an RX300. Wow, what a difference! I was very pleasantly surprised by the acceleration and ride compared to the 4Runner. This isn't a sports car, but its still a very pleasant vehicle to drive. It grows on you. You start to appreciate the competent, well thought- out features and the very high level of quality. Every time I use the turn signal, I appreciate the "feel" of it. Its a nice car and it does what I need it to do.

Great Ride

I have absolutely loved my RX300! From the day I purchased it, it has been fuel efficient, reliable,always comfortable. I am buying the new RX330 because I have loved my vehicle so much. I am on the road all in high end sales. Taking my customers out with me has converted many into Lexus drivers. At this point I would not consider any other type of vehicle. The Lexus dealer has also made me feel like a very pampered customer!

Comfartable and excellent luxury car

Great drive, smooth ride, interior is awsome, Exterior is very nice and was appreciated by many. Looks great.. Drives great, Needs a liitle more power. Turning radius should be improved. Music system is awsome... Heated seats and Memory seats and very good.
