Linus our RX300
This vehicle is another example of the superb cars produced by Lexus. Nothing breaks and the maintenance service is outstanding I would own nothing other than a Lexus
Lexus RX 300 fun, cushy car to drive
I really love this car...For 35K it was way cheaper than most other luxury SUV's. The only problem I had with it was that the AC would go out, especially when it was super hot. Think Houston in summer. 100% humidity and 103 degrees. I brought it to the dealer in San Antonio who said they couldn't duplicate the problem. I later brought it to a dealer in Albuqerque who fixed the problem for free becuase by that time it was apparently a known bug. Also when I put sunblock on my hands, I got some on the black plastic thing around the console and caused the black paint on it to smudge and rub off.
Happy With the RX
We purchased it for my wife with 30K Miles and have thouroughly enjoyed it. I recently had an exhaust manifold leak fixed and I had the rear bushings replaced a little while ago. No maj problems and we enjoy driving it in bad weather as the visibility through the winshield is great. Pohanka service dept and salesman Terry have been great.
Love my RX
Have now put on 25K miles on my Lexus RX 300....still couldn't be happier after three years driving. Cars were just transportation before I got this now I have a whole new outlook on getting around. Also, everyone who rides in in loves it as much as I do. No repairs yet worth mentioning.
lexus rx300 after 3 years
turning radius is not as good as it should be, and gas tank is too small. otherwise this is what i consider to be a "bulletproof" vehicle. after 3 years, there have been no repairs needed. we replaced the tires after 20,000 mi, and changed engine oil every 5,000 mi. that is all that was required. all in all, this has been an excellent vehicle.
RX 300
This is my favorite car I have owned. It rides like a Lexus sedan, but goes in the snow without a problem. Great traction in the rain as well.
Smooth as butter
I am coming to the end of my lease on the vehicle. It has been a pleasure to drive. I've owned Mercedes and a BMW, but the ride and quality of this SUV can compete with either of the marque names. I do which the turning radius was tigher as well as a larger fuel tank. I have the Nak system which sounds great, but I find it a hassle to open the glove box to and change cds.
Solid and Fun To Dr
Fun to drive, reliable, great on the interstate, and perfect in the snow.
GREAT LUXURY SUV
This LEXUS RX300 is worth every penny...purchased used and is a pleasure to drive.
Well Built SUV
My wife and I purchased our 1999 RX with 32000 miles on it in January of 02. We have loved it ever since. I do wish the fuel tank was larger, but that is my only complaint!!! This is a great SUV.. even afer 3 years and 32000 miles it feels and performes like new. My wife and I are both over 6'2" and we even fit PERFECTLY in the back seat... a HUGE surprise. We drove tahoes and it seems as if we have more leg-room in the RX. Don't let the size fool you!!! While I don't expect we will ever own a new Lexus, we will never own another type of vehicle.
Best In Show
The RX300 handles as smoothly as a Lexus sedan - - no "trucky" feel to the car at all. It corners well and handles bumpy Boston roads without difficulty. It has none of the useless SUV gadgetry that you'll never use and all of the luxury appointments that you'd expect from Lexus. I'm 6'6" so headroom was a priority and I fit comfortably in the front and back with plenty of legroom. The interior is well laid out and attractive.
rx300 review
excellent vehicle. rates very high on power, comfort, quality. only bad point is less than anticipated gas milage, but still OK. 14-19 - city-highway.
Rattle X300
What a disappointment this vehicle is. I've had issues with the climate control system, rear wiper, sun roof, door handles, luggage rack, outdoor temp gage, cruise control, and alarm system. But the worst of it is the rattling glove box. I've been to the dealer no less than 10 times trying to have this problem fixed. The dealership has been very nice to deal with and they try real hard, but somewhere along the way they keep forgetting to fix the car.
Solid SUV
70,000 miles and no issues with this vehicle. Very well built with no rattles.
One good SUV
Very comfortable(U know just like Lexus sedan), very stable on hwy. Very reliable, no visit to the dealer for the recall or problem. Very usefull for cargo.
beautiful design
Purchased the car used with low mileage, Lexus fixed most of little problems related to its being previously leased. I hope Lexus does not change the wonderful aerodynamic design in favor of current trendy boxy industrial look (no fake aluminum trim!) The front seats cushion can be a bit longer to accomodate tall folks, a solid center armrest/console would be a good replacement for the flip-down armrests. Acceleration is great for an SUV. It's not a "real" off-roader, so stay on paved roads.
disappointment for 40k
Too many rattles, squeeks, creaks and little stuff to worry about -- very un- Lexus-like. Dealer talks a good game but usually does not fix problems on first try. Two service occasions have required me to return car to fix problems that they created during service! Hmmmmmmmm. Superb ride and suspension. Great drive. Velvet drivetrain. Beautiful styling. Great traction. Very good utility. I would try something else next time. Sorry.
comfort and quality
Overall this is an excellent vehicle for someone who doesn't go off-road but wants a less than full size sport wagon. It rides very well, shows excellent construction and has a super dealer network that treats you like royalty. The only negatives I have found are the short turning radius, more wind noise than I expected in a Lexus when on the highway and the plastic interior moulding/trim that is prone to scratches.
love it
beautiful car, loved the steering, efficient, not very expensive, great vehicle for a family to use!!
Overall Good Car
Nice car with small problems. Driver side mirror crack first winter (heated mirror too hot ??). Driver side rear door won't shut after car wash in cold winter day. Dealer tried to fix a few times but failed. I just avoid washing the car in cold winter day, unless parked inside garage. Fuel guage did not go up after fill-up. 2 computer chips replaced under warrenty.
RX300 input
Best Luxury SUV for the money.
Lexus RX review
My vehicle has not been as dependable as I thought a Lexus would be. However, it is a quality vehicle but costly to keep maintained.
Gorgeous "SUV"
I love my Rx300. I feel like I am sitting in my living room when I drive it. It's so comfy and the ride is outstanding.
Great Car- Bad dealership
By far the best buy in my life! I have been leasing new cars, but decided to purchase. This being the oldest car by far- Still stands out over the new cars like Nissan and Volkswagon(not that there bad cars, b/c their not) But this ride is so smooth is sick!
Our 2nd Lexus Purchase Was an RX300
I like the fact that when I am driving this vehicle, it doesn't feel like I'm driving a truck. It's versatile, looks good, and has the reputation that comes with a Lexus vehicle.
the best!
I love this car! It's the best car, fun to drive, very comfortable,I have never have any problems with it, my car has 94000miles and it drives excellent, I would recomend it to anyone who likes the good things in life.
Great Value!!!
At the convergence of great quality at a fair price, you have value. It is has plenty of power. Great traction even in the rain & snow. Very comfortable.
Still Gorgeous
She's 6 years old now and still seems brand new. Not a single flaw - ever. The paint polishes up showroom perfect. The leather is still perfect. I'm really appreciating the quality design materials and workmanship that went into this car. Much, much better than my 2001 Benz ML. (which I just sold out of dissappointment).
RX 300
I bought this car less than 2 months ago and it seems to be very reliable, however, the gas mileage is terrible. 16 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. With fuel prices as high as they are, we are considering selling it. It is also very expensive to fix or get serviced. I am one that likes to work on my own cars, but with the Lexus the majority of the parts you have to buy at the dealer at inflated prices. I would think long and hard about buying this car unless you can afford the gas and services.
Expensive with problems
I was so happy with my 96 ES300 I got an RX300 for winters. What a disappointment. Within a year I had it in 3 times for the same problem. I never had service other than oil changes on the 96. It rattles alot. I just had my 45,000 maintenance and feel as though I got charged $90 an hour for labor when it looks no different and I have no proof for what was done.
PERFECTION!
GOOD CAR!!! BUY BUY BUY!!
I love this car
I bought this car in 1999 and love it ever since. I recently purchased it after my 3-year lease expired. Overall great car, except for the fuel economy, though that's a problem with most SUVs.

Used RX 300
The best car I've ever had. The only way I could afford one was used, but it has been very dependable.
