I have mixed reviews on this car. Let me start by saying that this is my 3rd lexus, and up until this point I have been a huge proponent of the brand. I think in the past they have produced a superior product. That being said the GS 350 has some of those same characteristics. Superior performance, acceleration, comfort, handling and style. The downside to the model deals with the power locks on the doors. Each door has its own actuator that locks and unlocks the doors when shifting into drive, and with your door lock hand held key. Apparently Lexus used sub par materials in the actuator. This causes the actuator to fail prematurely. I have had 2 door failures in the first 70k miles. The repair cost for a single door is over 600 dollars. Needless to say my lofty vision of the brand has taken a substantial hit. There are some reviews as to why Lexus has not done a recall to fix this issue, apparently they do not view power door locks as a safety related item. very sad. I will no longer be a proponent of the Lexus brand due to this issue, and to their deciding that the premium brand that they are does not matter with regards to fixing it.

BEST car I've EVER owned!!!

To be fair I'll start with the only bad thing I hate. I don't like the "so called lifetime" transmission fluid supplied with the vehicle. I'm skeptical of claims stating that any vehicle fluid will never break down. Heat and friction will triumph over time and destroy the protective properties of any fluid-even synthetic. To be objective my wife is the original owner of a 2002 Lexus ES 300 with close to 300,000 miles and that transmission fluid has never been drained or flushed. The 2002 ES 300 dipstick says it never has to be changed under normal driving conditions (the transmission may last even longer if the fluid is/was changed regularly so you decide). The rest of the car is FANTASTIC and the 8 speed AISIN transmission itself is a gem in my opinion. I love the rev matching and V8 sounding exhaust note in Sport mode. In Eco and Regular mode the car is very smooth, quiet and steers effortlessly. The power from the V6 engine feels stronger than other 8 cylinder engine cars I've owned. The acceleration even at high speed feels as though it will "never" end. I keep the fuel under a half tank but above a quarter tank, removed the donut and carry a tire plug kit and keep my trunk empty all in order to save weight. These weight savings have allowed me to clock an UNOFFICIAL but satisfying to me 4.8 second 0-60 time. My plan to add lightweight rims, a carbon fiber hood with new springs and struts and delete the sunroof for more weight savings should make this already more than potentently fast car slightly faster. I even exceeded the advertised limited top speed of 142 mph in manual mode without a tune or chip. I wasn't able to max the car out but I've seen YouTube videos of these cars going OVER 160 mph STOCK!! Maintenance is a breeze and if you are mechanically inclined you will be able to do most of the maintenance yourself such as the spark plugs, brake fluid exchange, etc. which reduce the cost of ownership. Owning this particular Lexus (as well as many other 6 cylinder engines mounted in the same manner as the GS 350) results in lower maintenance costs than most 8 cylinder Lexus vehicles as well as the ES 300 series. Most people think that my Lexus is brand new due to the quality of the paint despite the fact that mine is 6 years old. So the leather on the drivers seat is beginning to wear thin but then I'm over 220 lbs. All of my friends who are my weight and over have drivers seats which are wearing no matter what car they drive. My wife's 2002 ES 300 seats still look brand new. So I think the leather in the GS 350 isn't to blame for leather wear but more so the heat and friction from big @$$es. If you can find one with all of the maintenance records and is in excellent condition after an inspection please buy a GS 350 EVEN if it has "high" mileage. Mine has over 96,000 miles and it drives EXACTLY the same and still passes emissions as when I bought it brand new.

Bought my 2013 GS 350 F Sport in 2014 with 28K miles. Now have a little over 60K miles and have had zero issues. The car handles great in all modes and conditions. Exterior and interior styling are best in class in my opinion. My only complaint is a rattle that I can't seem to get fixed and a bent wheel from hitting a pothole. Fuel economy isn't as good as expected but at almost 20mpg for an AWD sedan with 300+ hp it's worth it. Highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a reliable and yet stylish luxury/sport sedan.

Purchased my GS 350 AWD F Sport used with 34k in 2015 and it has been flawless. After 5 years of ownership I just did regular oil changes and replaced brake pads, rotors and tires once. Great exterior, awesome interior and handles great. The engine is smooth and has enough power.
