Worth the extra bucks

I labored over spending over 40K for transportation but got over it as soon as I hit the road. Did a 2600 mile road trip to Taos, NM within days and averaged 30.3 MPG doing between 70 and 80 MPH. Not too shabby for a vehicle with all this power. Ran midgrade fuel and never had a hiccup. Vehicle is super comfortable, quiet, smooth and powerful. The Navigation is a must have although a bit intimidating at first to use. The ventilated seats and swiveling headlamps are great innovations and extremely practical to boot. I have had to do some serious reading in the manual to unlock the mysteries of all the new technology but am doing nicely.

I agree with a writer's assessment about noises, poor highway handling and the so-so radio. The important problem is the highway handling. At 60 to 65 mph and above, the car seems to have a wobble, and the steering wheel actually shakes. I am still working with a dealer to fix this. From day 3 of owning the car I have had noises, creaks, rattles, whatever inside. Most of the dashboard noise has been fixed now, but other noises are coming from pillars or doors. I drive a lot, so the problems are very disappointing.

It might be a little early to make a report on this car, but when I picked it up, I was impressed.... Now I'm even more impressed. My wife & I had been looking for a few weeks for an upgrade to our existing mini-van with 200K plus on it. I kept telling my wife that I wanted a luxury car (with minimum road noise), something like an older Lincoln Town car! She kept saying that the Lincoln was an "old man's car", to which I replied "well I'm an old man"! We test drove a couple cars like a Subaru, Cadillac and a GMC Cross-over! Got tired of looking rather quickly, as they all look and feel the same after a while. Last week, we stopped at a used lot only a few blocks from our house to look at a couple of vehicles out close to the road that caught my wife's attention. I did not like either one and express to the salesman that they were all alike and that I wanted something to get excited about ~ like a 6 to 10 year old luxury car with low mileage..... He said he had one "right over here" that was a one-owner 10yr old with everything on it! He said they were asking more than I indicated I wanted to spend, but I should look anyway. I indicated that my checkbook was variable, in that it varied depending upon the degree of excitement!!! Anyway I drove it, got excited, went to the bank for a cashiers check and purchased a lovely 2007 Lexus ES with many add-ons/upgrades within the hour.... Only had it a week, but find something new I love about it every day. Took a trip Christmas to Portland, OR (usually 3 1/2 hrs) at Christmas on terrible ice-covered roads to see the kids. It took 7 hrs! I was so glad to have this car with all the traction control and safety features.... We got to know the advanced navigation system and a few more goodies during the trip. Continue to enjoy all this car has to offer and we got what we wanted - - - a luxury car with much of the depreciation on someone else!!! Everything works and we are still getting to know it.

The best value of any entry luxuary car

Owned for 1 month. I researched every so called entry luxury sedan out there. None of them had the smooth and quiet ride that I have experienced with the 2007 ES 350 Lexus. Before you purchase an entry luxury car do yourself a favor and sit in the back seats of the Infiniti and Acura. No comparison for comort. Only sedan that can comfortable fit 5 adults. Try that with the competition. When driving over 60 miles per hour in each car, You will notice some noise in every auto except the Lexus. Much smoother, cushier ride then the Infiniti and Acura. Fuel economy. I'm getting 23-24 mph in city. All hwy. was 28-29 mph. Using mid grade gas.

I have had my 2007 ES 350 since June 2006. Every few months I toy with the idea of getting a new car but each time I decide that I should stick with this car. It's the best one I've ever owned and I love it. The only weak spot seems to be the brakes. I have 77k miles and have had to replace the brakes twice. I do not ride the brakes or use many hills. Past cars have never needed new brakes - they were all sold at about 55k miles. This car is quite and beautifully made. Add to that the fact that the dealership service department is outstanding and I just can't part with it.

Great ride and very dependable. Prior car was a BMW 5 Series. Recently decided to keep the 2007 Lexus for two reasons -- Still very much like the car and have had no problems with it and, second, did not like at all the design on the new Lexus, especially the front grill. As of April, 2021, the above review is still appropriate. After 15 years, will still keep the car - still a great ride

August 2018 Update. Lexus replaced the dash at no cost to me. Therefore, I am once again happy with the 2007 Lexus ES 350. The car has 150K miles and has had no issues except for the dashboard. The dashboard is deteriorating. It is sticky and has a bad glare. Lexus extended the warranty through May 2017 but I did not receive the notice. I have been trying to get local Lexus dealership to help. The local dealer told me it is out of their hands and I must deal with Lexus corporate. Corporate has basically given me the run around. They admitted there is a problem with the dashes but said they cannot warranty the defect “forever”. I explained that I did not receive the notification and never imagined it was an existing problem with Lexus & Toyota cars until searching the internet for solutions. I am very disappointed in Lexus corporate’s lack of concern and the local dealer basically saying they cannot help.

Not Quite Lexus Quality

The wind noise is a deal killer. It drives me crazy. The ticking of the motor on cold start is like driving a diesel. Many noises made by this car are not Lexus quality. The interior lighting is very moody and dark. There is no switch for the backseat reading light in a Lexus? There are numerous squeaks and creaks from the windshield and dashboard. My ES 300 was better.

Trust me when I tell you the car is a jewel. This is my first Lexus and I couldn't be more satisfied. Build quality is first rate. The ride is silky smooth. Interior is quiet and well laid out. I test drove the Acura TL, Toyota Avalon, Audi A4 & VW Passat and the ES-350 had just everything I needed. Good turning radius spectacular ride, excellent interior room and nice quality dash. I currently average 23 mpg back & forth to work and weekend driving. My only criticism to date is that the transmission sometimes hesitates shifting between 30-40 mph. I'll see what the dealer tells me about this. I highly recommend this car for anyone looking for high quality build and exceptional ride.

This is my first Lexus and now I'm hooked. Yes, the extras were pricey, but man they are worth it. The ultra luxury package and Mark Levinson package make a great car that much better. The ride is smooth and quiet and a beautiful interior; I'd rather be in my car than in my house. The Royal Ruby Metallic paint stands out in a sea of silver, white and black. This car is a keeper.

Car looks great, is quiet and comfortable, with many nice touches. Initial build quality was not up to Lexus standards - multiple trips to dealer to address creaks and rattles, especially in and around dashboard. Center console is uncomfortable (padding on top is too thin), and it is frustrating that the nav is largely inoperable when moving (especially as the voice recognition is flakey). Also, the standard audio is barely adequate, especially regarding bass output. All that being said, this is still the best car that I could find in its price range, given its variety of features & functions, and its quietness, comfort & power.

For the entry Luxury Car category, could not recommend more highly. Bought a 2007 CPO in summer 2010. Ruby/Tan appearance always brings praise. Quiet, smooth, with powerful acceleration. Maint: CPO-warr drivers window gasket, later a battery, MXV tires & shocks in late 2012. Mileage 21/33. After years of Detroit (no complaints) and 4 Camrys (run & run) this is the greatest stepup at an equivalent price (CPO vs Camry new). Love the comfort & non-ML sound. A Top Recommend.

This is my 3rd Lexus and am always super pleased with the total car. The smoothness of the ride and motor with an attractive looking car make it perfect. The Lexus dealerships aim to please and always are courteous. The maintenance records have all been problem free. I was hesitant about the push button start, but have adjusted to it very well.

I love this vehicle. It is just a dream to drive and hasn't given me any reason to regret my purchase yet. The vehicle is very responsive, floats like a cloud down the highway, has tons of power and is loaded w/ thoughtful and useful options. The handling is GREAT despite some review that said it is soft in the corners: Not sure what you have to do to get it to feel soft but highway on/off ramps are a snap at 50 mph, that's good enough for me. Other reviewers complained about the Bluetooth but it seems perfect to me. The upholstery, wood trim and leather are all smooth as butter, the engine is meaty and powerful and the cabin is quiet enough to put your passengers to sleep on a short commute.

I purchased my new ES 350 a month ago today. I must say I continue to look forward to every time I drive it. Sometimes I think it was built for just for me. The driving experience has been very fabulous, the creature comforts incredible, and my fav feature is that it's not Camry looking. I have the Nav system and it's great (first vehicle with it). Sometimes I just want it to get dark outside so I can see my HID lights adjust as I turn. Acceleration is much more improved over the ES 330 and the transmission is agile and responsive. You will not be disappointed with this car. I'm gonna buy a spoiler for it as this will complete the sporty look with the awesome dual exhaust. No regrets here!!

This is the best value on the road! I love the air-conditioned seats and the keyless entry is a great feature. Just push a button to start it. It handles great, the suspension is above average, but Lexus could make it a little softer. There is plenty of room in the back seat and trunk. It looks like the impressive luxury car it is and you cannot beat the price. If you ask any mechanic what is the best low maintenance car is they will tell you I never see a Lexus in my shop. I highly recommend this car.

This was my 1st luxury car. Looked for 18 mths. Compared to BMW, Benz and Acura I felt I got the best bang for my buck. No other vehicle had the ride. Mileage is unbelievable at 33 mpg highway. Took it on many trips. Currently shopping for the wife. Looked at a 2010 RX 350. Of course, had to look at everything else again. Decided on the RX. Nothing else comes close to a Lexus. Son in law is a mechanic. He says you can never go wrong with a Lexus.

Owned a Benz, Cadi Allante, Buick, too many to mention including a Subaru and this car is built, looks great and has not given me any problems whatsoever. The fuel economy, while taking premium, runs circles around most cars. 33+ on the open road, average around town over 22. I am not sure I would even think of trading it in on anything else.

I've had no issues with this car. Although I think the paint job could be better. The navigation system can take you on some curious routes but all-in- all it works quite well. Works much better than a Magellan while traveling around New York. It is much more comfortable than previous models. Has enough power and you feel in control at all times through inclement weather. You really can't go wrong with this car.

The car is nicely built. At 65 mph and above at highway speeds the car wobbles and the steering wheel shakes. The car has been in for repairs at least more than 5 times in two months. At the dealership they tested new ES 350 2007 cars from the lot, they all had the same problem. The dealership and the Lexus company cannot fix this problem. Lexus HQ from California cannot suggest any repair to this problem, they say it is the characteristic of the car and I should keep driving the car with the steering shake and wobble at highway speeds. I am totally frustrated with this car experience. Spending $40000 and asking for headaches.

I love my car but hate its electrical system. I have had a number of defects with this cars electronics and of course they have all occurred after the warrantee has ended. Lexus charges $150 just to diagnosis the problem. On one occasion the issue was a loose wire which feed all of the sounds the care made. sure enough plug it in and my car was fixed but i was down the diagnostic charge. Recently my car had the air bag light go on. I received an estimate for $8700. A bit hi since my car is worth 11K at this point. My local mechanic fixed the issue for $500.

I have owned my Lexus ES 350 for one month and have never been as satisfied over a new car as this one. Quiet ride, excellent interior design, and very responsive handling. There is minimal vibration through the steering system and visibility (including reverse camera feature) is outstanding. The interior amenities make this ride truly a religious experience. Also the dealership was outstanding and has an excellent service support record.

The car came with defects that Lexus won't fix. Seats are very uncom- fortable. Thin people bottom on on the seats supporting wires. Inadequate foam was used in the seats. Who placed the wiper stalk- you can't see it while driving. Auto lights keep turning dash lights on and off at dusk. Handling is poor at highway speed. Stereo is only fair. Horrible center storage. Minimal storage. Interior plastics are poor quality. Voice activated bluetooth doesn't like zeros. The car has rattled since day one. Poor quality interior carpets.

This car is ----JUST OKAY---- This is my first Lexus and probably my last. Lexus simply cannot be compared to BMW, Mercedes, or Infiniti. Lexus simply lacks the technology, built quality, and reliability of the other companies. Oil changes are expensive ($100+) and not to mention the 15000 mile tune up will cost owners ($300+) then again at 30000. Problems: 3 out of the 4 Windows have gone off track, driver door will not auto lock or open (key sensor is broken). And steering wheel leather if falling apart. Transmission is terrible, tooooo much lag when you push the accelerator. If you are looking for a family car for long trips, this is the car for you. MAKE SURE YOU TEST DRIVE FIRST!!

My dad bought a 2007 es350 and all i have to say is good job Lexus. This car is the best bang for your buck because you get the great gas mileage when you need it but also you got the power when you need it. After owning this car for a little while we had to get the transmission replaced. That is the only problem we had with this car. This car is very fun to drive and great for long trips. This is the best car for trips because you have the quiet ride and the great gas mileage. After driving this car across country twice i would not buy any other car. If you own a Lexus es50 and you could either fly or drive across country if i were you i would drive.

I have had this car for 4 years. It is a weekend car. The car is fun to drive. But I have had the transmission replaced, when it barely had 10,000 miles on it. It would change gears with a major kick. After a week my vsc came on. About a month ago when I would turn my steering wheel I would feel clicking noises. So back to the shop it went and their was a defect in the steering rods. I also had a oil leak and a plug was defective so they replaced that. Thank god! This car inst what I use daily.

I bought this car right at the height of the accelator problem that was two years ago. To be honest, I was scared of the possibility that it might happen to me so I brought the car in for Lexus to fix the accelerator pedal issue. So far the car has been good to me, I now have 58000 miles on the car. The ride is smooth, and the sound system just very nice to listen to any kind of music -- rock, jazz, country, classics....I really like the car.

I purchased my ES 350 in June of 2006. This was my first Lexus and I've been very happy with my car and I had no problems up until this past week. My driver's side door handle pulled off the door. Until I was able to take the car into the dealership I had to snap the handle back onto the door. Initially Lexus was wanted me to pay for labor costs. I disputed those and Lexus paid for the replacement. I have purchased many cars and never, has a door handle broken on any of the cars I have purchased. The door was not tampered with there was no sign of forced entry. I believe this is a defect in construction.

Having owned a 5 series, (2) 3 series convertibles, and an 2003 Lexus Es300, I felt compelled to write about the 2007 Lexus ES 350. On to the good stuff, the 350 engine has all the power you need, much better than the lackluster performance of the es300. it does have significant body roll and a slight delay in throttle response (drive by wire). Than again it's a lexus not a corvette. The fit and finish quality is outstanding, the ride is very soft, no rattles, drives like a smaller version of the LS 430. Extremely quite interior and well appointed at that. If you like a real "luxury" car than there is no better. This is not a Camry and anyone who says it drives like one does not have a clue.

The car is sturdy, fast, reliable, and comfortable. I love that I never have to use the keys with the push button ignition and sensors that unlock the door when you grab the handle. The only issues I've encountered are the transmission seemingly skipping around 40 mph but I guess that's the intuitive response. The other thing is I don't believe that the paint job is the best. It seems to chip easily. The nav system is great but it at times will take you on some strange routes.

I bought my Lexus ES 350 about 3 years ago for well under $20K used. Only about 35K miles, which was almost unbelievable for a 2007. Other than replacing the tires and a tire pressure monitor, I have had no issues. Smooth, responsive, and lots of power. Now at 55k miles, I hope to keep it for at least another 50K.

I just upgraded my wife to her 3rd Lexus. She had a 1996 that was great and sold it to a relative with around 300,000 miles and it ran perfect with no problems. Then, she had a 2003 ES300 that had 204,000 miles she decided to give to our granddaughter. That one runs like new, seats are like new, and never any issues. I've been wanting to upgrade her to an Ultra Luxury newer model with the navigation, backup camera, parking senors, better headlights, heated and cooled seats, bluetooth, and the famous Mark Levinson stereo since she is quite picky about them. She wanted a pearl white exterior. I looked for close to a year for that perfect car for her. I had joined a Lexus owners group on Facebook, which was how I found out about the Ultra Luxury with every option available including a panoramic sunroof too. In my feed popped up a group member that had a Ruby Red Metallic Ultra Luxury 2007 in great condition for sale for only $9,300. I immediately messaged him for more info and photos. He was very nice and had just put new tires, brakes, and oil change on it. That's over $1,000 worth of new stuff done to it. The next morning, I talked to my wife about it and he messaged me that I better hurry and decide since he had tons of people wanting it. He said his bottom dollar was $8,500. SOLD!! I had it shipped to us. It looks great, runs perfect, smooth as silk, 62 more horsepower and better gas mileage!! I love it. I've been pampering it ever since we got it. Lots of power!! You will love it!!!

I was looking for a quiet car with Sirius Satellite that would make my many long days of driving less painful. After checking Acura and Infiniti I went with the ES, and I am very happy with my choice. The ride is quiet, the engine powerful, and I am getting 27 MPG. Can't beat that.

Yep, it is the best car I ever owned, I traded my 2008 Chevy Impala LT that I bought new for a yes used Lexus with 25,000 miles on it 10,000 miles less than the Chevy and a year older, it came with a bumper to bumper warranty for 100,000 miles from Lexus...You don't drive a Lexus, it's more like you wear it, it's part of you when you drive and it will make a better driver out of you, because you don't mind slowing down for others because you know in seconds you can be up to speed again and with the auto/man shift 6 speed, this makes it like a real sports car and handeling is a snap. Braking like you have never seen and with all the safety features I got a $350.00 year discount from my Insurance.

I traded a three month old Mercedes E320 CDI for this this Lexus ES 350 Ultra and couldn't be happier. The MB was a technical dinosour compared to the Lexus. For less money I got better quality, more comfort and luxury appointments, and vastly superior tech options. The Lexus nav system makes the MB system look like it was stolen out of a Yugo, and the voice command and bluetooth features found in the Lexus weren't even available in my MB. I've got a very bad back that makes it difficult to sit in a car seat for long periods, but I've driven this car 5 to 6 hours in pure comfort. Most of all I appreciate the after the sale service rather than being totally ignored as I was by MB.

The 2007 is a big step from the 2006. It has a lot more leg room -- important for someone 6' 4". Powerplant is far more responsive and transmission much improved too. The 2007 is a lot nicer to look at. Interior lighting is inadequate and center console is almost an embarrassment of cheapness. The double storage compartments of the 2006 are missed. The new one opens and closes awkwardly. Lighted garage door opener buttons would be welcomed. Getting average of 26 MPG which is great for a car with this much power. More fun to drive than 2006 ES 330.

engine noise and A/C problems

I have had 50 cars in my lifetime. the last five were the Lexus 250, 300, 400,330, & 350 since Lexus became a car. This 2007 has 2 major problems which Lexus has not been able to correct. #1 the engine makes a noise when cold that sounds like the tappet noise of previous years the engine idles rough. Lexus tells me it is the fuel injectors and is normal. My 97 Nissan Altima was quieter and did not make this type noise or rough idle. #2 the A/C covers my dash board area with tiny white specs. Lexus has change the evaporator twice and A/C filters numerous times. It is still spewing and I think it might be causing me a health problem with my lungs. I really am disappointed in the year

Overpriced Toyota

Traded in 01 Merc E class. The Lexus rides very smoothly but understeers severely and feels boaty on curves. The ruby red paint quality is pitiful with the slightest impact even with such items as cardboard or plastic scratching the paint surface. The car was supposed to be a Lexus CPO but came with several problems including warped front brake rotors, dead batteries in key fob, floor board shimmy, unbalanced wheels and paint colored wax covering prior owner's scratches which washed off during the first car wash. CPO may only be worth the warranty, the rest is a gimmick.
