Fit and Finish
They are not breaking any stereotypes about American cars with this Jeep. I really wanted to buy American and it seemed at first that Jeep gave you so many more options for the money compared to other brands. But the number of items big and small to break down in the first months of ownership is remarkable. From the ignition to the door on the thing that holds you sun glasses, almost nothing is too sacred for a trip of two to the shop. At the shop these problems are so common I hardly get a surprised look. I read in their propaganda that they are taking a hard look at improving the fit and finish. That would be a good start. We do drive ours off-road, and it is a lot of fun.
I should have thought twice
Since the car is brand new of course there aren't any major problems yet, but I can tell there will be a lot. It seems like the components are cheaply made. For example: 1) Exterior rubber trim is all falling off 2) Car is loud for a brand new truck 3) AC is horrible, full blast and not cold 4) have to punch the steering wheel hard for the horn to work 5) Acceleration is horrible: it lags on and off and decides to accelerate when it feels like it. Sometimes there is no response when the gas pedal is pushed down. Overall the car just seems like it's doomed. Luckily I leased it for 3 years and then I'm out. I've had used cars run better. I'm going back to Japanese models, they're better.

sharp and fast but...
It's fast and sharp-looking. Other than that, there's not a whole lot more. It's terrible on gas and bumpy roads not to mention wet streets and non-existent off-roading capabilities. Very uncomfortable and unsettling on long drives. Also, very boring interior.
Jeep Got it Right
My 2005 Jeep Cherokee Limited 5.7L with chrome rims, back-up sensors, back seat entertainment, satellite radio and 7500 lb. tow package has proven to be great fun to drive, comfortable for my passengers, and eye catching. The separate climate controls with duel infrared sensor works very well creating two separate environment. The MDS 5.7L engine mileage is 13 to 19mpg with smooth power delivery to all four tires. The tire pressure monitors (also in the spare) is comforting because Jeep displays the pressure for each tire right on the instrument panel. Jeep has integrated Bluetooth, CD, DVD, Sat Radio, and GPS on a single intranet bus. The IgKey is a small computer. It is my work horse.
Luv my jeep
This is by far my favorite car I've ever been in or driven. It's pretty much my weekend toy. I don't have one complaint!! Put LED tail and head lights on it myself. Looks sweeeeet!! I love to drive it. Sick of hearing people whine about MPG!! Why did you buy it then!!!! I knew what i was getting when i bought it. I love the HEMI. I think this truck has got a lifetime fan out of me. Thinking about getting a Commander for my wife. Haven't been in one, but I like the style too. Good job Jeep!!! Hats Off!!
