Great vehicle. There's nothing else quite like it.
Love the Santa fe hybrid, I have the limited trim that has a whole load of features that you typically find on a Lexus, heated and ventilated seats up front, heated in the rear, heated steering wheel, pano roof, folding mirrors, adaptive cruise and 360 camera are just a few of the goodies. The car is smooth, quiet and comfortable, great on long road trips. Good amount of space and excellent fuel economy makes it almost the perfect vehicle. There are a few annoyances like anything, you'll never find a perfect car! 1. The reverse warning is too loud and obnoxious, it's there as a safety feature for the hybrid system but it's insanely loud. 2. The cargo height is a bit high for dogs. 3. Should have the ability to turn off adaptive cruise control and have regular cruise. 4. No spare, only a fix-a-flat kit. 5. No wireless carplay, although an after market dongle solved this. 6. No ambient lighting or HUD, like the Calligraphy, would have liked the option. Overall I am very satisfied with the Santa fe and enjoy driving it and don't see anything to replace it in the future that comes close. Update: 3 years of ownership and I still like this vehicle, it has been rock solid and reliable. It still drives smoothly and gets around 34mpg. I really dislike the newer model Santa Fe, the styling is way to boxy for my taste so I plan on keeping mine for a bit longer, and it honestly has been the most trouble free vehicle I have owned. Great vehicle and a good choice in this segment. No regrets whatsoever!

2nd time better than first
This is our second Santa Fe (first was a 2008). We loved that one and stepped up to a hybrid. We like all the features (lane following, smart cruise control, blind spot cameras, etc). The fit and finish is really nice. We like the immediate torque available at slower speeds from the electric motors and the gas mileage from the 1.6 L turbo. You cannot tell when it switches from one to the other. I'm a pilot and I see a lot of aviation technology now appearing in cars. I am concerned it may get really expensive if this stuff breaks as it is way beyond a shade tree mechanic to fix but we shall see.

Luxury in a mid-size loaded SUV
After doing months of extensive research on all the top rated mild hybrid SUV's on tons of sites including this one, I concluded that this particular model year suites my needs perfectly. This is my third Santa Fe in a row. Consumer Reports rates this vehicle as the highest rated SUV of all, even Lexus! Rides like a dream! The EV battery starts off smoothly and effortless until the gas engine kicks in at around 45mph if you drive steadily instead of foot to the floor! I expect this car to last for 15 - 20 years with the Complimentary recommended service! A GREAT CAR!

Buyer Beware-no spare tire on Hybrid Model
I experienced a flat on my new Santa Fe Hybrid, only to find there is no spare/donut tire included with this model it does include a Mobility Kit (gloves, reflective triangles, etc.) And, roadside assistance to the nearest dealership-if it is after hours-you have to arrange for additional ride home. I contacted Hyundai this is their response:" Hyundai and many other automotive manufacturers made the decision to start including Tire Mobility Kits in some of our models in an effort to increase the fuel efficiency of our vehicles. The Tire Mobility Kit allows vehicle owners to remain mobile after experiencing a tire puncture without changing a tire. The system of compressor and sealing compound seals most tread punctures in a passenger car tire caused by nails or similar objects and re-inflates the tire." The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe gets averages 26-28 mpg, I am getting about 33 mpg on my Hybrid. Now, for another $600, they will install a tire kit. Never once stating it will reduce the mpg, the average cost of a spare tire kit is under 30 pounds. I don't see that weight reducing my mpg. I waited several years to buy a new vehicle, never did it cross my mind to check for a spare.
Great after 3K miles, only a couple of niggles
Overall impressive car - rides great, interior is amazing, tech is amazing. Impressions after 3K miles - SF Hybrid Limited PROS: -tech is absolutely amazing. From the cameras (and the clarity of those), to the safety tech, really amazing - drives really well for this class of car. Driving feel is very good considering it's a Hyundai at this price point, and a mid SUV to boot. Very tight. - interior is very nice for the class. Punches well above its weight here CONS: - fuel economy for this size car and considering it's a hybrid is terrible. If MPG is your most important thing, get the Rav4 instead...gas mileage blows this out of the water - for very similar size and price point. - this is a YMMV situation, but for ME, the driver seat is horribly uncomfortable and I have tried every position, including lumbar. Makes me REALLY miss my old Mazda CX-9 driver seat, which was amazing, even after 12 years. - "hybrid hiccup" - this one you need to watch out for. From a still start, sometimes the engine will just "not go" when you push the gas. I think it happens mostly when it's trying to start only using the EV motor instead of the combo EV/ICE. But it's freaking dangerous, so...beware. :D Doesn't always happen either, so it's almost more concerning bc it's not consistent. Still not a dealbreaker if I were interested in car, but a bit disappointed they didn't catch this in production. - I'm not sure I can recommend the hybrid version over the ICE version. I drove both, and absolutely loved the ICE. The pickup and power is just so much more convcing and confidence-inducing. Not sure the very small difference in MPG between the two options is worth the difference in MSRP AND the performance hit you get. HIGHLY recommend driving both hybrid and non-hyrid before deciding, AND looking at MPG comparisons between the two (after say 2K miles). Pretty small difference really. I actually wanted the plug in, but could not find one, and I think that would be the best option of all three. Overall I would give this a 7/10 rating. If the fuel economy were even slightly better, it would get a better score.
