I’ve had the car for about three weeks and love everything about it. It’s fast enough and it does not have any trouble keeping up on the freeway. All the driver assistance and safety features help with a very long commute in heavy Bay Area traffic. What I like best is the amount of leg room the car has in the front and rear seats. At 6’8” I can drive comfortably for hours and not feel cramped or worn out. The only downside I’ve found with this car is the rear headroom. But I’m alone 99% of the time so no issue for me. Great car. Super happy with the purchase. If you’re in the market for an EV that’s not Tesla this is definitely worth considering.

I love this car and can't wait to get rid of it

this car is fantastic. handling, interior room, speed, all of it. love it. there are two issues that at a year in, leave me wanting to rip my hair out and trade it in. 1) minor, and yet very concerning: the auto-braking/safety/whatever feature. it senses a "collision" and applies the brakes. no way to solve except to put your foot on brake and then on gas an resume. every. single. time. it has done this, the auto stop is what has almost gotten me hit/killed. it negates a competent and aware driver's ability to deal with situations. 2) far more problematic: more than once, I have run the battery down to close to 10%. low, but not actually "critical", in my mind. put it on the charger, went to bed. woke in the morning to find the car hasn't charged, and has in fact 'died' to the extent I have to use the emergency key and use a gas vehicle to jump start it (which thankfully I have but certainly that's probably not the norm!). like at 10% it's "too dead" to be able to charge?! wtf??? this is insane. beyond that, due to reasons I can't fathom, once I jump it and get it to resume charging, it stops charging every 20 minutes or so. "charging complete". uhhhh... no. and the only way to get it to start charging again is to go out and: unplug charging cable > close charging door > unlock car > start car > put car in drive > put car back in park > turn car off > get out of car > plug car back in > lock doors. I work from home, and this is still prohibitive and insanity. like this alone, I will happily return this vehicle.

I can’t believe we went electric

I continually told my wife that we did not need to go electric for a vehicle since we don’t drive that much. We searched for a new Santa Fe but while at the dealer we saw the Ionic 6. After learning about the features and cap abilities we decided to move forward. The biggest lesson I learned is that once again I was wrong and she was right. Because we don’t drive that far is the exact reason we need this car. It is so fun to drive and looks awesome as well. We installed a level 2 charger in the garage, approximately $700 for the 220 power and the charger and it is so convenient to just charge at home at any time. And wow it’s amazing how much cheaper it is compared to a gas fill up. So far after about a month I see no reason to think we made the wrong decision to go electric.

Ioniq 6 - A Very Impressive EV From Hyundai

Just for background, my last car was a Honda Clarity Plug-In hybrid that had a 45 mile range on pure electric. My previous few cars were all Lincoln MKZ hybrids. Before that, a Prius hybrid. I've owned BMWs, Mercedes, Volvos, Infinities and others. I hesitated to purchase a dedicated EV because of mild range anxiety and rapid changes to technology, especially battery innovations that support more range. But I loved the feel of the Clarity on EV and hated when it ran as a hybrid. So I took the plunge. I've owned the 2023 Ioniq 6SEL AWD for about a week and so far I'm extremely impressed. I get about 330 miles on a full charge without trying. I expect to get less during winter months. The ride is very solid and quiet. It feels like I'm driving a cross between a touring sedan and a sports car. Neither being perfect but the combination is pretty amazing. You can watch plenty of YouTube videos to get a sense of the car's features and capabilities but I wanted to highlight some things I thought were pretty cool. I've fine tuned all of my settings. I've used the various regeneration options and can drive without using my brakes at all. The MyHyundai app, including the digital key, works great on my Android phone. Lane centering really works even at lower speeds as long as the lanes have painted lines. On the highway, the car can pretty much drive itself with lane centering, variable cruise control and lane changing assistance. It can even adjust your speed automatically based on the posted speed limits and you can bump the automatic speed control up or down by up to 5 MPH. I'm sure I would have enjoyed additional features available in the Limited version but I am very satisfied with the SEL. Honestly, this may be about the best car I've ever owned.

700 miles review

Love the car; the sports version is zippy, the economy version gives 310+ miles range with AC on. Fast charging is free for two years The interiors are awesome with the ambient lighting really giving a cool vibe. The HDA, lane change and managing the lanes works mostly. This can be slightly better especially when changing lanes quickly I test drove: Model 3, ID.4, Bolt SUV premier, Model Y. Liked this car the best as a combination of build quality + drive quality. Software on Model 3 is better but I liked overall build quality of Ioniq 6 better.

I enjoy driving this car...It handles well and it feels like a luxury car. I took the car on a 2000 mile trip from the midwest to the east coast and I found that the driver assist systems worked really well. I like that the car's statistical information is in front of the driver. I also like that there are buttons as well as a touch screen that can be used to access climate and other car systems.

In just over a week, we’ve come to enjoy nearly every aspect of the Ionia 6. We’ve completed one 300 mile round trip with complete confidence. The adaptive cruise and steering assist are nice. I enjoyed driving without driving fatigue. The listed horsepower is not impressive until you punch the accelerator. The power is instantly transferred to the pavement and you rocket away. I’m very pleased.

Blows All Others Out of the Water!!

Bought my Limited RWD used a few weeks ago. Unfortunately for the industry prices are dropping like flies on these EVs. Fortunately for me I bought a 4 month old used Limited for a fantastic price. This is my third EV in 2 years. First was the Kia EV6 Wind RWD. Great car all around but at the time I didn't want to pay for the top trim. Also, I hit my head on the roof during ingress and egress which annoyed me. But overall, very good EV. Second EV was the Tesla Model Y AWD. Tesla being AWD of course was sooo much quicker. However, other than a fun driving experience and very good efficiency, the Tesla was not an ideal car. Too plain inside the cabin with too few buttons. Also, going to all cameras was not a good idea Tesla. AND... whey do I have to adjust my vents electronically??? Who thought that was a good idea lol? Again, while the Tesla does much of the driving experience right, they lack in all other areas. This is where the Ioniq 6 comes in. The Limited is amazing to say the least. It has plenty of power even in RWD form and is very efficient. The interior is down right beautiful with all of the luxury functions you'd expect from car at this price point. The two-tone ambient lighting is absolutely fabulous.. better than some high-end cars. The trunk isn't huge but honestly, I'll never go on a road trip so it's fine. The outside design is indeed polarizing, but I dig it for sure. My kids asked why our Hyundai looks like a Porsche... Either way, the car is everything I want in an EV. I might actually keep this one for a bit longer.

This car is amazing. Everything works as described. It has so many great features that I'm watching the "how to" videos frequently. The fit and finish is very good and the drive is very smooth and exceptionably quiet.

I'm driving an Audi etron and several other EVs over the past 12 years. The ride in the Ioniq 6 is fantastic and rembles the Audi's with airsuspension. In contrast to the Audi, the electronics just work. If you are not bothered by the lower seating position as compared to Ioniq 5/etron, Mustang, etc this is the car to get. And yes, nothing out there with the exception of the Taycan (100k more expensive) charges faster
