Its the car that got me started on Hundai
I bought my Elantra gt used at 45k miles, I now have 71k on it and I must say, it's lovely. The only services I've gotten done on it was the recommended stuff such as trans fluid, GDI service, air filters, brakes, and oil+filter changes. My family of 4 (including the dog and a <1year old baby) fits well in it, the back seat is a little cramped with a rear-facing car seat but it's not too uncomfortable during long 5+ hour drives. The stereo which I found out is rated at 225watts with 6 speakers is actually impressive compared to other stock speaker systems I've run into including newer ones and ones with 8 speakers. I have the base model with none of the frills besides the automatic, so my view is from the base model radio which just has Bluetooth and Sirius but that's about it, though it's good enough. I had the joy of driving the manual version at a used car lot with 121k on it and it was lovely as well, nearly traded in my wife's car for it I loved it so much. I do oil changes every 5k miles, get it detailed twice a year, and follow the recommended services for the car from the owners' manual. I purchased the extended warranty up to 100k miles and I'm worried I won't use it since nothing broke yet (knock on wood). For its class, It's strong and fast and boy does this car love to go fast, my wife and I will often find ourselves up near 80-90mph if we don't pay attention to let off of the gas. Since Hyundai won't be bringing the GT back this year I'm looking at the hybrid sonata or Ioniq. I cannot wait for Hyundai to turn the Santa Fe, Venue, or Palisade into a hybrid, when that happens ill be buying one of them since the car is getting a little small for the family. It'll be nice to have an SUV again.

One of my favorite cars
I have owned this car since July 2014 and have to say it is one of the best cars I have ever owned. No issues mechanically or otherwise as long as you maintain it with regular maintenance. I have had to change the battery and the GPS had to be fixed once, but other than those two things, nothing else.

Awesome reliable car!
This car has been nothing but reliable and good to me since owning it. I bought it used in 2017 with 20,000 miles on it and haven’t had a problem with it since. I’ve kept up with all preventative maintenance. Would recommend

Blown engine at 105k
This was a great little car until one day the motor seized. No warning. Oil changes were done on a regular basis. There is a known problem with these cars. Avoid at all cost! We were lucky that we had the motor replaced 100% paid for by Hyundai, but many owners are not so lucky. Look it up.
