hot car its probaly my favorite car as of the time being. I advise anyone to get this car
What's a review title?
Not nearly as luxurious as the Lincoln Navigator, but much sportier and fun to drive. Nearly impossible to keep clean as there are more nooks and crannies than any auto should have - let alone a off road vehicle.

A Fun Vehicle
I purchased a yellow H2 at the end of 2002 for the vehicle look and the fun I was told that it was. My wife hated this color and wasn't perticully interested in the Hummer. The first snow I went out with my wife and friends, she was won over quickly. The safety, and ride were a big plus for her. I think it is really a great deal of fun to drive. The ONLY negative is the poor gas miliage but the safety, fun, and ride more then make up for the loss in miliage.
off road
If you bought the hummer for its purpose, off road, then you are very happy and excited about its performance! We ran circles around other off road vehicle's, and sat in luxury at the same time.
I love my hummer !
Comfort, fun, style. You name it. The Hummer has it. Now my family spends a lot more time together doing trips to the Florida key's e.t.c. It's definetly worth every dime we paid for it.( Never mind the smile on my husbands face when I let him drive it!!)
Hummer is PERFECT
My Hummer is the BEST!
Excellence
I think that the Hummer is one of the best carin the world.
almost perfect
i enjoy my hummer, this vehicle sits high off the ground, visibilty clear,no blind spots-in the reverse mode, the side mirrors adjusts itself, and when in drive ,the side mirrors re-adjusts itself-very personalized- with a semi- reclinning nature for confort, that if you have back problems, this seating takes the stress off the back and you can actually drive longer in confort, which is the situation for me. the x-tras ,is very expensive-letters and the gas cap covering, will cost you a little more than $ 500.00 dollars. but i feel it is justifiable, after all YOU ARE driving a HUMMER.
exellent
Best Look suv on the road.off road capability
The tens have it!
this truck needs an overdrive but there is no other way to becom a member of IHOG.
its more than expected
There is nothing else like it. If your looking for fuel mileage buy a toy one. If you are looking for the ultimate on/off road vehicle, buy one. Its a UAV not a suv. Urban Assault Vehicle.
MOSTLY HAPPY
MOSTLY SATISFIED WITH MY PURCHASE OF THE 2003 HUMMER 2, PURCHASED IN AUGUST 2003. HOWEVER ALREADY GETTING A SQUEAKING NOISE IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR PART OF THE VEHICLE. ALSO, NOISE LEVEL FROM WIND SEEMS TO BE EXCEPTIONALLY LOUD COMING FROM THE WINDSHIELD AREA. ALSO REAR WINDOW ALMOST SEEMS LOOSE. P.S. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS VEHICLE 4 WHEELING EITHER, PRETTY MUCH BABIED. OTHER THAN THOSE ISSUES, VEHICLE IS GREAT TO DRIVE.
AWESOME
THIS HAS TO DATE BEEN ONE OF THE SHARPEST VEHICLES I'VE EVER OWNED. NOT ONLY SHARP TO LOOK AT, BUT A PLEASURE TO DRIVE. THE POWER ALONE, MAKES MY FORD EXPEDITION 5.4 SEEM LIKE A 4CYL. HANDLING IS PRETTY IMPRESIVE. I HAVE YET TO OFFROAD THE VEHICLE, BUT MY DEALER HAD AN OFFROAD EVENT AND FRIENDS SAID THAT THE H2'S STOOD PRETTY GOOD UP TO THE H1'S. I GIVE IT 2 THUMBS UP!!!
Family Vehicle
We have driven this vehicle from Denver to Vermont and back. It was comfortable and fun to drive. We enjoy showing it off and look forward to driving it in the Rocky Mountains this winter.
Love the H2
I had a deposit on it for 1 year. The dealer that I worked with was really great in keeping me informed as to it's progress. I had one of the first on the road and the looks of people who had never seen was was really fun! Every stop that I made was full of curious onlookers that wanted to see the interior, engine, etc. I can't tell you how many people (total strangers!) I let sit in it! No problems with it and it is very comfortable and fun to drive. Lots of great off roading experiences with it and it has unbelievable capabilities.
H2Oh yea!!!!!!!!!
Nicest, most eye-catching car I've ever owned. A joy to drive both on-road and off. The ride quality is as good as my wife's Toyota Sequoia. The gas milage is about 13MPG, but you don't own one if gas prices are an issue!
Fine Machine
Purchased this vehicle after owning 2 2001 Suburbans. Drove in complete comfort from WI to FL. (27 hours straight) Averaged about 12 mpg or about four hours between gas stops. Seating was very comfortable but the storage, even with rear tire mounted on the back of vehicle, was slight. Could use more enclosed storage compartments similar to those on the Suburban. Overall it is easy to park and very capable of everyday use.
Hummer Talk
Love driving this vehicle. Simular creature comforts to the Cadillac Escalade however, some creature comforts have been lost that are small but needed like a place to hang your jacket or load from the cleaners since there are no hooks anywhere and the center console is small inside and not functional such as light or plug in or tissue holder, no light in glove box.....little things My only other item is the acceleration is poor along with mileage. this thing need an additional 100 horsepower from the factory.
H2 an awesome vehicle
Best car I have ever owned. good ride and fun.
Better by you, Better than me
Took it in the mud and tried to get it stuck and couldn't. Nice power and much better handling than Lincoln Navigator. No where near as nice as a luxury vehicle. Hummer is sporty trying to be luxury. Navigator is luxury trying to be sporty. Both failed.
Nothing compares to you
I have owned 6 SUV's over the last 15 years and this Hummer is the best ever. I bought one of the first Hummer's in PA and heads still turn when I drive it. It rides better than my Range Rover,Is more comfortable than my 2001 Suburban and out-handles the M320 my wife owns. At 75 mph down the highway it drives like a lux. coupe I will never drive a different vehicle in the PA mountains.
HEAD TURNER
ALTHOUGH THE GAS MILEAGE IS SIMILAR TO MY EXCURSION I AM A NUT FOR A FINE RIDE. THIS VEHICLE IS A THRILL. I AM ALSO EXPECTING MY FIRST SPEEDING TICKET ANY DAY NOW. OUR FAMILY LOVES THE HUMMER H-2.
it's da bomb
i like it. the hummer is a beauty and i enjoy driving it.
Get A Clue
All of these reviews are complaining about the H2 because it doesn't perform well enough for them ON ROAD. Well, this isn't a truck for the ambitious city prick, it is a hard working and very capable off-road machine. When people say a class of its own they have figured it out. So my advice to the people that buy these trucks is don't expect to have the hottest off-road pickup furnish your luxury and ride needs when this truck is fully capable of terrain that you cannot imagine. NOT FOR THE CITY!! I would like to see your precious "luxury SUV's" get through the mud let alone the 20 in of H2O.
HUMMER FUN
This is a wonderful ride. It gets looks at every turn and is very capable on and off road. I highly recommend one.
my hummer
no problems at all
HUMMER H2
Can't get it away from my wife. Have had no bad experiences with this vehicle with the single exception of putting up with all the enviornmental wannabees in Seattle.
great SUV, but safety warning
I have had month to drive my Hummer and am generally and favorably impressed. My wife will be happier when I get the spare mounted on the back end. I found one potentially serious safety problem. THe front wheels are so far forward that when you hit standing water on the road during a heavy rain, it tends to plow the water up and forward in thick sheet that completely blinds the driver. The first time it happens is scarey. One needs to be prepared for this event since you will then experience 2-3 seconds without forward vision on the road.
Hummer H2 is the best car for the money
Awesome car! Great for money! Lots of room! Very comfortable!
Just too big to park...
I was so excited about this car when I got it. I was jumping out of my skin. The thing is HUGE in a good way. The problem is that the truck is actually just to HUGE in a bad way as well. I literally can't park in 90% of the available spots. I'm just driving around like a dork looking when I could have been parking even in a large SUV.
H2 for You
I have almost 7,000 miles on my 2003 H2. It is a Yellow, Lux with sunroof, brush and taillight guards, and 3rd row seat. I also put off road lights on the truck. I haven't had to do my first oil change yet. I have loved driving this truck through 5 states already.
Like Nothing Else
This is the SUV to buy. No problems. I traded in my 2001 RANGE ROVER, glad I did.
Hummer H2 is the best car for the money
Awesome car! Great for money! Lots of room! Very comfortable!
Love It!!
An outstanding truck from top to bottom!!
A great, eyecatching ride
The HUMMER is an eye catching vehicle that is surprisingly easy to drive around town including parallel parking. The styling is quite dominant, so skip this one if being in the limelight is a problem. Great in mud and snow, we have used it some wet and muddy terrain with ease. The H2 has typical GM interior which is somewhat lacking, but who cares? Very comfortable seating and a smooth ride has made this as much fun for passengers as drivers. Great dealer followup.
wait wait wait.... what was i thinking?
Why, oh, why did i pay 60k on a monster vehicle that gets pathetic gas mileage (people need to quit trying to justify this. Face it, $360 a month for gas is out of hand) and is a pain in the neck to drive/park anywhere other than a frozen glaicer. Dont get me wrong, I loved taking this thing off road, but i seldom stray the beaten path (same with almost everyone else who's driving one) so all i'm doing is wasting $$$$. Do your homework people!!! Planning to trade in on a Volvo XC90.
The Original! Never Duplicated, Never Replicated!
Even after all of these years, this is still a vehicle that I am absolutely obsessed with. I've opened everything from BMW to Z06 Corvettes to Trucks and everything in between... all I can say is this vehicle is very special to me. I have upgraded and customized just about everything on this vehicle to make it even more a one of a kind. 8 inch lift, 38 inch offroad tires, suspension built for scaling the largest mountains, upgraded engine internals, transmission and drive train. Upgraded interior sound system... every square inch of my baby had been touched with the exception of the mirror black body and paint. A 2003, and the paint still looks as good as when she rolled off the assembly line. Comfort; an absolute best in class. Reliability: A+. Built to last and withstand the test of time. Now that GM is releasing the Hummer EV... it has caused these vehicles to become legendary status. The original H2 was the most "capable" 4x4 ever produced for the consumer market. Nothing has ever superceded it in almost the last 20 years. That gives you an idea of the quality. I really wish vehicles were still still being built like this. A word of advice.. to anyone reading this because they're considering the purchase-- do yourself a favor ... GET IT! PLEASURE YOUR SOUL!! I promise, you won't regret it.

20 YEARS & STILL GOING STRONG!
We bought our 2003 H2 in February 2004 and have been extremely pleased with the capabilities off road as well as every day driving around town. It has never been used to commute but was my wife's daily driver for the first 10 years. Even after nearly 20 years on the road, it is still going strong with only basic maintenance of Only 1 set of brakes and rotors, 2 sets of tires, serpentine belts and idler pulleys, normal 3,000-mile oil changes, a couple of light bulbs, etc. There have been a few service repairs consisting of a few recalls being done within the first two years, The transmission and front differential were replaced due to internal issues within the 60,000 mile drive train warranty. Don't know how that happened...??? At or near 90,000 miles: a fuel pump and filter, an O2 sensor, an oil pressure sensor, one front wheel hub and bearing, and a PCV valve. Again, all normal items for this mileage. Needless to say, off-roading is a ton-of-fun, but does eventually cost money for maintenance of the undercarriage items. Due to off-roading and salt exposure in the Midwest, we have gone ahead and replaced all brake lines with stainless steel lines, new brake rotor shields, new transmission cooler lines, oil filter housing & pan gaskets, new fuel pump & filter, and a power steering cooling radiator due to salt causing rust through. Our H2 now has less than 95,000 miles but everything on it is in excellent condition and it has only cost us about $7,500 in maintenance and repairs over the last 10 years which is completely acceptable for ANY truck. Why would anyone spend big money on ANYTHING that is being poorly produced and over-priced today? Our H2 is still worth half of our purchase price today and will likely keep on truckin' to 200,000 miles or more. Now I do agree with other reviews that there some issues with the plastic door panels and rear hatch panel & handles, but otherwise it is a good looking comfortable interior and it rides & drives very nicely for 3.5 ton truck. I have to say that we have never found the A/C to be lacking and only recharged it once in 20 years. As far as mileage goes, its the same as any other Large 3/4 ton SUV, Large Heavy Duty Van, or Large Heavy Duty Pickup Truck. When it was new, I could get up to 17mpg on the highway only, 12 to 13.1mpg around town. 20 years later, I now get up to 13.5mpg on the Highway and 9 to10.3mpg around town. ( Anything over 70MPH will reduce your MPG quickly.) However, its still pretty good overall considering the non-aerodynamic flat front end & nearly flat windshield as well as the crazy good distinctive body lines. The only thing that we have always been aware of is that being a large, heavy truck you have to drive it as such allowing for greater braking distances. The engineers could have designed better braking at the factory. After we installing Heavy Duty rated Rotors and Pads it definitely made a bit of a difference. Next time I would add drilled and slotted rotors as an upgrade. Buy one of these Heavy Duty Bad Boys and keep up on the items I have listed. You will not be disappointed and you will have a blast driving it with a grin on your face.

CAN YOU SAY G-500 OR RANGE ROVER?
I expected more power for the money. I expected more colors (int. & ext.)for the money. I expected a more substantial air-conditioner for the money. I expected a more solid front end (nose) for the money. The truck was billed as more tamed and agile for everyday driving. This is not the case. It is clearly more suited for off- roading. I need off-road and everyday driving balance. As one other reviewer suggested, I shouldn't have bought it! However, I will replace my H2 with a Mercedes G-500 or Range Rover AS SOON AS I CAN UNLOAD THIS QUEEN OF THE PIGS!
Great deal
This is the best car deal out there! Better than the G500 Mercedes, reliable motor, American made.
GMC ruined these vehicles.
At the dealership, there was already rust forming on the undercarriage. The salesman was not polite and respectful at all. The ground clearance simply is not enough for true off roading. The inside is nothing more than a blazer or a suburban. The use of plastic for the bumpers is not up to par with the price tag. For the price range, aluminium should be used for the construction. A 6.0L engine should be paired with more than 8 cyl. To top it off, you can't get it in a standard!
ARNOLD WANNA BE!!!
It looks cool because its new. But now I want to return it back to the dealer. It's not practical. It's like going out with the hottest babe and showing her off to all your friends but she's a ding bat. I feel like I'm driving a BIG BOX. Oh well, it's just $60,000 bucks ding bat.
American Junk
The manufacturer installed suspension wrong, as was evident by the stickers on the springs, i.e. the left was on the right and so forth. 4wd was none functioning for 5 mos of ownership, dealership informed that replacement part was soon to be released.....still waiting.
Bummer Hummer H2
Whatever you do, DON'T buy a Hummer H2! We did and are we ever sorry now.
