What a Machine!
This is a true sports car. Not the most comfortable for day to day but who cares?
Great Car!!!
Wanted a roadster, fun to drive, powerful, but not a "chick" roadster. Looked at Porsche, BMW, etc. s2000 was best and cheapest in its class. Great handling/acceleration. Nicer interior than Porsche. Quality Honda all the way. Plus, I don't pass an s2000 every 10 yards on the road.

honda S2000 experience
i enjoy the vehicle alot its an eye grabber.the honda S2000 takes turns like no other vehicle that i have driven.
Awsome car
Best car I ever bought. Hottest car I ever bought.
An adult's go-cart
I thought growing older meant giving up the things of youth..not true. This baby is so much fun to drive it reminds me of my early teens running around my neighborhood in my A-bomb engined go-cart. A great value, I bought mine tax, license, delivery , everything for $33,153. Great handling, minimalist but nice interior.
AWSOME CAR
This car is a wonderful verry comfortable car. I would sugest it to everyone!
Fun yet not comfortable
I love this car, its sporty, fun, small, convient to park, yet its not a comfortable ride and its not road trip friendly....other then that its a great car.
exelent
its the best car and i love it i drive it with the top off even in da rain, snow and fog
Great little car
When i bought the car i did not know what to expect i was only 17 . I hade been building a 500hp mustang since i was 14 so the s2k was totaly diffrent.Bottom line this car rocks it takes turns like a slot car and sounds like an f1 car .I love this car to deth shur it wont run a 10 second 1/4 mile but it makes up for its lack of horse power with pure top down hard driving fun.
What A GREAT Car!
I had to get this car, it is so great, for the low cost, you get so freakin much! Me and my wife go out all the time cruisin just for fun.
as good as it gets
This is my 4 year of owning s2000's and every year I try to decide what sports car to get next and it comes back to keeping it, just cant find a true sports car for the price. i could write a long review but one must drive this machine to understand why it is truly special.
best convert ever
its an awesome well rounded convertable with lots of pep
Otter b. a. comfortable seat car
I love my car . I have always had trucks . But the only thing I feel that is wrong is the softness of the seats. I drove it to NC and I was not pleased with it . short distances is fine . You need to work on comfort on the bottom of the seats. thank you for making a great car.
Owned 2003 model - liked 2004 changes
We bought a 2003 model in August and enjoyed it. We joined a S2000 club and had rides thru the hill country nearby. We learned of the changes in the 2004 model and we decided to trade up to one. We got the new one mid February and are very glad to have done the upgrade to the 2004. The ride is smoother and with the larger engine it has a lot more power in the lower gears. I could not believe there could be an improvement over the great 2003 that we had, but I sure love driving it.
Just what I needed!
In rating this vehicle, I kept the scores relative to what it is: a well built, high performance, great looking, seat of the pants sports car. No frills, just pure excitement on the right roads. If you are looking for a touring sports car to drive on Interstate highways, I'd recommend a 350Z, G35 or Z4 over this car. I love it so far, and go through withdrawals on days that I don't drive it. BTW- it's definitely made to be driven hard on good roads, but have a good radar detector with you.
awsome
All I have to say about this car is that everything the makers did with this car is awsome. It drives good, Its fast,Its comfortable theres not enough good stuff i can say about this car.
love this car!!!
bought this car 2 weeks ago & have had people pull me over to see it... beautiful exterior body style & fun to drive... interior has everything at your fingertips... start button is really neat!!
Sleek and sexy
Just purchased a 2000 S2000. Vehicle has 20,500 miles on it. This car is well built and drives like a dream. Only draw back is plastic window in back and a pain putting boot over top. Stereo could be a better quality sound. Honda should have put the speakers in the side panel of door. This is a fun vehicle to drive that performs well and seems to be of good quality. Highly recommended. Worth every penny.
Fun to drive all the time!!!
Great for every day driving if you dont need the room .Theres nothing like leaving work after a long day and racing home. The quicker you get there the better, right? Fast is just half the fun, Letting the top down and looking cool is other!!!
Speed Buggy
After purchasing this car in Florida, I immediately drove it 1300 miles in 2 days to Pennsylvania and the only complaint was that I had to put the top up due to rain. Even on a long road trip the car is just as comfortable if not more so than much larger luxury cars. The biggest problem is keeping the speed with in legal limits (yeah right). It feels just as smooth and tight at 80 as it does at 35. The main warning is that there is very little front end clearance and you have to watch out for potholes and rough roads not to mention curb damage in parking lots.
yeah
This car is so cool. I love it, i drive it all the time and its great on gas and it handles so well not to mention that it looks fantastic.
my old mans toy
I am 58 years old and retired, growing up I raced motorcycles in motorcross etc. I live in South Florida and I've wanted another motorcycle for some time but this state is full of old retired people (like me) and lots don't drive well and they run motorcyclist down like dogs I test drove a lot of sports cars and had given up on finding the acceleration trill of a motorcycle with four wheels I found this thrill in the Honda S2000 with four wheels and disk brakes, 240 hourse power that shifts at 9000 rpm. Hang on and drive one.
The S2000
I have had an S2000 and is was superb, apart from when I hired one in America. The handling was desgined for comfort, and so completely destroyed the agile feeling that you get from a UK car. Buy a British version for the best enjoyment of an S2000. [PS, you also get more kit with a UK car]
s2000
handles nice, nice power, could use some more thoe.all around very nice neat comfurtable ride made from honda. I would buy another S2000 anyday. I would recondmend thid car to any one.If you like hondas then this is definaantly the car for you.
OUTSTANDING SPORTS CAR
Pick up on this car is great, though A little small for a 6"2 230 man it still has its on way to tell you dont worry.
Great Fun!!
Car has the power, stopping ability, and fits like a glove.
Best sports car under $60K
Wonderful package that performs much better than reviews in real life. This is a fun, intuitive, personal car that does all the things one expects from a performance roadster while being well mannered. On commute of 100 miles this car is FUN!!! The transmission is smooth as silk with short throws. You can easily heel and toe. There is adequate torque even at low rpm. When you need the power it is there in spades. The brakes are incredible.
never buy black
I said I would never buy black again. The last black rag top was a Sunbeam. Well I did, and I don't regret it one bit. In fact the car is black inside and out. Feel like a million in her and for a 72 year old, with cancer and all that entails, it is a miracle cure for me. Never had the top up and don't intend to. Wind is not a bother at 85, and at that speed, you can't hear the radio, so reception is not an issue.
A Fun Car
It is just a really fun car to drive. My wife would rather ride in it than her Mercedes.
honda s2000
More fun to drive than anything i had ever driven before. I was deciding between the 350Z and the s2000 and after test driving them both back to back, I chose the s2000. I love the way it looks compared to the 350Z too. There are too many cars that look similar to the 350Z with its "bubble" look.
i'm getting another one!
i leased a 2001 s2000 and am planning to get another! i just drove a 2004 and don't know if the power is improved or not. overall, this is a great car! i love that there aren't many of these on the road. for the $$, it's the best buy out there in the covertable market.
Honda S2000 - Drop Top Heaven
The Honda S2000 is an amazing vehicle. It's styling is the best of any car on the road. People yell, "Nice car, mister!" all the time when I drive past. That never happened with any other car I've ever owned, and I'm 47 years old so I've owned a few. The interior is like the cockpit of an F-16 fighter. It's a great, snug fit, like a perfect set of driving gloves. Every control is within easy reach, and every instrument is easily read. The 6 speed shifter has short throws that scream precision! The car's reflexes are razor sharp, and there is no lag time when you want to accelerate. You do it NOW! Ripping off 8 grand shifts is such a blast! And all with the top down. What a car!
Unbelievable driving fun
WOW! this is No Frills, Wind in Your Hair, Go Like Hell, REAL SPORTS CAR!! You can drive it with crisp sedateness around town, but with a little pressure of the right foot light a fire under a tiger. Its a dual personality with no conflict between the two. It will idle in traffic all day and get you to the top of the on ramp doing 85mph (and still give you 23-26 mpg). If you really really like to drive, you absolutely can't find a better car for less than twice the price. I can't say enough good about it. Get in one, press the starter button, and get those revs up over 6500 and then you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Honda S2000
What a beut comfortable to drive, hear and listen a must buy for any Honda fanatic plus a great car to pick up chicks in! I should know I married one!
WOW
If you want an awesome performing raw sports car than this is it. I say raw because it is a pure "sports car" that has been slightly refined from 2003 to be more comfortable, and it is. Honda did not sacrifice any performance in doing this, only to enhance the experience.
Tremendous Second Vehicle
Bought the 2004 S2K as a second vehicle to add a fun alternate to the fully owned, practical SUV. Tried a few competitors, but the S2K came in ahead of them all. Performance, for the price, lays all the others aside (save possibly for the Nissan 350Z). The S2K has become the vehicle of choice, but for bulk errands and carting the (large) dog around. The car is not for family convenience, but driving pleasure. Even a short commute is enhanced by the fun and, frankly, driveability of the S2K. Clearance (into work garage ramp and driveway) were no problem (slow and at an angle) for city driving, but the fun comes in on the open highway. Watch your speed - it takes you past legal w/o thought.
Best Value Dollar For Dollar
Hands down the best car I have ever owned. Reliable, beautifully engineered, a true joy to drive. The engine delivers all the power one really needs, the transmission gets the power to the low profiles tires with shift throws that are short and close together. The suspension is stiff, but not uncomfortable, the car really becomes an extension of the driver
Responsive at its finest
This car is very responsive to what you ask it to do. Great power for the 4 cylinder engine. I love the basic and non-accessory interior. The S2000 is everything I expected and more.
4 years of Ownership....Nice to own
Have lived with my S2000 for 4 years and almost 28k miles. Sporty car, perfect transmission, nice fit and finish and Honda reliability (zero problems). This is a car for people that want a sports car. Not a sporty car. Not luxury sports car. The car is exactly what Honda intended and it is perfect at that job. Only regrets are living "up north" and having to park it 3 months a year. The summers are great, top down almost every drive home for 5 months.
fun car
Great car! A little loud inside even with the top up and windows closed. Convertible top very easy to use. Rides like a true sports car and has the power to prove it.
Update after 35,000 miles
First review was after owning for 5k miles. Current review is after two years. I can again confirm this was a smart purchase decision. Tire wear is always an issue with stock Bridgestone Potenza RE050's, but dry/wet grip is fanstastic. Also had the opportunity attent two open track days....well worth the money to get the experience. The S2000 handles fanstastically. Grin from ear to ear..can't wait to do it again. Criticisms: Rattling from convertible top latches; second gear grind early in life, seems to have gone away unless cold temps; passenger seatbelt rattles on door pannel/seat One last note: this car CAN be driven in the winter. Snow tires are a must and work great!
Head Turner
Although it's the first convertible that I own I have driven several over the years. The pick up on this one is just fabulous. The look is classic sports car, no compromises. The seats are very comfortable and tuck you into the car nicely. The design & location of the radio controls is great. The car does skid when it's wet so it's an adjustment for me. Heats & Cools quickly!
2004 Honda S2000
Just picked up one from the first shipments from Japan! The handling on this years model is very nice with the larger tires. The retuned suspension makes the car glued to the road. A great bang for the buck! Don't expect much from the stock radio though, the sound quality is terrible! The seats form nicely around you if you are of average build. I've found that its a bit difficult to get into the car if you are tall (6' or over). I'll add more to this review (if I can) once I break in the car!
Girls just wanna have fun
I've only had the car since May and in the summer it's the best - but I live in the Northeast and aside from the fact that it's rear wheel drive, it really just doesn't like the cold - it's noisy and an even harder ride than normal/
2004 S2000
It has been a fun vehicle to drive. The car is like all other Honda products I own, high quality and very tight. It has plenty of pep and is an eye catcher.
Love this car!!!!
This is the best little sport coupe on the road, and the price is just right!
FUN
I LOVE TO DRIVE IT
super roadster
great handling, quiter, interior metal look is nice, overall Honda made a nice change.
