Used 2004 Honda Pilot Consumer Reviews
Pilot
I love my Pilot. It has the quality, comfort, style and is so much fun and easy to drive. I also like the space. I found while looking the leg room was limited in other SUV's we are a tall family and sitting in the back is no problem.
Great Vehicle / Great Value
This by far is the best SUV in it's class. The second that i drove it i fell in love. It has more than enough room and power.

Honda Pilot
Typical Honda qualilty. Best riding SUV I have ever driven (previous SUVs, 1995 Jeep Grand, 1998 Mitsubishi Montero, 1998 ML320, 1999 Jeep Grand). Off-road ability weak compared to my previous but does fine for most dirt roads. Interior is a pleasure. Ride is very smooth. I find the radio controls confusing which is a first for me. Plently of interior cargo room with rear seats folded down. Second row doesn't really fold flat so 4x8 plywood seems to want to slide out the rear door. I wish the rear liftgate glass opened separately but this is common in this class. Overall a great truck and well worth the money.
Cold Starts...Not so Good.
I live in So Cal and park my Pilot in the driveway. If it's a cold night it won't always start the next morning The engine will crank but won't turn over on the first try. It will start on the second attempt. Honda service states that this is normal for a lot of new cars today...yeah right! He gave me various reasons why he thinks this is happening, though I'm pretty sure he doesn't really know. He stated that all the Pilots on his lot were tested and all had delayed starts. This is not "normal" behavior for a car with 2000 miles on it. This is my third Honda...and if Honda doesn't make this right, it will be my last.
Still new, but so far so good
I've owned the Pilot just 2 weeks. so we''ll see, but so far so good. Dealer, Coral Springs Honda in Fl was very good to work with. If I'm allowed I will post further in a few months. The Pilot seems to have great build quality, good fit and finish. I like the interior layout very well, it's sensible with lots of storage.Very quiet running, except on freeway. I haven't punched it all, as manual advises not to in first 600 miles. 17.5 mpg on first two tankfulls, 50/50 mixture of city/highway w/o a/c running.
