2007 Odyssey transimission, brake, steering pump problem
This is an update to my post on 07/03/10 regarding the transmission problem with my 2007 Odyssey 40k miles. The dealership I went to told me that Honda did not admit there was problem with the transmission because the warning/engine light did not turn on. Eventually the dealership did put in a new torque converter. However, the brake issue was never resolved and there is still problem with brake even after they re-rotor the disc?. I think the dealership does not know what the problem is. On one rainy day, I almost hit the car in front of mine because the odyssey glided forward even though I pressed the brake all the way. I called Honda manufacture customer service and spoke to the manager
Great Minivan
This is our second Odyssey. We cannot believe the difference in refinement and performance over the '99, which we thought was a very good vehicle. Great drivetrain - smooth, powerful engine (drive by wire throttle is very responsive), excellent shifts. The audio system is not great, but if you want to spend a bit more money, upgrade with aftermarket stuff. Very cool NAV system (voice activated). XM radio was a nice touch. The interior is very well laid out, high quality. Would have been nice to have a 110volt outlet, but we'll make do. Also, I prefer the cruise control on my '97 M3 - why do you need 4-5 buttons to control it when one stalk will do? Great job, Honda.

1 year review- Great car, some "squeak" issues
Purchased the van in August 2010 as a used certified pre-owned vehicle. Mechanically, we have no complaints with the van; everything mechanically works well and functions as it should. It is great to drive. However, it has BSR issues (Buzz, squeak & rattle). Squeaky drivers door, interior plastic component noises and warped front window cowl which caused a annoying whistle.
OUR 8TH HONDA
Why did we buy a 07 Odyssey Touring R+N, well the VALUE of HONDA doesn't decrease like it does with any other van available on the market. SAFETY is the number one reason why you should buy an Odyssey, We get decent mileage considering that we drive a 4000+lbs tank. We have a 06 Odyssey EXL N+R with 33K miles and it drives and rides like it just came out of the showroom. So the 06 will have 150K in another 4 years. We could have gotten a ford product since my dad works for them but they would never hold the value. If they ever come out with a VOLVO Van we may consider it but until such time Its the Odyssey. Yeah it might be a tank, but it can do so much for so little.
Great for travel and a great work horse.
Traveling is very comfortable with captains chairs. The back row of seats can easily fold down and the captain seats can be removed so you can haul a full sheet of drywall or a full sheet of plywood. It's a very versatile van. We will miss this van because we are down sizing. Our kids are out of college and in homes of their own. Our remodeling is complete.
