Used 2018 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
Cr-v problems
Researching the 2017-2019 crv’s I kept hearing about gasoline in the engine oil issues. I called Honda of North America-they told me yes, they are aware of the problem but have no remedy and it’s not a safety issue. I asked if gas fumes in the cabin was a safety issue, they responded saying they were looking at it. We we’re going to purchase a crv but not now-Honda is dragging its feet and getting away with a potentially life threatening problem

Disappointment
This is our 3d Honda and probably our last. Completely dissatisfied - so much so we considering an early lease pay off just to get rid of it. Some of the issues: poor MPG - our best in eco mode with gentle acceleration is 23 and 27 MPG in town and highway, respectively, well below the advertised 28 and 30 MPG; short range - total about 320 miles, which makes the vehicle unsuitable for long road trips in remote areas; poor technology - on two occasions an incoming call that was not answered locked up the hands-free phone system necessitating stopping and restarting to reactivate the system; Dash board display lacks a brightness control and in some situations is excessively bright; poor instructions - as an example, the owner's guide does not teach how to erase phone numbers from the system. Bottom line - we do NOT recommend buying this car.

Disappointed
I have just received my car 5 days ago, the driver seat cushion is too short and not comfortable at all. Every day im trying to find a good position to drive and cant reach that! When you try to adjust the seat by tilting it, it only raises the front part which makes more pressure on the low back portion. What’s more depressing in the touring model they have ignored a very small details, while in dark both, indicator knob and wipers aren’t illuminated so at night you won’t be able to see them at all :(. When you backup and the car on the R gear the side mirrors aren’t tilting downwards. With a fully loaded car, these tiny issues are really a shame not to be there.
major flaw/fuel in oil in 2018....be careful
there is a history of these cars having an issue with oil dilution/fuel in the oil resulting in the oil reservoir being overfilled. this issue started on my 2018 at 2600 miles. My dealership has been awesome in trying to take care of this issue. Honda Corp had a software update for the northern states, this was performed on my car in Dec. 2 weeks ago I had a strong fuel smell in my cabin (I thought I smelled it in January but ignored it because I had just had the software update/fix and was trying to be optimistic, and definitely had fuel in my oil which had caused it to be overfilled....again. unfortunately, my dealership was not authorized to do anything for me per Honda Corp and the lady I spoke with at Honda Corp was condescending and rude. Since that phone call, my dealership has intervened and have spoken to their district service manager. I had my pcv replaced along with my fuel injectors and every filter including cabin. I just got the car back yesterday and am holding my breath. I truly love this car and previously owned a 2010 that I drove for 195,000 miles without any issues. if you google Honda crv oil dilution you will see what a widespread problem this is. China actually stopped manufacturing the CRV for over 3 months due to this issue and Honda Canada has extended the warranty to 6 years with no mileage limit.....I am sure they know the engines can't possibly last as long with this ongoing issue. it is very frustrating to say the least. I have filed a complaint with my state attorney general and they encouraged me to file a lemon law dispute. So, be mindful and check your oil often. I have never gone longer than 3000 miles between oil changes....

Quality car worth the price.
Comfortable car. Honda should give a 1/2 day class on all the electronics. Still not up on all it can do.
