Used 2018 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
My New CRV Ex Model
I love my new CRV 2018 The fit and finish looks sharp. The pickup is much better than my 2013 model-along with gas mileage. I do wish HONDA would offer a class to use new technology for us baby boomers . Slowly but surely I am learning about my car. I do miss my CD player-HONDA should still offer that option!

Don't buy the CRV car with the Turbo Engine
This car is underpowered. It drives like the most lame car you can imagine. If you are a dad or mom with kids and want a safe car this is acceptable as it is safe. If you want a car that you actually want to drive and have fun in when going up a mountain road, don't buy this car. Note, I don't need a sports car, just reasonable power. Yes if you punch it, it will whine and kick in the turbo and get you moving but even then it will feel wrong. It will deliver the mileage because it drives so unresponsively that you will indeed get that mileage you claim. I am sad that Honda once again shot itself in the foot. This lame engine will soon be failing and having all kinds of problems by year 5. Then, at that time, you will be stuck with the poor little engine that was overextended. The only CRV you can confidently buy and enjoy is the non-turbo 2.4L engine CRV LX. You will notice how much better that car will drive than the tiny winy whiney 1.5L turbo. If you do want the CRV LX which is a great car, you get very few advanced safety features, no Car Play or CRV interior pizzaz. Honda will more than likely regret this decision to go with this engine. They keep making obvious mistakes. We own a great 2006 CRV that had no mechanical issues ever, and drives better than a 2018 CRV. Honda has had some issues over 10 years: terrible transmissions in the Odyssey, oil burning engines in the Accord line, but this turbo engine is really bad choice for the last good car they had in their lineup. Undoubtably this was for Cafe regulations on mileage. They really need to find a better solution - maybe there is none except for a CRV hybrid or electric version. Maybe offer the EX, EX-L with a 2.4 L engine as an option and watch their sales go up again.

Great crossover SUV
I'm not a person that buys a lot of new cars, but a combination of my previous car of 15 years finally giving out and an unexpected windfall allowed me to buy new. My previous car was a 2002 honda civic LX and it served me faithfully even though I was pretty terrible about doing scheduled maintenance. This put honda at the top of my list as I was looking for new cars. I also was tired of not having any hauling space so I decided to make the jump to a CR-V. I've driven the car for almost 2 weeks now and here are the highs & lows. POSITIVE: amazing acceleration, good control, very luxurious inside, cool safety features, awesome gadgets (infotainment), ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) is awesome and works VERY well NEGATIVE: large rearward blind spots (compared to previous car), gas mileage not what they advertised (I am getting combined 24mpg even though I believe they claimed 24 city/30 highway ... my mileage is about a 50/50 split and I get 24), Active LKAS (Lane Keep ASsist) does not work as well as I expected (unable to stay in lane for even gentle turns on highway). Note that passively the car is very good about knowing when you are drifting out of lane, it just seems unable to make actual corrections that are anything but extremely slight curves. On the whole I am very pleased with my purchase, I'm hoping this car can last me 15 years like my last one!

Better than I anticipated
I purchased my 2018 CR-V Touring AWD in February, 2018. A few weeks after purchase, we got a decent snow storm in our area. The vehicle surprisingly handled very well with the Manufacturer Installed tires. The AWD system worked flawlessly and didn't skip a beat. I have had some issues with a rattle coming from the front end when going over a bump in the road. Dealer has tried to diagnose 3 times and nothing has come up or "looked odd". Seems to get worse in extreme humidity or wet weather. The comfort is very good for driving long distances. Entertainment system is decent as well. The full LED headlights are very bright and light up the road almost as if it were daytime. Braking on the vehicle with the HondaSense system is very good! Almost had an accident last week when a driver made an illegal left turn on a red light. Car stopped and all safety features seemed to work very well. Test drove a GMC Terrain Denali AWD as well. The GMC was a little more, but had more features. Stuck with Honda since we have owned them for several years.
