Used 2017 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
Retired engineers review
I have owned the car for two years. Two warranty items, battery died, replaced for free. Plastic piece in shifter cracked and failed. Dealer replaced in a few minutes. The turbo engine and CVT are impressive compared to normally aspirated step transmission power trains. The turbo has a lot of torque and the car just accelerates quietly and smoothly. It takes a little getting used to because it is stepless. Some designs and options try to make it feel like step transmission which from an engineers perspective makes no sense.

Great Riding
Drives like a dream once it gets going. A little lagging on initial acceleration. Seat is not too comfortable. All in all great 🚗.

CRV is a great car overall
This car offers nearly everything that we were looking for. The only thing that it lacks is height adjustable passenger seat. None of Honda's vehicles offer this feature at any level. Competitors (although not all) do offer this as standard equipment. Handles well in all kinds of weather. Rides comfortably on long trips. Update - two years later, we still really like the CRV. At first we were a bit leery of all the electronics as we had traded in a ten year old Accord that had none. Now, we appreciate them, especially lane assist and follow. The seats are very comfortable, the drivers side more so as it has height adjustment. The vehicle has done everything we wanted one to do including hauling things. We have had a glitch in the screen. Honda, as usual, has been responsive to our issue.

A great, safe, and economical vehicle. I love it!
There were some hiccups with some of the electronics about 6 months into owning my new CRV back in 2017. As expected my dealer took prompt care of the issue and since then it has been trouble free. I get 32+ mpg around town & 37-39 mpg on interstate travel. The Touring model is worth the money; it fits in everwhere.

Thank God for Extended Warranties
Was all good until it hit 82k miles. All the warning lights came on. Trip #1 to service, found nothing. All warning lights came back. Trip #2, changed all the plugs. One day later, engine popped, went into limp mode, all warning lights on. Trip #3, changed all the injectors. Been good since, now @ 84k the air conditioner died (and it's 87 degrees). So what will I do after they repair that under the extended warranty? Probably time to ditch it. Sad, because it is a nice driving vehicle. Always been dealer serviced and all up-to-date. Been reading around different sites, and we're also suffering all sorts of issues with my daughters 2015 Fit. I think Honda quality has slipped. Very subjective, but don't want a vehicle I can't trust.

Loved it at first
This was a better upgrade from our falling apart constantly dying 2009 Saturn Vue hybrid but it started to fall apart. The base model has barely anything to offer. Most of the time my phone wouldn't connect to my speakers. We drove this car across the country so i could have it for college and the drive was fine. Buyer beware of the uncomfortable seating for long car rides in the LX model. This is not made for tall people in the drivers side. The car drained it's gas super quickly. The battery died several times but actually just wasn't connected properly meaning the battery would disconnect from car randomly. The car doors felt cheap to close and there was a loud wind noise on the freeway. Honestly only made it to 18k before we traded it in for a new car. Upgraded to honda civic ex 2020. Not a CR-V fan anymore even though it looked nice.

Does everything well!
Rides, handles and looks great. The overall car is great. You may find other SUV’s that do individual things better- but this overall package can’t be beat. I am getting over 30 mpg.

What a deal...
The first and most importan quality of this car is such amount of features that you can get on EX Trim for a low cost; even I compared the safety features of this with other luxurious cars that not include them. For compact SUV I have to say that pretty spacious inside and finish looks made of quality materials. Very comfortable, good fuel efficiency and enough power. After more than 3 years of ownership I have no complaints and no mechanical issues so far. Update: 5 years now and I’m still very happy with it. The oil dilution problem was fixed on dealership at not cost and the only complaint so far is the infotainment system that once on 4 to 5 months interval gets freeze and we have to reboot it

Crv better than Jeep
Wife has driven a Jeep Grand Cherokee for the past 20 years. I asked her to drive the CRV. She did and she loved it. We bought two!
