No More Hondas
We had the first generation of the CRV and loved it. When it came time to replace it we looked at both Ford and the 2013 CRV. Based upon experience and Honda being reputable, we chose the CRV. We despite having the car serviced at the dealer don schedule and afterwards at a local mechanic, we were always told that our oil was dirty and that it should be changed regularly- it had been. No one at the dealership ever said anything about the problems with the 2013 engine. Last year at 70,000 miles the timing chain had to be replaced. It was just out of warranty and Honda refused to do anything. A month ago the timing chain needed to be replaced since the links were again stretching. Mileage 88,000 and another $1,500.00. Called Honda and they refused to acknowledge any issues with the CRV despite multiple reports of this problem on line. No more Hondas. The parts have gotten too expensive with the tariffs the attitude of Honda not being willing to help out when they know there was a defect was it. We bought a Ford. No more Hondas!! They are going the way American manufacturers were years ago when their quality suffered.

Terrible Full Beam Headlights and Cold in winter
I bought the 2013 CR-V because of how much I like my 2010 Odyssey. There is absolutely no comparison because the CR-V is so inferior to the Odyssey (sadly). Problems: 1. Full Beam Headlights are hopeless. The area in the immediate front of the car and at the sides is far too dark. It's almost as if the headlights point straight ahead and are elevated. It's a road hazard driving at night in the country where there are no city lights. Honda dealer replaced bulbs but no difference. Honda and Dealer simply deny there is a problem. 2. Car temperature inside is unbearable when temp drops below 20 degrees F.

Excellent balance of design elements--update
I previously posted that initial 2013 CRV gas mileage was good, not great. I may have underestimated Honda. Just returned from a 300-mile round trip to Ocean City, Md., with 4 adults and cargo area piled up to rear window with food and clothing. With engine warmed and driving a flat stretch of US 1 between Newark, DE, and OC--and keeping a steady 60 mph in eco mode--computer said I was getting 34.2 mpg (no stops or hard accelerations). To make sure there was no advantage in descending elevation, I ran the same route in reverse. Computer said I was getting 33.9 mpg. If computer is accurate, this mileage suggests very high engine efficiency --and better-than-EPA estimates. Impressive.
Good Car a Work Horse
If you're looking for a sporty car look somewhere else. If you're looking for a great all around this is the car.

Wanted to Love It - Won't Buy Another... :(
I bought my first CR-V earlier this year - a 2013 with 62k miles on it. It sucks! I've had the SUV for 6 months and have just put 5k miles on it. The suspension is super stiff making for an uncomfortable ride and you feel every nook and cranny in the road. If you EVER get car sick this is NOT the vehicle for you. The fuel efficiency is decent, I'm averaging 25/32, and I like the amount of storage space. In 14 years of purchasing vehicles this is my most expensive and worst riding vehicle I've ever bought. Add to it the fact that the factory moonroof, an option I did NOT even want but all the dealer had for used inventory, started leaking a few months ago and I'm stuck forking out ~$850 to fix it. The back-up camera has been ok but the bluetooth features suck for phone calls. Any time I get a call coming in I have to immediately transfer it off of bluetooth or the person on the other end says it sounds like a screeching static noise that drives them crazy. I've had several folks complain about this noise when on bluetooth. This issue takes away from the feature of having bluetooth for calls. :( I swear by Honda & Toyota vehicles all the way as Japanese craftsmanship has been unbeatable for me however this CR-V has really made me second-guess ever buying another Honda again. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this car to the dealer within a week of purchasing and they told me there was nothing they could do about it to remedy the situation. Very disappointing. At least Toyota hasn't let me down, yet. I knew I should have gone with a Highlander. :(
