Better than older Accords but worse also.
Not the same as a late 1990s Honda Accord. I do not think this cat will get to 200000 as easily or cheaply as my 1997 Honda Accord sedan 4 cyl/ manual trans car,

Excellent design, questionable quality.
Bought my Accord in the fall 2009. Have since put on about 5000 miles, the car currently has about 26000 miles on it. I must say that I am really impressed with the design of the coupe (not sure if they fell asleep designing the sedan). The coupe looks awesome and I get lots of complements. I have owned 4 Hondas and I must say that every time I got a new one, the build quality has gradually got worse. First, door seal came off, then glove box started to rattle, I am watching the rear brakes closely now as many complaints there, rear brakes at 35% but front at 75% interesting. Today I heard new center console rattle. Car vibrates @ 60-70 mph. What happened to Honda quality?! Looks is not all.

It will be gone
This is my first & LAST Honda. The VCM was noticeable soon after purchase and is only getting worse. Yes, I have been to the dealer multiple times and get the standard "normal" or "not noticed" response. The car surges even when on flat roads in cruise. In heavy traffic, it is dangerous. The drivablility is worse than my old cars were 30 years ago. Both front windows rattle as does the rear shelf-- which I padded myself eventually. I guess it was designed to allow even light drizzle to collect on the roof and empty on to the door panel.
Go for the Stick
Car looks great in coupe form. Would recommend to get the stick, as the automatic feels quite detuned. There is also a lag on acceleration, likely due to the VEM. 2008 models have many problem areas; rear brake premature wear at 20,000, improperly installed headlights and taillights causing paint chipping around the lights. Seats are too firm and leather is quite "hard" in character and feel. Lots of room, especially for the driver and passenger. Radio works great. Gas mileage not quite as good as advertised. Quality does not seem to be up to par as previous Hondas. Resale value for the V6 is unacceptably low. Rear window should have a rear wiper.
Great car! Big & nimble!
Family outgrew our excellent Mazda3. Settled on 4cyl Accord EX-L manual transmission. Unbelievable fuel economy! Got 500 miles out of 1 tank. Who needs a hybrid when this thing gets 33-35 mpg on the hwy! Car is huge, yet drives 'smaller' than it is. Great steering, clutch & shifter. Better fit and finish than our 2004 Pilot by a long shot! No regrets so far! Rear brake issue was researched prior to purchase and has not been a problem (21,000 miles on the car). Car could use a 6th gear but the shifter action is sublime. I have owned several Hondas including 2 S2000's and this is the best one yet.
