Used 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid Consumer Reviews
Great car, but not going to get 47mpg
I really like the way the car rides and handles, but it did take a few weeks to get used to the hybrid system switching and behavior (my first hybrid car). It is quick and I usually drive it in eco mode where it gets the best fuel economy (39mpg average over 2600 miles that I've kept track of). I use the sport mode here and there just for fun, the car is louder and throttle noticeably more responsive. Interior space is great as well as trunk space. All of the controls are logical and easy to use. Now, for the main selling point of this car, the fuel economy - like many others have said you are not going to get 47mpg unless you drive like a snail I guess (I've tried to drive very, very gently and still can't get more than 42mpg), so that part is a bit disappointing for sure as 40mpg (which I think I'll get my average up to, as it is 39mpg now) is way off the 47mpg mark. That being said, 40mpg in a big, fairly fast car is pretty darn good. It would be interesting to get a Camry for a few weeks or months to see how they measure up as far as mileage. However, base Camry is 3 grand more than base Accord hybrid, so that was an immediate deal breaker for me. Finally, it has no Android Auto/Apple CarPlay - this is pretty disappointing for a 2018 Honda flagship sedan. If at least they had made it a $200-300 upgrade, but no, you have to pay 4 grand more to get the EX in order to get Android Auto - that's just ridiculous, but I knew that before buying and decided to do so anyway, so I shouldn't complain too much :). Update on June 18th 2020... So, everything I said above stands. The car now has almost 16,000 miles and no issues with it. The fuel economy has improved slightly to about 40-41 mpg. I have gotten very accustomed to the way it drives to a point where normal gas cars now seems strange. Man is a creature of habit. Update on June 19th 2022: Fuel economy has continued to improve slightly, I am up to 42 mpg average, although it has dipped lately with a new set of tires (around 40 on the new set). I expect that to improve as the tires age. I did have the 12 volt battery die about 2 years ago which was replaced under warranty. Last trip to the dealer I was told that my driver side rear shock was leaking. Of course the car is out of warranty now and they want a grand to replace both rear shocks. I checked the shock myself and don't see any leaks so I'll hold off on replacing it for now. I don't notice any changes in ride or handling. I am still very satisfied with the car.

"The Breeze"
This car is my 4th Honda Accord and is my favorite already. I bought it slightly used, with 7k miles, and it now [Sept '19] has 17k miles. It took a little while to learn how to drive a hybrid efficiently, but since then it has averaged app. 46 mpg! And being in the 'Touring' trim, it has all the bells & whistles that push it over the top and is a real joy to drive. I call her "The Breeze"...cause she'll keep blowin' down the road for many years to come!

Love my new car!
Before you buy this car, you need to remember that it is a hybrid. You will not get the same power and performance as the gas engine version. But that said, this car outperformed every other hybrid I test drove. I do mostly city driving, but I live in a hilly area. For my needs the Hybrid Touring Accord is quite good.

GPS Does Not Work!
Since buying the car, I have had repeated issues with the GPS unit. It just reboots randomly while driving. Three unsuccessful attempts to fix so far, Honda does not know what the cause is and will only make attempts when the dealer can verify the problem. Since it is an intermittent problem that can be difficult. First attempt to fix. they did rear camera recall reprogramming. Second attempt, they did hard reset. Third attempt, after much persuasion, they replaced the gps headunit. Still reboots, now gps does not work at all. Blank screen, maps do not load. This is a major problem. However, other than this issue, it is a great car. Update Dec 2019: after 2nd gps unit change, it was ok. However, it just recently reboot again a couple times. Definitely there is a flaw in this system. I have a friend with the same problem.
