Good Car But Not As Good As Advertised

Overall, the vehicle is nice. It's spacious, comfortable, has lots of safety features, and looks good. However, even driving in Eco Mode and extremely gently, I have only averaged around 40 MPG. Not the 47 MPG advertised. Also, the transmission is bumpy between 40 - 60 MPH. It seem like it can't decide if it wants to accelerate or coast. This creates a bumpy sensation, almost as with an all gasoline engine sputtering. When I brought this up at the dealership I was informed that this is normal because the vehicles tend to over shift. If this is true, I probably won't buy another one. Other than these two issues, the vehicle is good.

16 months and 40k

This is the 2nd new car I’ve bought the first had more issues then I could handle in the first 44k miles, 2015 Nissan Altima SV. I bought the 2018 Accord base hybrid on a whim cause my dealer had ordered in this car for someone else and the guy backed out. I got the red one otherwise my dealer had it in white or silver or black and I could see myself in those colors. Overall it’s been a decent car. In the first 9k miles I saw fuel mileage average around 45 mpg with my 95 mile a day daily commute. Then the Midwest winter hit and mileage dropped to mid 30’s. The car definitely has a learning curve on how to drive it to achieve maximum fuel economy and after winter left I saw daily mileage increase to upper 40’s on a daily basis and even saw mid to upper 50’s on a short family trip under 400 miles. The Michelin tires barely lasted 30k miles and were horrible in any driving that had wet or snow or ice covered roads. I went to a more grippy tire after that and for the last 9-10k miles I’ve saw my average fuel economy slip to 40 mpg max and low 30’s with winter temperatures here in the Midwest. The one thing that disappoints me the most is the lack of ground clearance. Here in the Midwest some of my driving to see friends and family includes gravel roads and the car scrapes the road constantly to the point where I have worn a sizable hole in the underbelly skin on the car. After 40k miles I can say this Honda will probably be my last Honda as the quality doesn’t match the previous Honda I had (2007 CRV).

So happy with this purchase! MPG is great. I’ve been getting gas once a month. Body of the car is very sporty. Slightly loud when accelerating is my only complaint

This is my second Honda Accord after running my first into the ground after 18 years/250,000 miles. I'm very happy with my purchase. It's comfortable, quiet, gets great gas mileage, and is a great addition to our family. After one year of ownership, I still love my new car. I drive 140 miles/day on my commute so spend quite a lot of time in it. My only complaint is the lack of storage space that is easily accessible from the driver's seat. There's a space in the door, under the center console (which is where the wireless charger for my phone is, so it's generally already taken) and the center storage unit under the armrest. An additional cubbyhole or two for small things (like quarters for parking meters, etc.) would be nice. Overall, that's a very minor issue, and if offered the choice, I would easily buy this car again.
