Solid Car
Purchased this car to give to daughter. I have driven it the most , not a sporty riding car , but comfortable , quiet, good mileage, and dependable. Has a huge trunk and the rear and front passenger seat fold flat. One trip we filled the trunk with luggage , when we arrived thought we would treat ourselves and take a stretch limo from the airport to hotel ... the driver almost broke his trunk lid ( and our luggage) I recommended he trade the limo for a stretch Taurus .
Nice car!
I looked at Lexus and MBZ before taking a look at the Taurus Limited. I was impressed with its safety rating. I live in the High Sierras and we will get about 20' of snow a year. The Taurus does great in the snow. The Taurus is not an "old mans" car anymore!
Did I just buy a Ford?
I just purchased a new Ford Taurus Limited AWD, and never thought I would own a Ford since my Pinto back in the 70s. I was ready to buy the Avalon when I heard about the 2008 Taurus. Very tight and solid flat ride really suprised me. Ergonomics outstanding. A few gaffs like other American cars, but am seeing the same thing on some Toyotas and Hondas.
Researcher
After lots of research and looking we settled on the 08 Taurus Limited. Roomy, comfortable, good looks, features. still disappointed in gas mileage. Only getting 23 to 24 on highway, but just now hitting the 1K mileage mark. Hope it improves.
A Quantum Leap Forward
This is a great car. The engine and transmission are enough to make it a quantum leap over the 500 that it replaced, but the interior refinements, cabin quiet, and overall feel are as impressive. The name change was not significant to me but the car is a home run. It is very responsive, very fast and very smooth.
