Somewhat decent

This was my first car and we've had quite a few problems with it. Every winter, the car dies. At one point, it wouldn't get any power and kept stalling. Sometimes it just wouldn't start. Mechanics couldn't figure out what the problem was but it's doing okay now. Sometimes it still stalls and shakes really bad. The AC just quit working even after being recharged, the light's will not go back down (and one is dimmer than the other. Can't figure out why even after replacing it), cigarette lighter broke, speakers aren't that great, whole exhaust system had to be replaced, etc. This car would be perfect if it didn't have so many problems. It's extremely fun to drive and has a lot of power.

This was my first car, i got it with 40k, and now have almost 90,000 on it. Never had a major problem, only minor ones that i fixed myself. I get 25 mpg city/30mpg highway. Performance is good, and the car looks awesome with the chrome wheels. For an 11 year old design, this car is still holding its own against new cars. awesome handling. Would recommend this car to anyone!

I have owned My Probe SE for two years now. I have yet to need anything except two new front tires and regular routine maitainence. There is not a whole lot to complain about with this car, coming from the Mazda base, how could there be.

Fun, nice looking repair prone car

I bought my GT new. While it is a great looking vehicle ive had a few problems. Recently had the top and lower idler pulleys in the engine go. That would have been fatal for the engine without a little luck. At 50,000 miles I had the ignition distributor assembly go. The engine just shut off in rush hour traffic. $700 for remanufactred part. Radiator in 04. Water pump in 03. Spark plug wire set in 02. R/F and L/F axles in 03. The rear lift on the hatch loses it,s ability to stay up. Had that fixed before. The car leaks coolant and a little oil. My mechanic says don't worry about it cause it's not worth fixing. I know the car is old but it has only 60,000 miles on it. Fun to drive.

Eats Transmissions For Lunch

Check around and verify before buying one of these. I'm not making this up. Transmissions are known to fail, and cannot be found used and still shifting. Ford will gladly sell you a $3500 rebuilt with little warranty if you ask nicely. Babied this car, and it sits in the yard needing $3500 to move again. Just avoid it... Trust me, it looks pretty, but it's not worth it!
