The All New Ford Mustang

2005 Ford Mustang Premium 2dr Coupe (4.0L 6cyl 5M)

I am unhappy with the all new Mustang. In addition to poor gas mileage, I have had the gas tank replaced three times already. The pump was stopping as if the tank was full, as well as slow fill and spitting back. Dealership said nothing was wrong. They did contact headquarters to find out that there is indeed this type of problem with the vehicle, but not on all of them. They replaced it twice and did not work. Finally they redesigned it. Took 5 months to solve problem. It is a fast car with a great sound system. But, too many "characteristics" that take away from the car. Any problem that I have with the car, they say is a characteristic of the car.

Let me start out by saying I m Not a convertible guy. I’ve never really cared for the looks of them I’ve always heard that they are Windy and leaky. But I saw this ad for a 2005 Mustang GT black convertible. The kid said he needed moneyTo get a bigger house for his wife and New baby. Well I’m a sucker for somebody that needs some help so I thought what the heck I’d check it out. So I met with a kid not only was the car appealing but the price was appealing he wanted 3000 now the car wasn’t perfect it was a convertible and had a rip in The top but I’m pretty handy and I figured I could fix a little dings and the rip and so I beat him up a lil on the price And gave him 2800 bucks cash for the car. Now I’ve only had the car for a short period of time but let me tell you it’s tight ride is has 12400miles on it and it’s it’s the greatest $2800 car I Ever bought. Let me Telya I love cars I’ve had quite a few it’s a very nice car this is the third Mustang that I’ve driven the first to my moms and that was long time ago A 76 and 81 this one is a lot better so I’m looking forward to a lot of fun rides good job ford did good on this one!

Really wanted to like this car

I had this case for almost 5 years... I REALLY wanted to like it which is why I just kept fixing it. First thing I noticed after I bought it was a poor design voice, put shopping bags in the back and if one of the handles catches the emergency trunk release that just hangs there, it WILL pop your trunk while you're driving. The next thing that happened, I was in the freeway going a contract 75-80 and suddenly the engine started making weird noises and the wrench light came on them I had no power, exited the freeway, pulled over, didn't see anything wrong, started back up and the wrench light was off, happened again every week or so under different random circumstances and would go into limp home mode, so here I am in a mustang struggling to go 45. Finally replaced the throttle positioning sensor and for the most part that particular problem stopped. Then, because of the angles the fuel travels when you fill up there were only two gas stations anywhere near me where I could fill the tank properly without having to hold the nozzle the whole time and pump really slow, and even those two stations wouldn't work if they had gotten a fuel shipment recently. Then occasionally my gas gauge would go to empty even though there was a ton of fuel in the tank, and if the gas light was on for very long it would turn the check engine light on which would not go off without taking it to be cleared. The battery light would also come on randomly even after replacing it and the cables. Then the car started overheating while idling in a parking lot, shut it down to find the coolant tank was completely empty, had to be rescued by my dad with a bunch of water, found out the thermostat housing was plastic and cracked, replaced that and continued dealing with the battery, full and check engine lights all the time, about 5 months later after accelerating into a highway the engine started chugging badly and I could only accelerate if I put the pedal on the floor, pulled off the road and the coolant tank was completely empty again but while driving the temperature didn't go above normal and I had no warning lights on, again my dad had to come rescue me, started driving back home and it was sluggish the whole time until it died and only the did every warning light on the dash come on, got pushed into a parking lot and on a hunch I checked the oil, milky all the way up the dip stick and steaming, blown headgasket. Don't waste your time on mustangs, everything is poorly designed on them, in fact I'm not going to waste my time on any American car anymore. Even if you want to drag race people, a lot of European and Japanese cars will destroy American muscle cars. Sad to admit, but that mustang cost me a lot of money over the years and it was nothing but disappointment

I own a V6 hardtop coupe. It's a beautiful dirt color with black racing stripes. The horse power stinks. 4.0L and only 210hp. I also have a Nissan 350z thats a 3.5L V6. It puts out 300HP stock. My Mustang is flawless in style and looks but I am very disappointed in the performance.

This has got to be the most boring car I have ever owned. The inside is disgusting! Worse design I have ever seen in a car. It looks like something from the 70's with no form. Everything is just flat and boring. As for driving... the horse power is ok. With some aftermarket mods you can make it handle and move a lot better. It's better than the old mustang but no where near European or Japanese sports cars. Still can't take corners at anything like the speed a car like this should. Outside design is cool but doesn't make up for the rest of the car. Problems; several electrical connections weren't connected in the factory. Wheel and tire problems with shuddering, replaced O2 sensor already.
