Used 2007 Ford Freestar Consumer Reviews
Underrated Minivan
After driving my wife's "04 Freestar Limited for 3 years, I went out and bought an '07 Sport for the business. Compared to Japanese models, the Freestar is quite a good drive. I'm surprised by the overall reliability, but ticked at the minor breakdowns of simple things. A good product, but backed by inferior Ford service departments.
Very Reliable, Comfortable, and Quiet.
Ford corrected the transmission for 2006 and 2007 models. Earlier models had transmission failures. I have 82,000 miles on this cargo van, and it has been trouble free. It is quiet inside, and drives like a regular passenger van because the cargo model has a full cloth headliner and trim panels all the way back to the tailgate. In fact, we prefer this vehicle for vacations. More cargo space than a thirsty SUV. I get 25 mpg on the freeway if I drive 60. At 70mph, it drops to 23 mpg.

Good van, the Editor doesn't own one!
It rides well, has all the toys, video, triple zone climated control, heated leather, quad seats....cd changer...alloys....oh and the gas pedal doesn't get stuck! Mine Has given me nothing but excellent service! Buy one well maintained..u will find the...sterring culd be a little more precise..it's a mini van.
For the $$, Couldn't beat it!
Stickered for a hair over $30k. DVD, SE Premium Package, Liftgate spoiler, Advancetrac, side canopy airbags,17" alloys, quad seating.... really well equipped. Floor console too ($150 option...kinda steep I think). ANYWAY...rebates, discounts, and plans through work, (company is a supplier to Ford) knocked it down to $19k and change! Yes, it's brand new! Couldn't TOUCH another for that. Rides nice. Like the SIZE. Sits high. Looks nice. Got the Norsea Blue. Pretty!
Freestar Cargovan rating
This van was purchased as a practical utility vehicle and as a "daily driver". As such, the Freestar Cargo van meets all of my requirements: ability to carry a reasonable weight (1/2 to 3/4 ton) of cargo under cover (enclosed), be economical to drive to and from work (19-21 mpg combined), be comfortable to drive, and not be a financial burden to purchase.
