Still satisfied even with problems

Used for on and off road and towing utility trailer and 26'camper. Have had rear end clutch packs replaced, the front end 4x4 actuator replaced twice, the right side lower ball joint twice and now at 67000km/40000mi the transmission blew leaving me 600 miles from the nearest Ford dealer at a remote Outfitters lodge. I have nothing but praise for my dealer who has listened to my problems and fixed them and I am thankful I bought 84months/75000mi of extended warranty when I bought the truck. Fuel economy is just a little better than my 1996 F-150 with a 302 V8

Just got a used one and it is more then meets the eye. so smooth quiet 4 whl disc brakes. Manual everything, perfect truck to get things done without wasting money on luxury car options. Will definetly outlast other trucks for the same money. Solid safe frame and suspension built to last. Not a tin can waiting to be crushed and disposed. Before you buy another truck find one of these base model F150 4.2 and feel the difference. For real people who want real truck to get real things done.

Solid truck, but rusting out

The majority of my issues are due to rust. We live in the rust belt, northeast Ohio. I've replaced $1000 worth of parts over the past 2 years on the front end that failed due to corrosion. The body has been rusting for over 5 - 7 years now. Its just embarrassing at this point. GM vehicles have far less rust at this age.

Transmission issues at 170000 truck was running perfect and then one day the transmission just went out . Fluid's word checked regularly and failed regular oil changes haven't had any other issues except with the oil filter . But the transmission on this truck is known for going out otherwise I love my truck

recall on all ford 4 wheel drive

Bought my ford f150 in 2007, it had 32000 miles. About 3 month later the 4 wheel drive went out, ya 5000 miles later. I called ford to find out what they would do for me. The customer service was very poor and rude. They wanted to charge me $100 to find out what is wrong with it, on top of what it would cost to fix it. I don't care about paying to have them fix it but to charge me an extra $100 just to find out whats wrong, come on now. After I just payed $30,000 for a truck 3 months early. Toyota doesn't pull that. I like the truck but, the 4 wheel drive has big problems, and customer service suck!!! Going back to Toyota.
