Purchased brand new white 09 Sport Trac XLT 4x2, sync/sunroof, over labor day 2009. Truck is perfect for those who want a smoother ride and do not need a huge cargo bed. Plenty of room for 5. Have put 3,000 miles and no issues, rides very nice and getting decent gas mileage, about 18 MPG overall city/hwy. Paid $21,000+ Tax/License

Go Find An Adrenalin V8 Sport Trac !!

Looked for months to find a V8 Adrenalin. Most folks never even heard of them. Last year was 2010 and I finally found a real beauty with 29000 miles. Didn't think it was as fast as my 5.3 liter Chevy 1500 but, got stuck passing 4 cars on a 2 lane road and WOW, this truck is fast over 50mph. Can't beat the Sunroof for late day cruising or the power rear cab window. The bed extender ,we thought, was a bummer until you use it and then we found it was perfect for those unusually long loads. Leather, Six-Speed Automatic , 4.6 L V8, AWD, ALL were major plus's owning this vehicle. Ford made a real mistake when they dropped this puppy. Found out, folks that own them, impossible to pry them way and , when discovered, they are ALL high mileage (used). so, Good Luck Finding One. Only problem I see is the 'evaluation guides' do not even LIST the AWD V8 "Adrenalin" model so, folks don't realize the extra value. They try to pigeon hole you with the 'Limited" model and other less desirable models. The Adrenalin's really were RARE, most loaded with Options and very quick ~ Just 'SOLD' this great truck with 46000 miles after many tire kickers trying to 'steal it'. It went to a great home in AL. where the new owner already had lots of experience 'trying' to find a low mileage example.... till he found mine. This is a great truck for Ford Lovers. I am a Chevy / GMC / Cadillac guy at heart: Many reasons but, the first being when you go to sell it- Chevy Buyers are standing in line- not so much for Ford. Gotta be a reason. Switched over to ultra-low- mileage Cadillac (Funeral) Flower cars- even harder to find- and WOW, what a spectacular discovery. LOVE THEM!

I am reviewing a V8 Adrenalin 2010 6 speed. I'm impressed! Quiet, smooth, gorgeous! But why such crummy gas mileage? And wait, no carpet(?) in a 38K vehicle?

I have only owned the used Sport Trac for about a month but I have found that the vehicle is a well rounded and comfortable vehicle. I don't put many miles on a truck but I wanted a midsized pickup that was reliable and comfortable. I could not justify buying a new truck because I only drive one occasionally and decided on a used Sport Trac or Ridgeline. After reading dozens of reviews by both professional type reviewers as well as owners it appeared that the so-called experts favored the Ridgeline. However, reviews by owners gave the Sport Trac great reviews. Based on my brief ownership of the Ford, I have found the reviews of owners to be more accurate. Some of the Experts say that the Sport Trac is a gas guzzler. Perhaps some are but the one I bought with 79000 miles on it get an average MPG of 19 with 65% of the miles being highway miles. That is not exceptional but it certainly not a gas guzzler. I found the ride to be quiet and smooth. There is very little wind noise but the tires are all-weather and there is a hum that I could do without. Most of the experts complained of a lack of power in the V6. That is absolute nonsense. The V6 delivers plenty of power unless you are drag racing a Corvette. Complaints about cargo space are certainly valid but then its purpose is primarily for carrying people in comfort and safety. The Sports Trac has lots of little niceties the make it an absolute pleasure to drive. The handling is superb. Breaking is excellent. The ride is quiet and comfortable and the cost to operate is reasonable and the Ford is cable of carrying cargo. The Sports Trac is the best of both worlds. UPDATE: The hum I mentioned in my review turned out to be front wheel bearings. I replaced both front bearings and now the truck is very quiet and smoothe. The cost to replace the bearings was $220 and that and a battery are the only cost for maintenance thus far. I am pleased with the truck. UPDATE: After a couple of years I can say that I am still pleased with the Sports Trac. Actually, my intentions were to buy the new Ford Ranger rumored in 2016 to be released in America. I have decided not to buy one because the Sports Trac is still an exceptional truck. I did add a stereo with a backup camera that makes driving much more enjoyable. The only problem I'm having with the truck is reseting the oil change indicator light.

Slight stall

When I slow to make a turn (at low speeds) the truck has a slight pause when pressing on the accelerator. It is incredibly frustrating because I bought the Adrenalin package. My dealer is being great about trying to find the problem. We are waiting for Ford to find a technical (programing) solution. There are no problems at normal speeds.
