Fine camper
This is my 3rd van which we make into a camper and drive about 15,000 miles a year. Been to AK to Panama. Great van, even better if they would make a square one.
2002 E-250 windowless cargo 5.4 L
Owned it 15 years, first 10 weighted down with plumbing crap, last 5 not so much. Replaced a couple coil packs, and alternator twice. For a 270,000 mi rig (80,000 on engine and tranny rebuild), I can't complain, still runs like a top and uses no fluids.... knock on wood 👍

I am not a Ford fan.
Having owned a '93 Taurus (bought new & a very sour lemon (blown engine @103K miles), the '99 E250 was a chance. Had the truck built with all of the toys, incl. GVW of 8300 lb. This 'Green Monster' has performed flawlessly, with the exception of front end alignment @ 10K, and EGR valve @ 35K. The 5.3L engine is noisy when cold, the drive train whines @ 40 mph.
DO NOT BUY!!!
I bought this van brand new, its been a rattle box if I wasn't the orig owner I'd think it was in a bad accident but hasn't. The fuel mileage is horrible, gets 11 miles x gallon hway, thats since new and with no load it has the v6 engine which does ok for the weight of the vehicle. Its horrible on ice or snow or even just wet surfaces. Mechanically its been excellent, never any problem yet of any kind w eng or trans., although front end is weak, still original battery.
