First of all the air bag light should not keep coming on - took it in 8 times and they finally fixed it. Now makes a terrible noise when idling - has cut off on me once and hesitates after cranking. Do not buy this car - I agree an expensive mistake!

Has potential - but flawed

I've driven this SUV for 4100 miles through all sorts of terrain. Good: Interior storage, comfort, & the value. There are plenty of places to put things, & the seats are comfortable for 6-hour stretches. Bad: Ergonomics, handling, power, & transmission. The controls, especially the stalks, are confusing & illogical, making for dangerous situations in heavy rain or using the cruise. Body roll in emergency maneuvers is scary. The engine has too little power for a V-6 and stumbles on acceleration. Transmission programming is so bad I had to shift manually on most hills. Visibility out the rear window is poor. This SUV has potential, but is dangerously flawed. I don't recommend buying.

I bought A 2010 Dodge journey RT awd. When I bought the car it drove really nice shortly after that I had a lot of problems. My car was in the shop More than I drove it. I had to get a new transmission 9 months after purchase. It was still making a loud noise when I got to about 55. So they tried everything to find the problem , Differential, harmonic balancer, Motor mount, control arms, two EGR valve, water pump, timing belt, Tpm, And I had several Other items that had nothing to do with the transmission issue. I got brand new tires because They thought that was the noise. After 6 months of replacing the transmission, im still having the same noise at 55mph. I also had to replace the heater core and the air conditioning compressor. It’s a good thing I bought a warranty.

Do not buy used.... this will only cause you grief as you can see from other reviews. There is a reason they are being traded with in the first 5 years. The Battery in under the Front bumper exposed to the elements. You have to take the wheel off to even get to it. Then the tray holding it will completely fall apart. There is known issues with the computer, Clusters and TIPM. We bought used 102 000KM in 2018. Had a few rust spots but had this fixed under the warranty. Now in the shop on and off for the last 4 months trying to figure out why my battery drains. Over 60 days of shop finally found the Horn relay is defective. BUT here is the real issue, I have no problem getting the relay fixed but my Mileage has since zeroed out for no reason and suddenly my Journey had 7KM on it. FCA will not even entertain me in any way and they sound like robots reading from a script about warranty. Now I require a Cluster in order to get my mileage proper, I cannot sell this vehicle, renew my sticker or renew my insurance with out proper mileage reading. (this would be considered fraud if I tried) So at the end of the end of the day I am one Battery tray, 2 battery replacements (the first one went defective as per the dealerhship some how), one TIPM, one Horn Relay and HOURS of shop time. My bill we be over $3000.00 in total at the very least just get this thing on the road again. There is a reason Chrysler is the Economical manufacture cause the repairs are going to KILL YOU LATER
