That it's a great car. It is one of the most advanced vehicles on the road and you can buy a used one for a fraction of the original price.

Traded in ES Lexus, haven't looked back. Car is a joy to drive, it WANTS to move. 3000 miles so far, visited gas station only once. Over 300 mpg. Love that the car is so fast and so quiet. Anyone who compares this car to a normal car to calculate payback on gas savings is missing the point. This is a premium car. Negatives: visibility is somewhat limited, holds only 4 passengers, Bluetooth issues with iPhone 5 (worked flawlessly with my iPhone 4). I'm told this should be fixed in the the next couple of weeks. They'll send out the update directly to the car wirelessly. This car is a marvelous piece of technology. If you're thinking about buying one, just do it.

The Volt has the best of both worlds. Full EV up to 45 miles then switches over to gas for longer range up to 300 miles total. Strugles in high heat weather over 100 degrees on hill climbs / long grades. Not enough power after batteries run out to handle A/C and uphill climb. GREAT Local Commuter Car but not for long distance travel.

Best car I've ever owned. First electric vehicle and I will not go back to a gas engine. Smooth linear acceleration and barely a whisper of noise. Good torque makes it peppy to drive and fairly agile for its weight. Saves me $150 on gas every month during a 30 mile commute. Saves me $100 a year in oil changes. More importantly saves me the time and hassle of going to the gas station or oil change shop. Better than a lot of cars in its class in the snow because of its weight. Leather suede interior is luxury and durable, not like my wife's junk Prius with the plastic falling off the doors. Not to mention the sound insulation on the volt is waaay better than the prius (like the difference in driving with your windows down or up on the highway). Only trouble in 3 years of owning it was covered under a recall for bubbles in the battery coolant, and cost me nothing.

Navigation system updates are a pain.

It is impossible to update the navigation system on this vehicle. I can buy an update for a 2012 and a 2014, but GM hasn't seen fit to update the 2013. I am old enough to have owned a Chevy Vega and I vowed never to own a GM auto again but my wife wanted an electric car. GM finally got around to updating the navigation system in 2017 replacing the original 2011 map information. On the bright side, the vehicle has been nearly maintenance free, other than required maintenance. The only problem was that the back up camera when out just before the 36 month warranty expired. I have noticed some deteration in the battery. It used to charge up to 48-49 miles in mild weather. Now it rarely gets above 40.
