Used 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Consumer Reviews
Perfect Compromise! Get One Now!
My wife has never let me forget about someone rear-ending me (actually a hit and run)and totalling her 1994 Cavalier Z-24. We ended up "replacing" it with a loaded 2000 LeSabre a couple of years ago. Both cars were great, but so far our Monte Carlo SS could not be a more perfect fit and compromise of both cars. Black leather on black is really cool and has already gotten lots of compliments from several after only a few days. The creature comforts are similar to a luxury car, yet the sporty features make it extremely fun to drive. The gas mileage is very respectable @ 28ish mpg! I hadn't initially pursued one with a supercharger, but I'm glad I found one. Very smooth/fun!
Batmobile II
Bought my first Monte SS in 2002 and dubbed it the Batmobile. After seeing and driving the 2004 supercharged SS, I couldn't resist purchasing it. To top it off, I got a great deal on a great car! The ride is comfortable and exhilarating, the power exceptional and the subtle changes that were made between 2002 and now make my new Monte Carlo a pleasure to drive.
Never Again.
I would never buy a Monte Carlo again. I love my car but I have had it for almost 3 years and have had nothing but problems. I am having to get my roters changed CONSTANTLY. If not, and I am on interstate and slowing down to get on the off ramp, it shakes horribly. Anyone else? Then sometimes when I turn real sharp, it makes a screeching noise and sounds like my power steering is going to go out. Now recently, it has been leaking antifreeze and overheating. I talked to a dealer and he, himself even said they are nice cars, but have many mechanical problems.
Nice car
I now have 13,000 miles on the Monte Carlo. So far the car could not have given me any less trouble. When I first bought the car I had a number of people comment on how much they liked the color. It is the metalic blue. I have had people ride in the rear seat and they've told me they found it quite comfortable. It's nice to have the rear seat back fold down, but I've noticed that anything with much bulk will have a tough time fitting in the trunk. I've read other reviews commenting on the lack of a light in the glove compartment and must agree that Chevy shouldn't have cheaped out on that. It's a pain to look in there in the dark. Overall I'm very satisfied with the car and don't regret buying it.
Roomy coupe
This is an American coupe. This means it's nice and roomy. I'm 6'3" and can't squeeze into a Solara or RSX.
