Used 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche Consumer Reviews
Fun gas guzzler
Up to this point the Avalanche has been a unique fun experience. I traded in a Ford Expedition and dont regret it. The extra acceleration and smoother than expected ride of my new chevy is the highlight of my switch. I added 22 inch wheels and the truck really looks sharp and aggressive with a menacing look and stance. The Avalanche makes you feel secure and in control on the busy highways of the big congested city.
An Attention Getter!
I love the vesatility, except it takes two people to remove the panels, at least for a woman.Perhaps a man could do it by himself. The truck is really fun to drive, and has a lot of power.

Cool new toy
No major problems with this new ride. Fuel economy shpuldn't even be a catagory for any truck this size. If your buying one of these because they are fuel efficeint. It gets better gas mileage than my old 98 2dr Tahoe did. Chevy did this one right in my book.
Love my Avalanche
I bought it new & now have 74,000 miles. I love this truck & would buy another. The major mechanicals; engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, etc., no problems, however, the rear axle bearings had to be replaced at one point, which is the only problem that I have had with the truck. Very reliable & can always count on it. Very comfortable & smooth for a truck. Very useful, like the midgate & the rubber lined bed.
200k no problems
I had a 2002 and put 200k on it b4 I sold it. Never had a problem other than a plugged sock in the fuel pump from dirty fuel. never rattled, squeaked. flexed. I towed the heck out of this truck and changed oil at 10k to 12k miles. after about 200k was using 1 qt in between changes. I now have a 2007 w/ 130 and it's even better.
