Great Car!!!

This is a great car so far. Only 1100 miles on it, but I am well pleased thus far. I highly suggest the upgraded V6 Twin Turbocharged engine, it is really fun to drive with this extra power. The interior is of good quality, but the handling and performance of the V6 is the selling point for me. I have the premium luxury with the optional V6 engine in crystal white tri-coat paint with the maple sugar interior and it looks fantastic. So far, solid work from GM on this one!

From Toronto very disappointed. Dealers service snd care excellent. Car 27,000 km in two years. GM authorized a new engine install, In 24 mo nine OnStar notices engine transmission. Defective actuator. Tore down engine Jan 2023 at dealer and found metal filings or metal fatigue in engine! I started a case with Cadillac Care GM Canada. No lemon law here. I asked fir a new car. No idea when new engine will arrive. OMG

GM Sold the tracking data from my CT5 beware

I was surprised to find the dealer had only 1 in stock. I took a test drive and loved the car. The price for this size and class of car was AMAZING, I paid around $36k after my trade in which wasn’t worth much. I’ve driven it now for about 5 months and I actually like it better now than when I first bought it. It handles better now that I have about 6k miles on it. These cars have a small 4 cylinder Twin Scroll Turbo engine that actual have plenty enough power once you get used to them. Its great on gas and looks great from every angle. I bought the Luxury model because its the only one they had. I have since added the sport taillights and spoiler. ***Updated review, I traded the car off a few months shy of 2 years owning it. The car just seriously started to bore me. It felt as though a new body had been put on an older style chassis. The fun and newness wore off quickly and by 7 or 8 months of ownership I was tired of the car. In January of 23 I drove an Alfa Romeo Giulia and loved the way it drove. In Feb I went to an Alfa dealer and traded my CT5 in on an Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The Stelvio is the best vehicle I’ve ever driven! Also a Major serious issue I found after trading my Cadillac the GM / Onstar had been selling my driving data to Lexis Nexis. The credit reporting agency Lexis Nexis had every detail, what date I drove my car, how many miles I drove, how I drove it and the exact times of the trip. Lexis Nexis then sold this information to the Auto Insurance companies who used the data to raise my rates! So I still think the CT5 is a beautiful, quality car. It’s just a little boring to drive and feels like a much simpler older car under its shiny skin. GM and Cadillac on the other hand have upset me so much by selling my data without my permission that I would never under any circumstance buy a gm product again. Period

My CT 5 Sport Review

CT5 Sport Man, 06/15/2020
2020 Cadillac CT5 Sport 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 10A)
41 of 46 people found this review helpful

I recently purchased a CT5 Sport, with most of the bells and whistles. I've owned Caddies for most of my adult life. from the CTS to the ELR. And this caddie is spot on, its very comfortable, stunning looks, great technology, and a so so engine. The engine is alittle loud for my tastes, but I am coming from a ELR which is electric, and produces very little noise. But to me it seems like its alittle loud when you mash on it. I love the car hotspot, and how quickly it connects to my phone and switching from Pandora, and I heart radio is seamless, and actually feels like your just turning a radio station. There is a lot of redundancy when it comes to control knobs, no less than 3 ways to control the volume. Wish the dash was more digital, but its pretty sweet, and has all the necessary things most cars do. I LOVE the heads-up- display, that is excellently laid out and has a plethora of info you can project to the HUD. And the graphics are really well laid out. The Nav is connected, so it does show traffic, and reroutes like waze or google maps would do. the screen is very nice at 10 inches and provides a ton of information. I also love the Near Field Communication (NFC) on the dash, that if you tap your phone it automatically connects you to the stereo. I find myself not using Android auto, as once you set your presets, on the radio it will seamlessly go from XM, FM radio, Pandora, and IHeart presets. So android auto is not really that useful. I would like to change Pandora, so that play lists are shown. In order to see my playlists I have to use android auto. I love the grill, as it looks really aggressive, and shows to me that is a sport model. Overal I think its a great buy, and should give me years of fun.

This is one great Caddy. Technology is great. Has a lot of “get up and go”. Especially like the heated massaging seats, park assist and heads up display. This Sport Edition is sleek and very attractive. A little pricey but I think I’m worth it !

Equal to MB E-Class but more stylish

The new Cadillac CT5 checks all the boxes. In comparison to the MB E-class, they are very similar in size, power and handling. The Caddy styling easily whips the Benz’s ten year-old-look. GM fixed some of the cumbersome control functions of past models in the new CT5 bringing it up to a very user friendly level. The Benz may be a bit more posh, but you’d expect more real leather in $60K car. Bottom line, the American built Cadillac comes in $20K less than its German counterpart and it’s really hard to see why. I love the tri-pointed star too and have owned several, but this Cadillac hits the mark big time.

Own car 3 months when the CUE went black car has just over 2000 miles. The following day the battery is dead, this caused power steering and power brakes to malfunction and make car undrivable . The car is now at local dealer after waiting a week for the first available appointment. Our car has now been at the dealer about 2 weeks . Cadillac has not furnished us with a courtesy car as promised but they have done a really good job of pretending to be helping by listening to our situation and the doing nothing. My advice is donot buy Cadillac CT5

Traded my 2014 XTS vSport Caddy in about 1 1/2 years ago on a new '22 CT5-V (not the Blackwing). Got a great trade-in deal, but of course the new car was pricey. Has about 10K on it now. Absolutely no problems so far. It's vivid white and a beauty that gets the attention of young and old alike. (I'm the latter.) Multiple driving modes depending on your mood. It's a bit smaller and stiffer than my XTS, but I like it.

Exceptional! You Did It Again Cadillac!

Let me just preface that even though I am a female. I am very particular about my vehicles and I always purchase my vehicles and they last a very long time. The Cadillac CT-5 far surpassed my expectations with all the bells and whistles included. When driving the vehicle it feels like you are driving on clouds with no noise and an acceleration power that will put any sports car to shame! The interior is very roomy and the seats hug your frame to give you a very comfortable feeling for both long and short distances. One of my favorite features is the standard sunroof in all the CT5's However, it is by far just a standard sunroof as it gives you so much natural light in whatever position that you place it in. I just bought my first Cadillac a couple of years ago and this will be my second. I will never own another vehicle other than Cadillac. It has by far been the Best, Classiest, Performance Driven and reliable vehicle that definitely gives you all your monies worth, without feeling like you have overpaid. Lastly, I have friends that have purchased other comparable sports cars that are constantly complaining about them being in for service or breaking down frequently. I have never had or have long hours, days and weeks where my car has had to be in for service and when I do take my vehicle in for regular maintenance, the staff are always so thorough and friendly at both Crestview Cadillac in Rochester Hills and Suburban Cadillac in Troy, Michigan. Thank you! You Did It Again Cadillac, Another Win for the Team! Ms. Catherine Lee

CT5 V has a good sound. Much better than the CT5 or the CT4 V. A CT5 V with super cruise is impossible to find so I'm still looking. Stylish, fun to drive, good options offered, nice size with room for three in back seat and not too expensive for a luxury car.

CT5 Premium Luxury AWD

My current 2017 CTS Vsport was in service, so I had the opportunity to drive the CT5 for a few days. Pros: although the outside dimensions have shrunk the car feels roomier inside. The car has good looks! The infotainment system is crisp, less glitchy and easier to use. There is more storage space compared to the previous generation. Pleasant and more accommodating. Cons: the car is underpowered. 45k for a 230hp 4 cylinder engine? In my opinion these are VW Passat numbers and should not be found in a premium sedan. The car is a dog, if you compare it to other 4 cylinder turbo charged engines from the competitors. I did not check 0-60 times but this feels slow. It will not sway any seasoned luxury car buyers. The next major drawback are the gages. These things were designed in the early nineties by a Pontiac Aztec engineer and were stored away for decades until a Cadillac designer found them lying around somewhere and decided to give them a try. Just plain meh. Opinion: the car is a downgrade compared to the previous generation. The looks might convince a few buyers to give this car a try, but I firmly believe that this will fall well short of the competition. It is Unfortunate that a brand new car feels like a downgrade to the previous generation. Yes there is a price advantage but overall the shortcomings are too obvious. I would not label this car as a failure but this does not offer any memorable anything that would make me want to upgrade to it.

Mine is a '21with pretty much every option...It had a metallic clunk underneath since new, after 4 trips to the dealer, a shop foreman rode with me to hear it. Turned out to be a very loose engine mount! Quality indeed! The dash looks plastic, too many mismatched knobs (3 sets of volume controls) with 2 sticking out of the nav screen, Start button is plastic, big enough for a bus. The premium Bose audio system doesn't have a protective cover under the rear deck leaving those great speakers to the mercy of jammed luggage in the trunk, The only good thing is the power train. Ive had 2 ATS 1SS sedans before this with much better quality...

Luxury - Overstated

David Jones, 09/06/2023

The term Luxury is overstated for the base CT5. The word luxury leads you to believe that the vehicle would have basic features found on a standard Toyota, Honda, or Lexus that cost $37,000+. Features such as the following can be found in either of the vehicles above for that price: * Front and rear parking sensors * Lane departure * Adaptive Cruise control * Blind spot warning * Auto adjusting mirrors when backing * Ventilated front seats (front) * Memory seats The vehicle performs well and looks great.

Bad brakes, squeal since day one! Cad service no help! Told to speed to 80 mph, then jam brakes! Did NOT work! Poor radio control, can not turn back to channel. Have to scroll forward thru entire list. Small trunk, hate poor design of web in trunk. 4 cylinder sucks. Can not get favorite exterior color of crystal beige. Bad decision! I've been driving the V6 3.0 liter version of this car for a few months now and must say am surprised by how crude it is, given this is supposedly a top-of-the line vehicle. i think of my old BMW 340i which had the same specs - 3.0 liter V6, 335 hp - and it's night and day. in the 340i you just had to look at the gas pedal and it was in a different time zone already whereas the CT5 was hopelessly lagging in comparison. The interior feels cheap, the buttons feel cheap, and there are numerous small irritations, such as, why do I have to engage the auto hold button every time I start the car? That is nuts - but that said, the cameras are superb, much better than on the BMW.

2020 Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 10A)

This is a beautifully designed car, especially the exterior. The interior is reasonably well designed and comfortable but I would have expected a bit more refinement in a luxury sedan. The discontinued CT6 had a better interior. The car has most of the technology one would want except for the adaptive cruise control option which was already available on my 2014 Mercedes S-Class, so Cadillac really should have been offering it by 2020. The heads up display is erratic. I have already had the dealer replaced the cable one time, and the problem nevertheless persists, with the display disappearing from time to time for no particular reason. The car rides and handles well, in fact it handles very well. The 2.0 turbocharged engine is clearly underpowered for this car. It is a bit sluggish getting from 0 to 30 mph but once one is at or above 60 mph the car rides very well and can easily accelerate beyond that level and hold the road at speeds greater than 75 mph. This is definitely not your father's Cadillac, no land yacht. I think it can be compared to a Mercedes C-Class or BMW 3 series fitted with a comparable engine.

Handsome and well designed car, not your father's

The CT5 is Cadillac's best seller and with reason. The exterior is handsomely designed, even a head turner. The interior is spacious, not quite as luxurious as one might hope from a Cadillac (I have the premium luxury model, so called) with a certain amount of plastic and brushed aluminum instead of more expensive materials, but the instrument cluster and controls are well designed and intuitive. The range of technology offered is impressive, although the car is missing automatic cruise control, which I had already on my 2014. My 2014 Mercedes S-Class. One would have expected that by 2020 Cadillac would have made this a standard feature. The car performs and handles very well as a sedan: this is not the high performance blackwing model, but it has plenty of pep even with the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, but I would have been happier with GM's workhorse 6 cylinder that I had in a previous Buick. I've had the car for a year and it has been reliable, with only one minor electronic glitch which was fixed under the warranty. I'm quite satisfied with the car and enjoy driving it.

Very surprised with how fast the CT5 is considering it has a 4 cylinder. I went from a CTS to the CT5 and was afraid I was losing power, but it has definitely impressed me. I love how spacious the interior is and the seats are so much more comfortable than the CTS. I love my CTS and never thought anything could compare , but I have to say this car has impressed me. One down fall I noticed is that it can't maneuver the curves like the CTS. It must have a larger wheel base or something cause I can't make good u-turns or take curves too quickly. So far I'd have to save that is the only negative thing I have found.
