Bought the car on price point edmunds apparently made a mistake on my “private offer” and doubled one of the rebates and dealer honored that deal saved an extra $2750. So print the offer if it looks good. Like the car it’s quiet and rides well my only real dislike is that its built in China but so is most everything else.

To "Clunk or not to clunk"

Faulty transmission. When shifting from Park or from Reverse, it will intermittently "clunk". Clunk can be small or can shake the car. Have been to dealer & left it there for them to drive. Naturally, it won't do it while they have it. Waiting it out until it gets more frequent. Otherwise I like the car.

Part l - I was looking for a Buick Envision or Encore for one reason. Buick's Quiet Tuning. I was trading in a Hyundai Sonata Limited. Beautiful car. All the bells and whistles but not very smooth or quiet. And as it turns out the GDI engine is a disaster. I was raised on American luxury cars and I'm not ashamed to say I prefer the softer "boat-like" ride of American vehicles to the tighter sportier ride of European, and Asian vehicles. So I looked at a lot of Envisions but could not find one with the features I wanted in my price range. And to be honest the Encore was just a bit too small. I was ready to settle on a Nissan Rogue when this Envision Essence popped up. I went to the dealer, Echo Park, and had a very pleasant buying experience and got it. I like the Envision very much. The ride is smoother and considerably quieter. Yesterday I was playing music from my library on my phone not loud but loud enough and turned a corner and found myself right in front of a firehouse. Both the ambulance and fire truck were charging out lights blazing and sirens blaring and I could barely hear it. Maybe not such a good thing but confirmation that I now have the quiet vehicle that I have been searching for. The interior is beautiful. Leather, Heated Seats, not the Bose sound system offered in the Premium I and II but very good. Pano Sunroof, and lots more. Exterior, Beautiful Red paint. I've never had a red car before. The expected nicks and small scratches of a four-year-old SUV. Love the styling of the headlights and front grill treatment. I like the wheels very much. In fact, I like them more every day that I look at them. There does seem to be something a bit glitchy about the electronics involving the door locks and the way the touch screen and dash lights turn off when I exit and lock the doors. Heading back to Echo Park today to have that looked at as I have a 1000-mile warranty still in effect. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. Part ll - I have now had my Envision for 6 months and I like this SUV more now than I did when I wrote Part l. I have had the "glitchy electronics" looked at and was told by the Buick Dealership there was nothing they could do unless they could recreate the issue in the shop so they could trace it to its origin and, of course, they couldn't. So I have become so used to these issues ( and they really are quite minor) that now I don't even notice them when they do happen. I love driving this vehicle. Being up above the traffic with a better view of what's in front of me as opposed to my previous sedan is a subtle but important feature. The four-cylinder engine is quiet and produces enough power and acceleration for me but I am not a speed freak. I like to cruise in style and luxury. Love the power liftgate. I've never had one before and it is a very nice upgrade. I live in Texas so I don't get to use the Pano Sunroof as often as I would like. The Summers here are too hot and last nearly 5 months but in the Spring and Fall, it is a welcome luxury. I wish it got better MPGs. A vehicle this size with an inline four should get at least 30 combined but I get more like 26-27. Some of the Nissan Rouge models I was considering got 31-32 combined but ultimately it was Buick's Quiet Tuning that tipped the scales.

Great looks inside and out

My 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan was high in space and utility but lacked a serene ride and newer electronics, but at 24,800 miles it got caught in a flood of water and had to be replaced, rented a 2020 GMC Terrain, while it had decent space inside, it felt and rode like a small truck, bought a 2019 Buick Envision Essence model and was quite impressed on the workmanship of the inside of the vehicle, it looks, feels and rides like a premium vehicle, plus it offers great comfortable seats, and a very quiet hushed interior, the previous sales commercial pitch of: wouldn’t you really rather have a Buick is spot on, you don’t need to buy more expensive models offered by, Acura, Lexus, BMW or Cadillac, for a lot less this car does it all, now the Buick has close to 50,000 miles on it and it still drives as food as day one UPDATE: Very impressed in the design and comfort of Buicks popular mid-size, the gas mileage is very disappointing as well as the handling on the open road, if there are no curves on the road, and no road imperfections you'll get a nice ride but slowdown in cornering, it does the job but much body lean, had to replace the Michelins that came with the SUV, replaced them at 26,000 miles, better designed than the Chevy counterpart, and rides much better than the GMC which drives like a truck, this does not drive like a premium vehicle but very comfortable interior
