Used 2019 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe Consumer Reviews
Fuel pump noise
I purchased this car in August of 2017. After about a week of driving I noticed the fuel tank was about on the half empty level. A loud thumping noise began to get my attention. The noise seemed to be coming from the rear of the car and upon taking it to the dealer for service they all agreed it was from inside the fuel tank. After numerous returns to various BMW service departments it was finally sent into the corporation for further review. BMW corporation stated they knew of the sound but that there is no known repair. This sound begins as soon as I show 1/2 tank and increases in volume the less full the tank indicates. BMW did replace the fuel pump inside the fuel tank but it did absolutely nothing. I asked for BMW to take the car back and they refused. In addition, even though this car sells from the high 40's.. the radio (standard) has the sound of something out of the 60's. Several people from the Sandy Sansing service department did a side by side comparison to a 3 series BMW and the radio (also standard) blew mine out of the water. However, that of course was not fixed either. I also own a Nissan Altima and that radio is twice the sound of this radio and of course at about half the price. Several sales people at both the Mobile BMW and Sandy Sansing BMW departments indicated that the noise issue is a known fact not only affecting the 4 series but also X1 and others. STAY AWAY!

B58 for the Win!
I love this car. I love the wireless CarPlay and all the features! The B58 is totally transformed into a monster with a downpipe and a tune! 2 hours to put it on yourself and $1000… You can also throw an air mattress in the back for emergency sleep time.

Great car after 40K miles
Bought this used with only 2400 miles on it. It has the M-sport package, premium package, and technology package. The only option I really miss is adaptive cruise control. The only issue I've had is that the auto rear hatch opening (move your foot underneath the rear bumper to open the hatch) is finicky. I never took it in during the warranty cause I was too lazy. It has never worked well. Also, sometimes the hatch won't come all the way up when I open it. I do all my own maintenance, so operating costs have been very low. I get great mileage (28 mpg average). The car is fast and comfortable and great fun to drive. I love the looks, even after over 4 years of ownership.

Edmunds experts reviewed the wrong trim!
The 430i points made were true.. yes the cargo inside leaves you wanting more and rear seat space is made for shorter adults or kids… but this car is incredible… especially in the 440i variant. I have the 440i GC and it has been the most fun car I have owned thus far. The B58 motor is a masterpiece and knowing it is the same engine powering the Toyota Supra is even more of a treat. I have done some tasteful modifications to my vehicle to enhance the performance aspects and this car has been the opposite of what people say about BMWs…. reliable! That speaks to the engineering and focus on quality BMW worked on and perfected with these vehicles. The seats can be a tad uncomfortable on longer trips if you are a taller driver like myself but getting your seating position right helps and the adjustable thigh supports are great. The interior layout is easy to use and if you have CarPlay the integration works great and is wireless as well. The lift gate hatch does add weight you don’t get with a 3 series but the wide opening makes it easy to put items in and out and gives the car a unique look that makes it a treat when people see it open. If you value something different from the norm, quality, and realizability…. I would highly encourage you to go give a Gran Coupe a driven
