Used 2019 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe Consumer Reviews
2 Cars in 1!!!
To start heres an intro to who this review is coming from: I'm a 27 yo male, but also a father to a toddler. This car helps me accomplish mastery of both sides of the tracks. Smooth, safe and mature. As well as sporty, fun, and edgy! Biggest plus I'd say 100% is its versatility. Very mature looking car. Love the hatchback, as when i'm not accompanied by my back seated co-pilot I can easily stow it in the trunk and still have plenty of room for a large grocery haul, BIG day of shopping, etc. Very let down that the seats do not have a cooling/ventilated option :'(. That would make my life complete. I travel about 30 minutes (All hwy miles) and avg a good ~30+ mpg and I am NEVER driving below 75mph. Sport+ mode is the way to go! (partially turns off traction control so you can drive it how a RWD is supposed to be driven- almost) I'd like a little more feedback in the steering wheel (when in Sport mode) as it is a bit loose handling whilst giving her a good push but this is exceptionally good for when youre just cruising along and dont want to come out of your comfortable position to spin the wheel round and round as this car manuevers like a warm knife through butter with ease! HUD has changed my life and I will never see myself hopping in another car ever again that doesn't have one. Sound system is good! (9 speaker) nothing too extraordinary, not mediocre either. Rear-view camera is great, overhead camera is good too just needs more range in regards to its field of view. (too short sighted) This is my first RWD car and I love it. Try pushing it a little bit around corners in comfort and if your throttle gets limited you probably owe BMW a thank you! (especially in acute turns) Great tank size, just wish you didn't need to take the gas cap off. (Previously had a car designed to not have a gas cap and it was very convenient.) You may find yourself finagling with the seat config for a while. Not too big a fan of exact pedal positioning but its not a big deal. Not really loud at all on the highway, conservative yet entertaining engine notes when a little love is given to the throttle. DRIVE IN SPORT+. IT'S AMAZING. BMW has done a great job with their 4 cyl turbo. Love this car! I'd describe it as "mature fun". Classy always, and edgy when you want. Infotainement system is intuitive and fun to explore. You need to make sure you get the bigger screen w navigation. Sacrificing a little rear view mirror visibility is so worth it. Head and shoulders above the 3 series. Wish the braking was a little bit better.

Drop Dead Georgeous
This is easily one of the best looking cars on the road. It performs well across the board. I will say buying or leasing get the wheel/tire insurance. Its worth the money as I have gone through 3 tires and one wheel.

B's for BMW, electronics way too difficult to oper
Good looking car for a good price. No mechanical issues after 25,000 miles. The car's electrical controls are a little tuff to learn how to operate.

Fuel pump noise
I purchased this car in August of 2017. After about a week of driving I noticed the fuel tank was about on the half empty level. A loud thumping noise began to get my attention. The noise seemed to be coming from the rear of the car and upon taking it to the dealer for service they all agreed it was from inside the fuel tank. After numerous returns to various BMW service departments it was finally sent into the corporation for further review. BMW corporation stated they knew of the sound but that there is no known repair. This sound begins as soon as I show 1/2 tank and increases in volume the less full the tank indicates. BMW did replace the fuel pump inside the fuel tank but it did absolutely nothing. I asked for BMW to take the car back and they refused. In addition, even though this car sells from the high 40's.. the radio (standard) has the sound of something out of the 60's. Several people from the Sandy Sansing service department did a side by side comparison to a 3 series BMW and the radio (also standard) blew mine out of the water. However, that of course was not fixed either. I also own a Nissan Altima and that radio is twice the sound of this radio and of course at about half the price. Several sales people at both the Mobile BMW and Sandy Sansing BMW departments indicated that the noise issue is a known fact not only affecting the 4 series but also X1 and others. STAY AWAY!
