If only it didn't have RFT tires....
BMW dropped the ball on this car. They equipped it with (no choice) run flat tires and no spare. The ride on these tires is downright frightening with each bump in the road being bone jarring! No kidding... hit a pothole and you could lose the fillings in your teeth. It should be a dealbreaker for anyone considering this car. The push button start/stop switch is an unecessary joke. do not even think about leaving the car with a valet... he won't be able to shut it off or if he does the next shift won't be able to start it. I've actually posted a sign with instructions when I am forced to valet park. This is my fifth and last BMW unless this arrogant manufacturer replaces these tires.
Ultimate driving machine
This one is the real deal. Power, handling, go in the snow, secure all conditions, great design, has been great to lease, will get another this fall

Defective key
I have a 2006 330xi with 24,000 miles. Paid about $400 for Comfort Access. Engine should start with push button with key in my pocket. Key stopped working. Clearly defective. Wont work with key in dashboard slot or with new battery. Dealer wants new key for $480. No wear and tear involved. Customer relations wont replace defective key at no charge. This is clearly technology gone mad.
Somewhat disappointed
This is my third 3 series BMW in the last 5 years. I've previously owned a 325xi and my last 2 have been 330xis so I feel I'm fairly qualified to write an objective review. The 2006 body style is terrific and the interior appointments are far better than previous years. The seats are comfortable and seem to wrap around your body like a glove. The overall ride experience is firmer than my previous cars and I do not seem to get the same "rush" when stepping on the gas as my 2003 330xi. The lack of body side molding is a problem as I already have dings where side-molding should have been. The radio (even with Sirius) is average and the cup-holders are woefully inadequate. This car is just Ok.
Key Fob Easy on Your Pocket
When BMW came out with start button and keyfob-slot in 2006 3 series I questioned the rationale. Now I know one reason. The nagging stab of a car key in my back pocket has been replaced with a small light weight key fob. It's the small things in life that give me the most pleasure. If my old compact sedan is the "Wild Mouse", driving a BMW 3 is best compared to riding an inverted steel roller coaster. Excellent investment.
