What German Engineering Means
What a well designed and thought out vehicle. A real pleasure to drive. Takes curves w/ ease. Fantastic gas mileage @70+ mph @ 35mpg. Roomy and seats 4 comfortably. Lots of amenities.
Unbelievable machine!!!
Build quality edges Bimmers, Benzes, and Lexuses. While reliability leaves some to be desired, this may be an improvement with this new model.

Wow and Wowee...
This car far exceeded my expectations and everything I'd read. I didn't think I'd go for one but when I drove the '02 Passat and then the '02 1.8T, I knew that the Audi was for me. Tighter, smaller, quicker, and, yeah, more money. Don't believe what everyone says that the Passat is a better value: drive both to see what suits your driving style, etc. best. Don't get me wrong: my '99 Passat was terrific but this is car is "Wow!" The quality of craftsmanship in this car is incredible.
Good, but could be better
The 1.8T in the quattro, automatic is lethargic. Audi really needs to boost up the HP to make it a pleasing ride. The car is solid and handles great, but just too darn slow,,push the gas and it doesn't want to move!!!! Driver needs mopre leg room , it's too cramped and I am of average height and weight.
more than i expected
bought mine 5/16/02. was also considering a jag, or bmw 3series. how ever i ended up at an audi store only to kill a few minutes. came back the next night and made a deal on the car before driving it.well anyway i picked it up the next day and i'm more than satisfied. i look forward to driving this car every day.the car is put together beautifully, and has all the toys anyone could want. i highly recommend this car.
