  • No history on 2007 9-5 because european delivery?

    Written by: billy44bob44 on Aug 25, 2009 8:47:40 AM

I'm looking at a used 2007 9-5 Aero and the dealer says no vehicle history report is available because the vehicle was originally acquired by the 1 original owner using Saab's European Delivery program, where you fly to Europe to pick up the car, drive it around, and then they ship it to the US (it is built for use in the US not in EU). Does this sound right to ... Read More

Wow, nothing like talking to yourself in a forum. I just wanted to say that in the sixteen and a half months (and a mere 10 posts overall in this forum) that I posted my one year review that my 9-5 has been absolutely flawless save for a very occasional rattle near the sunroof. The short term lease is about up and I will miss it quite a bit, it's been ... Read More

Just bought a 2006 Saab. Has the nav system, but no DVD came with the car. Are all DVD's compatible. For example, can I buy a 2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008 DVD and it will work. I plan on buying at ebay, is that a wise move?

In April, Saab did have a $1000 lease bonus. I am waiting for that to come back. I am hoping for a July 4th sale of some kind. Also - The only way to lease a Saab (if ... Read More

I am looking at replacing our 99V70 with a new (or slightly used) wagon - either a Saab 9.5 or another Volvo. Volvo is preferred at the moment mainly because Saab has little product in my area and overpriced. I am in Canada and looking at importing the Saab from US as the MSRP is close to $8k less for new. But - having owned a 2001 Saab 9.5 sedan, and ... Read More

That is pretty much my opinion about my '06 wagon, except I find the stereo more than loud enough. Perhaps you need to adjust the base-line volume level. (Plenty of posts about this on saabnet.com). The only significant problem I have had was a bad sending unit in the gas tank which caused me to run dry when the guage was just barely touching the red; lots of annoying little things ... The cheapening of the 9-5

  • 2.3 4 vs. 3.0 V-6

    Written by: pearson244 on Dec 3, 2007 9:25:39 AM

I am on my 3rd 9.5. First two (2000 and 2002) we're V-6 powered, my 2007 is, of course a 2.3 260 HP turbo, Aero in this case. I used to be annoyed when folks picked on the V-6, I loved the power and smoothness of that engine, although that asymetrical turbo seemed to cause a weird "elastic" throttle response. Anyway, between the two V-6's, I put on combined 50,000 + ... Read More

My 1999 9-5 has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. It has been troublefree, very comfortable, and gets great mileage out on the road. [always 30+ mpg going pretty fast] I had it in the shop for a check and the dealer gave me a 2007 to drive. What a disappointment! It seemed like the car had been seriously decontented. Recently purchased an '07 95 Aero with all the trimmings, and love it (my 3rd Saab)........however, the one irritation is that at night, the steering wheel is completely dark, while the rest of the car back-lights. Saab Financial Services' Corp.'s current base lease rate and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2007 Saab 9-5 2.3T Sedan with 10,000 miles per year are 3.35% and 59%, respectively. I have been quoted: $1,500. down $415. plus tax for 39 months. Isn't this too high considering Saab is offering $419. per month with $2,000. down for 27 months?

Thanks for the additional information, davehane. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2007 Saab Aero Sedan that has an MSRP of $40,030 and a selling price of $37,621 through Saab's captive finance company right now for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, your zero down, pre-tax monthly payment would be around $496. Hi, I'd like to lease a 2007 9-5 Aero Sedan. In playing around with various lease calculators, I don't seem to be able to get a least payment much below $650/mo (36 mo, 12k mi). I am wondering what terms I can expect with today's environment. One thing that I think I'm seeing in my area (Minneapolis) is $3000 cash back on such a purchase/lease. Thanks.

Hello makarka. At first glance, over $500 a month sounds like a lot of money to pay for a demo 2006 9-5 that already has 5,000 miles on it to me. I think that the problem here is that Saab is no longer providing lease support on 2006 models. Hi Tami- A used Saab is an excellent value because of their rapid depreciation. I recommend a 2002 or later (I own a 2003 Linear) because of the redesign that year - not many new features but many refinements. There may be fewer Arc's and Aero's on the used car market just because of the lower volumes of those vehicles sold. The 4-cyl Linear has plenty of power on the freeway ... Read More
