It is amazing how Lincoln has the hutzpa to sell
Written by: euphonium on Oct 9, 2008 11:49:08 AM
2009 Town Cars in 12 year old bodies, engines, and transmissions. The body design is way overdue for improvement as it came out in the Fall of '97. The 4.6 L engine offers 239 hp while the Mustang provides 300. The 4 speed automatic tries to compete with 6 speed automatics in most other luxury cars. Considering the above, who is buying these tubs? What segment of the market do they ... Read More

Re: WILL THER BE A 2009 TOWN CAR [izaclown1]

29 MPG is a regular average for me in my 2005 T.C. in highway driving. I am light on braking if there is no one behind me which I'm sure saves fuel and brakes. My DTS gets around 26.5 on the highway but weighs 400 lbs. less than T.C. I use regular fuel in T.C. and premium in DTS. At 29 MPG average I really don't feel I need a hybrid ... Read More

WILL THER BE A 2009 TOWN CAR
Written by: bremertong on Apr 14, 2008 10:28:45 PM
My 2005 Signature Limited only has 29,000 miles on it but am wondering what is happening to Town Car as the 2009 model year approaches. On the positive side, my Town Car gets around 29 miles to the gallon in highway driving which to me is a great fuel economy for such a comfortable and luxurious car. I also own a Cadillac DTS which only gets a little over 26 miles ... Read More

I think that the interiors got a lot more press than the exteriors as there are a lot of 2 page spreads on a number of the autos' interiors. there are a few suv's and a ... Read More

Town Car Production: St. Thomas
Written by: douglasr on Feb 3, 2008 7:29:49 AM
Town Car production began again at St. Thomas. The first car rolled off the line January 10, and sold to local dealer Bruce Damochelle Lincoln. Town Car should survive for three more years, unless Ford Motor's efforts at revival flounder, in which case St. Thomas is on the discusion list for closure/idling. The Washington D.C. Auto Show still displayed the Town Car, albeit without much fanfare. The car had been built ... Read More

This is supposed to be the latest on the future of the Town Car: Lincoln's current flagship sedan, the Town Car, will live on after the company's new flagship comes to market. Although the new flagship, known internally as E386, will arrive in model-year 2009, the Town Car will live on through at least 2010. Supplier sources familiar with the automaker's plans say Lincoln could relegate the Town Car to fleet ... Read More

The rumor is that Lincoln will have two new sedans using the Ford Five Hundred platform that will replace the LS and Town Car, although the Town Car may continue on its current platform. The LS replacement would arrive for the 2008 model year, and the Town Car replacement would arrive for the 2009 model year. It will probably be 18 to 24 months before we see any pictures.

Limos.....
Written by: nvbanker on Jul 24, 2004 6:24:16 PM
You bring up a good question, LIMO - I guess Chrysler may take up the limo market if Lincoln gives it up. Or maybe Caddy will take it back, but I don't think the Sigma is up to stretching. Perhaps the 300C is....or maybe Daimler will be the limo of choice with Mercedes, that's not new to them..... Sure hate to see Ford abandon this very profitable segment, but I guess ... Read More
