This special model variant gets a supercharged 4.6-liter 32-valve V-8, six-speed automatic, all-wheel-drive, and unlike the new SVT Shelby Mustang 500, independent rear suspension. Just read the review, and needed to share my comments with the Edmunds editors. Here they are for the folks here who might be interested. I'd be interested in counterpoints, if you feel I am wrong in my critique. April 28, 2006 To the Editors of Edmunds: Your review of the 2007 Sport Trac ("Full Test: 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac") lacks real world perspective. In the review, the caption under ... Read More
I had very little time to SEE in detail as it was after work and after dark. I agree about the big gap; I'll go back and check it out in daylight. It's at least as quiet as Explorer, it doesn't have the LOOONG hollow interior to echo the sound. Having a shorter roof, less of drum effect. Check out http://www.ford-trucks.com/specs/2007/2007_sporttrac.htm Ford went to a lot of trouble to take care ... Read More
I work at a ford dealership and we got three in today. One limited and two of the XLT models. Thats the only two models offered in 2007. The interior is pretty much the same as the Explorer. strangely enough, the "newest" photos don't look much different than the old SporTrac. Maybe it was just a steroids type treatment to the looks. I would imagine that it was on display at LA and Detroit auto shows, you should be able to find a photo gallery from them. John
Hi All- Even with the 2007 Sport Trac featured prominently on their website, Ford is still keeping their clear photos "close to the vest" to use a poker term. The ones shown are taken at extreme angles and/or have the vehicle covered in mud. As of January 21, 2005 the dealer near my home anticipates that they'll have the new vehicles "on the ground" in their showroom within thirty days. He ... Read More
Ford has released their press package: http://media.ford.com/products/model.cfm It looks like a winner. For example, Ford made it much quieter than the Ridgeline, and it has all of the air bags, stability control, luxury features, and the V8 option, and so forth the 2006 Explorer has. The bed is also longer than before, making it much more useful. For people with cargo to carry, it is may also be much more useful than ... Read More
FORD BUILT WITH TOOLS NOT CHOPSTICKS!!!!!!!!! LOL.....that's pretty funny :P But anyway, whether or not the Japanese build their trucks with chopsticks or not, the fact remains that the Honda Ridgeline, Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier currently rule the compact truck segment.
