Used 1991 Volvo 240 Consumer Reviews
Quarter Million Miles
My Volvo is a 1985, and it looks better than some eight years older. As of my writing, the odometer reads 250,026. The only maintenance has been a new radiator (common due to the plastic factory radiator), master cylinder, and AC conversion last summer, also throw in a couple of brake shoes and batteries. If this one lasts me 50,000 more miles, I think I will have gotten my money's worth.
i love em both
own 1988 and 1990 240dl they are the best the best car ever made
Golden brick
The older Volvos especially the rear wheel drive versions are some of the best and most indestructible cars ever built. The 140 series, the 240 and 740/940 series.Once your discover them,You will realize how quickly they get under your skin.Ive owned just about every vehicle you could imagine. There's just something about these old Volvos that are just very enchanting and endearing.
I LOVE MY 240DL
I bought my car back in '98 off the recommendation of my father who had just bought another used 240 himself a few months back. Its boxey and not really great on leg room for a tall guy like me, but its such an awesome car. No major repairs since I've had the car. I love it so much. I take it to a private mechanic who used to work for a volvo dealer before he opened his own shop, so the car is so well maintained. I'm looking for another used car, and its going to be a volvo. My dad just bought a used 92 940 GL and I'm probably going for the same. I keeping my 240 though...even at 208000 miles, it runs way better than alot of newer cars on the road today.
Swedish Ice Breaker
Purchased the vehicle in Germany 14 years ago and actually picked it up at the factory in Gotheborg Sweden. This car has been to Berlin, Venice, London, and Paris with no problems. 140,000 miles later I had my first major problem. The Mass Air Flow Meter acted up and had the car running hard with a high idle. Replaced with new flow meter and it runs like a top. Expect another 100,000 miles out of her.
