1998 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class
My 1998 CL 600 had just 73,000 miles when I bought it in 9/2013. It now has 76,000 miles. It won 1st place in the category for coupes and convertibles at a Mercedes concourse for it's overall condition. It gets up to 23 mpg on the highway and an average of 16.5 mpg. Not that his is important, but it shows that the engine is not used to its potential on US streets. It should last for many … more miles.
The car glides and is a joy to drive in the city as well as on the highway. The material used on this car is outstanding and does not show any wear after almost 18 years. The interior space as well as the trunk space is excellent for 4 people, unless they are all much over 6 ft. tall.
It is inexplicable why these cars, especially the CL 600, are selling so cheap. Is it the fear of expensive repairs? A good pre-purchase inspection should be done before buying this car.
