2018 Kia Stinger
I’ve owned my certified used 2018 Stinger Premium with a 3 year dealer maintenance service agreement for 9 months. The Silky Silver (outstanding quality - dirt rolls off it) with Black interior car is a great look. The 4-Cylinder engine is quite responsive. I can easily achieve 32 mpg at 75 mph on a 3 hour drive using cruise control in ECO mode. The Harmon Kardon sound system pumps … out all the base your chest can take. The rear seat egress does not decapitate you like in European badges. Six foot adults can easily sit in the rear with a six foot driver at the helm. Compared to similar European brands the legroom is much better. The overall styling of the vehicle seemed to pull elements from Masarati and Porche. In order for Kia to meet their vehicle material cost budget and reduce vehicle weight, Kia relied heavily on the use of plastic. The rear lift back has plastic at the license plate area which made it impossible to attach a team spirit magnet. The car is spec’d for 87 but it hits another octave on 93. Twice per month folks ask me what kind of car is that with the “Sigma” badge and twice per month they leave impressed that it is a Kia. Thanks Kia for buying European design talent to create a wonderful machine.
Side Note: the only design defect that I experienced are the two 1-inch wide roof clear plastic sleeves over the painted plastic rails began to become brittle. Warranty item. Minor recall in the making.
Side Note 2: Offer inter-cooled front seat option.
Side Note 3: For women, the car offers excellent security. Once you put the car in drive, all doors and lift back stay locked until you use your remote control to open.
