I previously owned a 2017 RAV4 which Toyota re-purchased when I filed for Lemon Law arbitration. The defect was that the Entune radio/navigation system would periodically and spontaneously "freeze" - - - leaving me with no navigation system or hands-free telephone operation. I purchased a used 2018 Toyota RAV4. The Entune navigation/radio system "froze" just once since I purchased the car about nine months ago. So hopefully, Toyota has figured out the problem with the Entune system. Other than that, I have no complaints with the RAV4 (other than the name). It is very comfortable and functions well as a SUV for hauling loads. I'm averaging about 30 mpg with in-city driving.
Can not fix my climate control

I have been to the dealer 4 times and they can’t fix my climate control. The insult was they told me I did not how to use it. My answer to them was if u put the temperature on 72 the car should Maintain that temperature. I will never buy a Toyota again

My wife fell in love with this beauty at first sight. Appearance wise this car is spectacular. We drove it 60 miles to get home. It was an is flawless. The white exterior set off by black highlights, I mean hot. We cannot get over the ride and handling. The black interior is spotless. We love it.

Western Pa hills have mileage at 33 in winter & 37mpg in summer: super for AWD. Great acceleration & comfortable interior. Love the safety features.

What I like: It took me awhile to get used to the front-end styling--with the sharper angles, but now I find it appealing from every viewpoint. The 2019 seems to have like a "bump" on the hood that makes it look less aerodynamic--sort of like a broken nose. I like the whistle, bells and buzzers that come with XLE trim level--but, it is going to take me awhile to figure out how to use them--as I am transitioning from a beloved 2004 Nissan Frontier truck --who has never even heard of some of this tech. Got to Love the full-time AWD. I am used to switching to 4WD at the base of my long, steep, 'crush and run' driveway. This vehicle just runs up the drive--sure-footed and smoothly--there's no sense of pulling or straining from a flat level to a steep one. I like the back-up cameras and mirrors--gives me a sense of being able to see clearly all around the sides and back of the vehicle. What I don't like: is that, it is hard to see over the hood--I feel like I am driving from inside the bottom of a bucket. But, that is due to switching from a bird's-eye-view from a truck to a lower-riding car. Might help if I can figure out how to jack the seat up and forward a bit (where is that owner's manual?). I like the push button start. Fiddling with keys and separating the keys so that you don't mess up your ignition is a hassle. I like that, when you turn it on, you cannot tell that it is running unless you look at the screen and see a green "ready" light. Super quiet. I didn't experience any odd noises transitioning from electric to gas--that some reviewers complained of. I find the car so quiet, I had to keep checking to make sure it was even "on". The acceleration to get into highway traffic was a little surprising. This baby sits down and scoots when it has to! Not a muscle car, of course, but the power is there when you need it. The drive is smooth as butter! Corners surprisingly well, I thought. The braking is a bit too responsive for me--another acclimation issue compared to a truck. In short: A pleasure to drive as far as I'm concerned. Easy to park. I like the automatic lift-gate. Real handy for opening when you have shopping bags (or whatever) in hand. Nice roomy "trunk" though there is no trunk cover on the vehicle I purchased. What I am not fond of is the fact that, when you put the back seats down, you don't get a flat surface. Instead you get a bit of a ski slope. I also don't like the rear end bumper--as there really isn't any--to speak of. Seems like a set up that is just begging for some dings and scrapes. I think there is some sort of after-market bumper assembly to help prevent scratches etc? I don't have cell reception in the mountains where I live, thus no cell phone--so I cannot speak to the problems regarding that issue. I also don't care about the sound system. When I ride in a vehicle, I like to pay attention to the sights and sounds of the road and surroundings, not stare at a screen or talk/text whilst driving. It may seem a small thing, but I like that there is a black out area on the windshield on either side of the rearview mirror--as well as visor extensions to block out the sun when it invariable hits in that unprotected spot--with visors down. Nice! I like the lighted mirror under the visor on the driver's side. Love it that the seats are heated in front. Good thing I don't have passengers, I don't think the passenger seat and back seats are all that comfortable. Plus, I cannot imagine riding 3 in the back seat--unless they were very, very small people! I like the storage in the glove compartment, armrest, etc. Pretty good use of space. The cup-holders are well-placed and grip your cup. What I don't like: The dual-tone (black/white) seat covers. Whomever thought White would make a nice color to put on the seats and backs in a vehicle--must have been smoking their socks at the time. Easily fixed with seatcovers--which are a good investment for any set of seats/colours anyway. Not a deal breaker. On the whole, I am very happy with my (new to me) RAV4 Hybrid! Oh! I forgot the best part! The gas mileage! Cannot believe that I got 35 mpg (mostly) highway for my trip to the store! That's one item on the screen that may become distracting! :-D
