2025 Toyota Crown Consumer Reviews

Nice car but some issues
Just got the car and want to give initial review. Traded in a 2017 Buick LaCrosse Premium ll which had an excellent ride. The Crown is not as comfortable but close. The Crown is not as quiet on the road but not bad at all. The ride of the Crown is comfortable but will wallow a bit on twisty bumpy roads. Acceleration is adequate for getting up to highway speed and is well composed on highway drives. One negative is cabin storage space which is minimal. I usually keep my umbrella in the door pocket, but the door pocket on the Crown is very small even though there looks like they could have extended farther back in the bottom of the door panel. The Japanese are great at miniaturizing and proved it with the glove box. Don't know if you could get two winter gloves in without taking out the owner's manual. I mean it is really small. The driver seat memory doesn't work so I had to go online to find a way to correct the problem without going back to the dealer. Haven't try it yet but the video was from a Toyota dealer so hopefully that will be corrected shortly. The button to open the trunk is an easter egg hunt; very hard to locate even after a few days. Overall I'm very pleased with the Crown; it's quiet and comfortable on the road with overall quality of build excellent. If not for the lack of storage space in the cabin I would rate it a 5 overall. Six months in: Have gotten used to the car and here are some thoughts. The truck button location has been fixed by muscle memory; don't have a problem locating it after opening the truck many times. Mileage is great or so so depending on weather; in warmer weather mileage is great and well over 40 MPG. With winter here my average mileage is around 37 mpg. Not great but much better than the Buick Lacrosse. Some of the features I like: Automatic heated steering wheel. Like having it come on anytime the weather is chilly. Automatic wipers are nice to have, but sometimes you need to adjust them for best effect. Adaptive cruise control is very good; that along with lane keep assist makes long drives much more relaxing. Did note that the speed shown on the odometer is about 2 mph lower than what is shown on gps. One thing that takes getting used to is the automatic braking. When you're behind another vehicle that is slowing down the Crown automatically starts using regenerative breaking to slow down along with the other vehicle. Once you get used to it you'll like it. Helps mileage and increases safety. Main dislike is that the engine can be quite noisy when pushed. When you first start the car it will run on battery for a short time then start the engine to I assume charge the battery and heat up the engine. Depending on the weather it will run a short time or longer to heat the cabin. Control buttons are not intuitive. For example I always have to look at the cruise control buttons to make sure I hit the correct one. Many of the buttons are smaller than you would like. The buttons on the drivers door could be bigger. Always have to look at them to determine the correct one to push. Many of the control buttons could have blips on them so your fingers can determine the correct one to push. Overall I really like the car. It's comfortable and economical. Would be hard pressed to find another car with the same features at a lower price. After one year: The car is great with good mileage. Can get over 50 MPG on the highway in good conditions. Got used to the quirks so no major issues. One issue that I dislike is that after one year you have to pay to have navigation/remote thru phone, and music apps. To get both maps and music is $25 per month, or $15 per month separately. I'm not a cheapskate but really? I just use CarPlay for maps and have Sirius/XM on my phone if I want music. My feeling is that the nav system should be part of the purchase price. I'll live without it but will more fully consider other vehicles the next time around.

Silver Bullet
My kids named it the Silver Bullet. It's not fast but has the look. Easy to drive. In a few weeks, so far so good. I'm getting 41.8 mph in mixed driving. Comfortable inside. Controls are a little complicated. I'm most often asked, "What kind of car is that?" It's too new to say much more.

traveling car
i bought the Toyota Crown in September 2023 and now 1 year later i have 52,000 miles on it. i bought it because i was going to travel for work all over the country. and this car did not disappoint. i had a Mercedes van and drove it to Milwaukee for a show. it took be over $380 in gas. i did the exact same trip 2 months later and it cost less than $130 in gas. only in the winter did my mpg go down. but most times i am averaging about 46+ miles to the gallon. on the highway.... and better locally. the sport mode has some good pick up and has gotten me out on the highways quickly in heavy traffic. the comfort and roominess is great. wish it had a sunroof but i can roll down the window. all the controls are friendly. the temperature is quickly obtained in summer or winter. the handling is very tight to the road. i would and have recommended this car to everyone who comes up and says how beautiful the car is. and the Toyota service is great.

Excellent craftsmanship inside and out. Fast acceleration, smooth ride, responsive handling, crisp display/dashboard, large wheels that roll right over bumps like they don’t exist, huge trunk, extra spacious backseats. Excellent car!!

Better than my Lexus
What? Better than my Lexus??? Yes!! Why? Ride, cabin noise, features are equal to the ES 350. What is better about it? Ride height, technology and infotainment are better and easier to use! The engine provides good off the line and passing performance, and while nothing beats Toyota’s tried and true V-6, it is very good given the 42.9 MPG I am averaging so far. I while do not wish to offend the local UAW workers, it is built in Japan, fit and finish is best in class! So $47,800 sticker for my limited????? Yes because the product exceeds my expectations and I like it better than the ES 350 I traded! UPDATE: Purchased a 2024 Limited early summer and have found the driving pleasant and comfortable, Coming from a 2019 Lexus ES 350, the power is much less but fuel economy is impressive. fit, finish and build quality are exceptional. My only knock is the gasoline engine is a bit noisy of the line when it kicks in, and once up tp speed it is very quite. This is our second car for retirment’s around town and short 2-3 day excursions we love to make. We live in the NE US and the cold does rob you of about 5 mpg in the colder months, but sill getting 35, as opposed to my 40 in the cooler/warmer months. Tech is boomer friendly and the Toyota Safety tech is amazing. as we age we find getting in and out of the slightly elevated platform a huge plus. My spouse hates sitting low in a car and this feels much different. The long drive and then refueling still puts a smile on my face!!!
