Used 2008 Toyota Corolla CE 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
Absolutely love my 2008 Corolla CE
Traded my old rusted out Ford Ranger that I had for 12 year's. Big 4L engine with mpg below 15 mpg. Horrible in the snow. Bought my 2008 Corolla used in 2013. Still have it today. Came up from Florida and it still doesn't have any rust anywhere. In the snow it's a beast. Car is so light it drives over the snow. Snow bank in front of your driveway? No problem. Disengage overdrive put it in low gear and drive right through the snow bank. Mpg is less than I hoped for at only 22 mpg but that's like 95% city driving. Don't know why other's say that this car does not have any get up and go because mine sure does. Even passengers are impressed when I have to pass a car quickly on the highway. My baby drops down 1 gear and whoosh I'm gone. Like from 65 to 75 in 3 seconds. At 80 you can feel her struggling so I don't push her there. Had to replace front struts which was pricey and replace intake manifold gasket but other than that it's just been routine maintenance and that's 7 year's of driving a 12 year old car. This car will more than likely out live me. I'm 56 atm. My baby only has 100,984 miles on her. Should be good for at least another 200,000 and I only drive 5k a year.

Fourth Toyota, third Corolla!
I has a 08 CE auto transmission. I tested a 2010 lancer but it was absolutely useless in the snow n traction control was nonexistent. My buddy reminded me the next morning we had to check out a Corolla. It’s been a year and a half and has 180k miles but it seems just fine. Maintenance is cheap mostly because I do it myself and parts aren’t expensive. I do miss the black interior of my truck, the tan shows all the dirt and is ruined from salt. I know they retain value like crazy and hopefully I will drive it to the ground n get another Corolla. It’s very comfortable and I’m glad the previous owner installed cruise control for long hauls. Please don’t expect too sportiness much from this or you’ll be setting yourself up for disappointment. It’s barely has 128 horses and struggles to merge onto the freeway without sounding like it’ll blow up. You pay a premium price for the name and reliability. Pros: I live in Minneapolis and it handles snow like a champ. Sits higher, better visibility and easier to get out of. Simple, user friendly controls. Tons of trunk space. Reliable. Good mpg. Very comfortable. 60/40 split seats for more cargo space. I installed a subwoofer, no one will suspect a thing 😄 Cons: Overpriced. Body roll though corners is scary. Most standard safety equipment costs extra (I dint have anti lock brakes)

Ughhhh
I bought my Corolla brand new and have had issues since the first month I had it. My tire pressure light goes off every time there's a slight change in temperature, even though the PSI is what it's supposed to be. I was told by the service dept. that it was a faulty sensor, and they didn't know if it would be covered by warranty. Then there has been the recalls, which happens with any manufacturer. However, today I brought my car in for my 30k mi. service and they discovered my water pump was leaking (covered by warranty) and my drivetrain belt needed to be replaced. I bought a new car, and specifically a Toyota, to avoid having constant issues while I was paying on it.
Bar None best car for your money
Recently drove from Abilene, tx to Dallas and back. My corolla got 37.5 miles per gallon. And that's with the a/c on. Idling in drive through, my lead foot, and pulling over 10 times on the way there and back. Love how cheap the vehicle was. And it is perfect for my family.
Poor Corolla
When I bought this car, I knew it was going to be for utilitarian purposes only, school, work, errands. After all, that's all that this car is good for. After 2.5 years driving it after buying it brand new, I got bored with it and sick of hearing the engine strain to accelerate and pick up reasonable speed. The car drives well, seeps on gas slowly (I could drive 2 weeks without filling up), but it is not a fun car. Very dependable, never had an issue with it after 20,000 and going.
